  1. Thanks!!!! And I think I may attempt barefoot sandals too!!! They look like they may be EASY to make!!!!
  2. I am a feb MC bride but the 4th check out the Majestic Colonial Brides facebook group and you may find your wedding date twin!
  3. They are in a new version of powerpoint, I also use a Mac but that shouldn't be an issue...... The survival kits are just ziploc sandwich bags! Nothing fancy there! The pepto are placed in craft bags from the dollar store!
  4. OMG I CANNOT believe that where you originally ordered your dress was a FAKE site!!! Did you get your money backl?! That is just awful!!! That being said your dress is GORGEOUS!!!!
  5. There are a couple reasons people would do a "fake cake" 1) Think of it like real touch flowers, you can't ALWAYS get what you want down south and depending on your resort and personality you may like things just so this ensures you "get what you want" 2) cost effectiveness. A "fake" cake is re-used, they just remove the fondant and keep the form so it is MUCH cheaper than a real cake 3) less waste!!!! Most DW are significantly under 100 people and therefore the cake required is only ever about a tier or two. Most brides like a more dramatic or impactful cake then one they can just bake at home so the "fake" option allows for that look without the waste!
  6. I agree with the ladies above!! The text on the bottom is cut off so you definitely want to do something about that! And transparency will help to make the initials POP!
  7. That is what we did too!!! for $1-$2 a bag they are the same as a paper gift bag so better too many than too few!!! hahaha I thought that after but have never seen a CAA branch so I may just need to look into that further!!! Thanks, I didn't realize they sold items I thought it was just roadside assistance and stuff lol I wanted to do that for our invites!!!!!!!!! We have black and white leather ones that my mom collected 40+ of from a vendor she works with. We ended up not doing it for invites because we sent out so many. I may do our pre travel brochure as a passport if I have the patience/energy and send them out with that! As for BDW rules go to the "how to navigate" section under forums along with bugs issues etc and there are a few GREAT threads to answer all your questions!!! Oh thanks MJKH! It just always concerns me, like those stickers people put on their cars with the stick figures "mom, dad, kid 1, kid 2 dog cat" and sometimes they even have their names under them..... I think I just watch too much criminal minds!! LOL I like your idea for initials, personal but SAFE!!!
  8. Thanks for sharing! Does anyone else have to "login for pricing" ??
  9. Coco I am so glad to hear you had an AMAZING experience!!! Your dress is absolutely STUNNING I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! But we've GOTTA see the shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. LOVE these!!! Where are they from?! SO CUTE!!!! These would be perfect for me to change into!!! Did you get them at teh guess store?!
  11. NO!!!!! I have found lots I like but none I LOVE and can commit to LOL Keep me posted on your finds, I am looking for Navy and seem to find a ton of Cobalt blue but not Navy as much! Thanks!!! I am going to make my own bouquets with real touch flowers. You know I love my DIY projects so I think I will either order online or head to the wholesalers (both Mom and I have our business licenses) and we will pick up my flowers there! I looked into having them made but I jsut couldn't justify that kind of money on real touch flowers as I could get REAL for the same. That sounds like a great deal I just can't justify spending that much on flowers that aren't even real! I am hoping to spend 1/2 that (or less) and DIY them... hopefully it works out! Hello to you and WELCOME!!!!!! You may most definitely join our thread as an honorary Canadian bride!!! Living in Montreal definitely makes you part of the "Canadian Bride" group as you are going through the same challenges we are!!!!! You should also check out the Canadian OOT bag thread for great tips on where to find deals and things for your OOT bags (assuming you are doing them!). Happy planning
