  1. Hello ladies, I'm thinking about selling my dress. Someone has inquired about it and I'm wondering if I will regret it after? If I have a little girl oneday, will I wish I had it to show her? On the other hand, had I done Trash The Dress in Punta Cana - I wouldn't have the dres anyways. Or, is selling it the best thing to do - will it just take up space and never be touch again? I'm interested in your thoughts and experiences. xoxo
  2. Hello! We went to City Hall one week before our wedding in regular clothes and picked up our marriage certificate from the City Clerk. We didn't exchange rings or tell anyone except our parents. She read a nice poem for us and only our parents attended. It was over in less than 4 minutes and not emotional at all. Our pastor had us sign a wedding certificate during the symbolic ceremony. No one knew the difference
  3. I am sorry to hear what you are going through! Until the financial situation is squared – away, I think it’s very smart and responsible to hold off on the wedding. When the circumstances are better, you will truly look forward to the big day. As for the planner, give her some more time as she may have to discuss and make an exception in your case. It’s probably not just up to her as she has to follow company guidelines. If she can’t make an exception for you, perhaps she can retain the funds for a future vacation or traveling plans that may arise in the future. Let her know if anything changes, you will use her services in the future. Hang in there….
  4. Hang in there! People who adore you will make it to your wedding; the ones who don't - who cares! You will have the time of your life and beautiful pictures to show off when you get back!
  5. Hello, I am thinking about selling my wedding dress and veil from my wedding in July. It's a Size 0 with no alterations; it was not hemmed or taken in anywhere. I did have a push bra and bustles sewn into the dress. It's been cleaned and placed in a preservation box. I have receipts for everything. Below are two photos of the dress on a model. To see the dress on me and the veil, click on my profile and view my album. Private message me if you are interested. Profile: monicak
  6. I got married in July and we had a symbolic ceremony @ 5:00 p.m. It was perfect, and starting to cool down.
  7. I was really calm before the wedding. I had breakfast, spent the morning at the beach and then headed to the spa for nails and hair. Had hair and makeup done in my room and took my time getting ready.
  8. I agree, just give him the ring before the ceremony and use that. I ended up purchasing a bridal set and just didn't wear a ring prior to the wedding.....Just tell people it's clean and you don't want to get it dirty for pictures.
  9. Welcome! Congrats! Cabo is beautiful! Punta Cana is my favorite though
  10. Go for it! I'm so happy I had a destination wedding versus at home
  11. Hello! I had Pastor York perform our ceremony and he was AMAZING! We went with the Traditional Ceremony for our wedding. He was so nice, funny and all of my guests thought we knew him because he geared it towards us after a few emails. We also did the unity sand that he suggested. I highly recommend him!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Hello! I agree with SLLEFEBVR. I'm the same way, if I invite - I pay. Especially with "wedding" being associated with the dinner, I think guests don't expect to pay for a meal when celebrating someone's wedding. My family wouldn't be happy about that but that's just me. I'm am curious to hear how it all turns out.
  13. hello! I chose the Riu Palace Punta Cana because I had vacationed there a year before. Most of the resorts are beautiful, you won't go wrong!
  14. Don't worry hun! Most of my 30 guests booked their trip 2 months before the wedding. I started planning in January 2011 and my wedding was July 2011. It's really early and I found people didn't commit until right before (w/the exception of the wedding party and parents).
  15. Vickib - I just got married in July and my bridesmaid wore Guava from David's Bridal. I found Guava ties for the guys too! Check out my wedding review and you will see the colors we chose (orange, ivory, and gold tones). Everyone LOVED the Guava and it was beautiful in the pictures
