  1. I don't really want gifts either. We don't need gifts. Can we ask for cash?
  2. wow, we're only going for 4 hours. But we're not expecting photos of everything or everyone and it's kinda a small thing.
  3. I think that would work. Perhaps an online thing may be easier for RSVP (so things can be easily changed and updated), but I understand if you want to do them that way.
  4. Oh goodness, that has to be such a tough situation. I agree with the rest of the girls...perhaps more mixing of groups isn't the greatest option, but instead bringing small groups out to celebrate with you!
  5. I think we're just going to bring little gift bags and fill them there with local snacks and a few bottles of water (mostly because everything there is so much cheaper!). We might throw in some tums or something....incase someone eats some bad curry.
  6. I think one hour should be plenty. Cocktail hours are super expensive!
  7. haha, we made pros and cons, and eventually the cheapest won
  8. Yeah, I was toying with the idea of printing at home, but it sounds easier (and cheaper in the long run) to just have some of the stuff printed for me.
  9. Yeah, we're having our suits made in Bangkok before the wedding (we're getting married in Thailand) and they actually make amazing suits for cheap prices. So I wouldn't worry about the quality. Often people take trips to bangkok just to buy suits. But I'm sure they only charge that price for foreigners, if you go there you could probably get the same suit for $60.
  10. I think it's completely your choice. Personally, we are not staying together. We've chosen to save sex for within marriage and have only slept in the same bed once. I think this, for us, is a really good expression of our commitment to the covenant of marriage, our religious commitments, and how we want to be accountable to others. But those are all such personal reasons for us, I think the decision should come between you two.
  11. Hey, I'm so sorry that this happened to you. That has to be such a difficult situation to navigate. And only you two can know what's right for your future, either together or apart. But truth be told, miscommunications are part of marriage. Challenges happen, especially when it comes to spending money, and those are things that you need to work through in order to allow for any happy times within the marriage. My FI and I were blessed to do some premaritial classes to talk about communication, finances, etc. and I would really recommend trying that or at least talking through the issue of the house payment and working those things out before committing to spending your lives together.
  12. Personally, I think Thailand beats all. They have the best beaches in the world. Plus you can have 5 star luxury for less than anywhere else in the world!
  13. That's such a good idea. i never thought about target.
  14. I found my wedding colors (finally). I love these three colors (lilac, purple, royal blue). But I can't figure out what the purplish color is named. Any ideas?
  15. I think you could take white flip flops and bedazzle them up a bit.
  16. I tried on a lot of dresses that were just way too much. I'm getting married in the summer in Thailand, so I decided on a short dress. I was also worried about a breezy dress with a breezy beach often means the dress is clung to your legs (i've seen some not too flattering destination wedding pictures). But those are just thoughts, good luck on your search!