  12. What is your budget for Mugs natalie? Did you consider doing Bubbas or would you rather keep it cheaper?
  13. Wow, the posts I come back to after a long weekend AWAY!!!!!! Sorry Ladies, this is going to be a long one!!!! Thanks luvmoo, I think I will just hold off until we cross the boarder again (I am sorry you cant get across but glad you found the ebay deal) as they are a little cheaper and since we are going anyways I should practise my patience!!! Quote: Originally Posted by luvmoo Hey Tori, I wasn't able to fid the individual shout packs anywhere here in Canada.. I am not going over the boarder at all before the wedding so this was my only option if i wanted them in the bags.. Also.. i went to the dollarstore ( i heart dollarama lol) as i was looking for more advil.. of course they did not have any, BUT!!!! they had mentos.. on for 2 for 1$, and they don't expire until 2013! soo i bought 2 cases of mentos and i will put one pack of mentos in each bag.. I thought that was a nice find *sigh still on the search for my last 15 bottles of advil hahaha.. Great finds Natalie!!!!!! The tide hanging pockets are cool!! We have a rexall here but I have never been in.... off there this afternoon!! They also have these at the dollarstore but $0.99 is cheaper than $1 LOL First off WOW MJKH way too go!!!!! You should do an OOT planning thread of your own to share with everyone!!!! For your flower girl cover ups I think you should embroider "Flower Girl" as opposed to their names as I hate to see children carrying or wearing anything with their names as it is an open invitation for strangers to address them by name which is just confusing to kids and makes me nervous! Thats just my suggestion - I'm a little crazy like that!!! I am so impressed with you couponing!!!!!!!! I never here CANADIAN coupon successes so this is great!!! I have to ask... what is CAA? I like the Woolite 10 packs and would love to pick some up but maybe we dont have a CAA here?! The dry shampoo is AMAZING I love that stuff, will have to head to winners/homesense to see if I can pick some up! I used the flat labels (full label sheets 8.5 x 11) but you could use packing tape to "seal" them making them water proof AND shiny. We did this for the water bottle labels for my girlfriends wedding last weekend and it works great!!!!! Check out ebay, amazon and other online sites like OT and such. They have passport covers too!!! Also the dollar store had them for $1, I think I may have posted it awhile back but they are in the section with the headphones, CDs etc! I never thoguht of emergen-C but think I may add it to our bags 1 gatorade 1 emergen-c each person! I would LOVE to get all your couponing tips!!!! Maybe you should start a MJKH couponing thread and let us know so we can follow you in there!!!!!! WOW!!!!! Amazing deal, I wont be near a la vie en rose until next weekend but I hope they still have them!!!!!!
  14. LOVE THESE!!!! Thanks Did the majestic wedding coordinator confirm they were ok with using these? I was told by a few other brides that the majestic wont let you use them but I am so in love with these!!!
  15. I was told you can book your welcome dinner at the buffet and they section off a private room for you (at the colonial at least). I was told by other brides that they wont book any other reservations in advance. Please share if you find out anything else as we would like to do a dinner not necessarily at the buffet. If you have a private reception and don't do your "steakhouse" semi private dinner I am told you can book that reservation as it is included in your wedding package!
  16. Go online and design a few things to put in your "cart" even if you don't want those specific things if you leave them in your cart you will start getting a TON of emails for free things because they want you to check them out!!!!!! Its a great way to kickstart your FREEBIES!!!! I end up just printing everything at home or at a print shop nearby because I can be there and control that it is all ok!!!!
  17. I cannot decide what to do four the bouquets! Originally I was dead set on calla lillies, it was pretty much the only thing I had decided on. Now 6 months away I am second guessing my decision. My best friend just used them in her centrepieces at her own wedding 2 weeks ago and my mom says they are kind of "over done" I wanted something simple and elegant that would not "date" my pictures but now I am just not sure. Here are some of my inspiration pictures but I just can't decide!!!!!! Any suggestions?!
  18. Oh thats a good idea!!! I keep my jewelry in one at home as it works great!
  19. I picked up printmaster a few months back at the beginning of my planning process because I thought it would help with all my design projects, I found it REALLY tough to navigate, you weren't able to do everything I expect and it was a SLOW program! I am glad to see you were able to get it to work for you!
  20. I am going to be doing real touch so no worries about lasting in heat and humidity. This way I know I get what I want and they will last! The top row centre is a composite bouquet. I am kind of obsessed with this but not sure if you can do it with "fake" flowers. They are done by taking apart many flowers and floral wiring them together to create one HUGE flower. I love the look but I also want a classic look to our picture and don't want anything "dating" them so I am not sure if the composite bouquet would do that!
  21. Walmart has the wrist coils in the office section I think it is 6 or 8 for under $2. I posted a picture awhile back in this thread!
