  1. Dana, I'm surprised how much nicer and larger your free bouquet looks compared to the sample pictures you get from Tai. I was having a hard time deciding on what to do and can't see spending all the extra $ for a different one. It's just not going to match what I was making for my daughter to carry but oh well.
  2. I was told also just recently that they do not accommodate music at the semi-private receptions. I know there have been many, many changes with things there since Chandlyn, the original wedding coordinator, was released last year. I am going to bring our Ipod and dock just in case. I'd love to have "our" music choices playing during dinner if at all possible.
  3. I have one word Brandy - WOW! You have done a fabulous job and inspired so many other brides to do things we may not have done to make it just that more memorable for guests. Your attention to detail is remarkable. Have a wonderful week and enjoy yourself to the fullest. Theresa
  4. Jwetli, I'm walking down the isle to the theme song from Forest Gump. I love that movie and the song. Just have to find a short version of it.
  5. Dellnia-It's a Simon G. I fell in love with the rose gold and pink diamonds way before we really started looking. Thank! I love your ring also. Beautiful.
  6. Greys - My FI's ring is Mukame Gane. It's a technique used to make Japanese swords and laying of the different metals. He absolutely loves it. It was around 700.00 I think. He got to pick out the colors he wanted to create the design. It's definitely different and not seen very much right now because of the cost. No diamonds though. Problem is, he works in a powerplant so he won't really get to wear it a lot. Laura - Love, love, love the blue coverup!
  7. Love them. I am waiting on mine to arrive. I combined some Jamica tips along with the itinerary in one tri-fold brochure that I'm going to give to the guests before we leave along with their goodies. This way I won't have to lug them all down there myself.
  8. This is great to see so many choices and see ones you may have never thought of.
  9. Definitely check with your DJ. My venue has all of what is needed already installed and ready for slideshows which is really nice so I really don't have to worry about it much. Just getting the slideshow together is my biggest task! I'd like to play the wedding video at the start of the reception as well for those who couldn't make it, which is most everyone!
  10. When we sent our STD 9 months early, we included the OOT wedding date as well as the AHR date. We leave on 4/13/11 and our AHR is 4/30/11 but we will not be back home from Jamaica until 4/22/11. I sent formal but simple invites for the AHR in Feb giving everyone 6 weeks to RSVP. I need a head count prior to leaving the country. We never sent a formal invite for the OOT wedding because those that were determined to go, booked their trip. Wasn't going to waste money on additional invites for that.
  11. I would be offended if they did not attend. Especially if they have plenty of notice to plan for it. Make a day trip or a weekend out of it.
  12. We are having our AHR one week after we return from our DW/honeymoon. Type: Ours will not beach tacky but a nice/pretty beachy theme. The location is already beautifully decorated so there isn't a ton for us to do except centerpieces which I am thrilled about and I love our venue! Food : Fruit, veggies, cold appetizers, punch, tea, beer, wine and cash bar. It will start at 7pm so most people will have eaten dinner prior to arriving. We will be wearing our wedding attire. We are having a DJ. Fiance definitely wants a party because most people are not traveling with us. Thinking 150 people for AHR. Invitations - Formal. Were sent out in Feb for our April 30th AHR with a RSVP date of 3/29. Have to have everything planned and ready to go before we leave for Jamaica on 4/13 since we will only have one week after we return to finish up any loose ends. Cake - Traditional classy beach cake with a grooms cake as well. Photographer - Unsure right now as of now. May just have someone responsible for taking pics for a period of time. Decorations - candles, candles and more candles. Palm tree leaves, Sand, Shells and DW pictures. We may show a video of the wedding ceremony early on and then switch over to a slide show.
  13. Sorry to hear the wedding was cancelled and hopefully you can recover some of your costs.
  14. Way to go Misty for starting this ROR only thread. As we talked before, it's sooo spread out with information that it takes forever to "search other threads" for things only pertaining to your hotel. Who has that amount of time anyway. Let me know what you find for stylists outside the resort in the next few weeks!. I think those prices are absolutely rediculous myself even though I had requested times for three of us. I never put down the deposit. Just cannot see paying that much.
  15. Erin, That is so uncalled for. I would definitely have to let someone know, especially the place that sent you there. How can she honestly perform the work and feel good about it knowing what she is doing to brides. Hoping the other lady can fix it quickly. I'm sure it will turn out beautiful. Not sure I would have paid her myself. Theresa
  16. I really should work on some things this weekend but I think I'm going to play instead. Kansas City has a huge Snake Saturday Parade that I think we will partake in! Erin - For our guestbook, we had a charicature drawing made of us on the beach in wedding clothes and it's adorable! We are doing the matt board around the drawing for the DW but I'm not taking the glass and postcards for our AHR. I've finished my bouts for the mom's and dads and working on my daughters bouquet. I'm now picking out my cake flavors for the AHR and our menu which is probably the hardest piece of all of the planning - the menu. Finish up music for the ceremony and favor tags. Laura - Love the coverup. I need to shop for another one myself.
