  1. Congrats on your engagement! ultimately, its your wedding so do what you want to do. I can see where you're coming since you're having a AHR but what is your wedding day going to be to you, the one at the resort correct? your guests will be paying a lot of money to travel so if its within your budget, I wouldn't do a wedding with all the "frill" but definetly treat them in a way since they're spending money on this trip. From all the info I've seen about the AHR, those are the ones you don't spend as much time planning as you are planning your actual wedding.
  2. Yep! Adorae by Sottero & Midgley. Definetly what I wasn't going for but its so comfortable
  3. I want to say that Jellyfish only takes credit cards for food and beverages. Lounge furniture should be included in the fee you're paying for decorating the reception.
  4. I'm staying at the ME but getting married off site also. We're planning a "welcome dinner" and was told to email [email protected] I've already emailed them about making reservations, they request that we contact them about 2 weeks before hand as they have events going on but it is still early to know when. After all my research I saw that people say that welcome dinner's are only reserved in the buffets but he said we can do it otherwise if there is no events.. I figure we'll have the welcome dinner at the buffet but if they let us do it in a restaurant I'll be happy with that, don't want to get our hopes up. This is actually what was said: we can coordinate a nice welcome dinner in one of the restaurants for the group, and you can contact us two weeks before to coordinate which restaurant and set up a menu so you can receive a private service for this special night.
  5. Here is my first dressing fitting, don't mind the top they're taking it in.
  6. It's $500 to decorate for the Ceremony and $500 to decorate for the Reception but I think it depends on how many guests you have because on my preinvoice Mayte has it less for both Ceremony & Reception. I'm using Pastor York and it is a $300 fee but eveyone raves about him. The way I see it, Mayte takes care of eveything.. you don't have to worry about bringing anything and with all the time and effort she does it comes out beautifully so you don't have to worry about anything. I just went to look at some of my old emails from Mayte and here are some of her responses: - What does the Ceremony set on the beach include? Bamboo tent in wedding colors, decoration, table ceremony, centerpiece, chairs, covers and ribbons ind wedding colors, aysle, decorations, carpet, tikki torches and a lounge area on the beach with white sofas, chair lounge and pilllow every where. - Decoration of place and tables, what does it include? Linen, napkign chairs, covers, ribbons, centerpieces, candles, decoration napkin, names cards, menu cards, cake table, book table, decoration entrance and place
  7. First dress fitting, don't mind the top as they're taking it in.
  8. I have 3 bridesmaids and 1 maid of honor so that would be amazing!
  9. I'm planning on going to the spa for my hair, originally I didn't want to.. but I figure it will be something I won't have to worry about. As far as makeup, I'm planning on going to MAC and do a trial and purchase the makeup.
  10. You're planning thread looks great! love how everything blends together & your ring bearer's outfit is adorable Did you buy your maid of honor/bridesmaid tank tops or did you DIY? I can't find iron on's anywhere and I'd rather do it myself.
  11. My parents & maid of honor are throwing us a jack & jill wedding shower.. in my culture its pretty much a mini wedding, since we don't live back home anymore we're not doing an AHR so this is more for us to be with guests that aren't able to go to our DW and we have familiy traveling from Canada for this.
  12. Mayte decorates the ceremony, provides different chair options.. not sure if you have already, but add the Jellyfish page & group on facebook and theres pictures and videos of weddings.
  13. Sounds great.. we're flying home for our jack & jill wedding showe & my friends are throwing me a "panty party" (pretty much everyone buys lingere for me). Love girl nights
  14. Free ceremonies at the resorts aren't always free, you have to pay for the decor still I believe// or brides just buy it and bring it with them... you have to pay outside vendor fees if you are using a photographer down there..as far as the Jellyfish, we pay Mayte and she takes care of everything. I think it depends on how many people but it is listed on the brochure how much.
  15. Just wanted to let you ladies know that I found the most helpful website ever.. http://vistaprint-goddess.weebly.com/sample-email.html my total: Product Total: $159.86 $5.49 Shipping & Processing (Economy 21 Days): $33.99 Total: $193.85 $39.48 You Saved $154.37! so, for everything I paid $5.49 but with shipping it was 33.99 = $39.48 and that was for 25 brochures, 250 business cards, 2 tote bags, 1 hat, 2 signs, 140 return address labels and 1 mouse pad.. I could have gotten more but I didn't want to spend more than $40.
  16. For you ladies making the brochures, what costs have you been seeing? I just looked on vistaprint now and it says 25 for $27.99
  17. Bittersweet, provide your email & someoone can send it MNtoMX, I'm going to send you the one I have.. same exact thing as the one you have except at the bottom it has the prices for everything it has listed (cigar roller, dancers, etc).
  18. I just bought the same vases from Michaels yesterday and I ended buying a white frame from walmart, fiance already drilled a hole at the top but I haven't figured out how I'm going to go about gluing it yet. Bought our sand at hobby lobby.. I think our total is definetly a little less than $20
  19. I think reserving a chair with a flower on it for the ceremony goes great lengths.
  20. It looks amazing & the fact that you feel comfortable in it will make you feel even better on your wedding day
  21. I was tentative to do OOT bags, but I've decided we're going to do them...even if its something small..everything looks great.
  22. Starting to write my vows.. I really enjoyed how they wrote their vows on this website: http://2000dollarwedding.com/2008/07/from-conception-to-reception.html (scroll down a little) and I'm going to do the same method I think, "I love you because.." and then "because I love you, I promise to.."
  23. Never heard anything about it being more to have a dance floor outside.. we have our fees for her to set up for the ceremony & reception.
