  1. This is awesome! I've been contemplating what on earth I was going to put on my head and I'm so glad to have come across this thread! Thanks so much
  2. LOVE this idea! I'm getting a bunch of DIY ideas together and having a "party" with my bm and moh (gotta put them to work, the WC has taken the rest of the planning out of it for me and they're getting off easy hehehe)!
  3. That dress is so beautiful, I love the detail! How wonderful that a family member was able to make that happen for you! You must be insanely excited, only 2 and a half weeks til your big day!!!
  4. Here's some pricing that's listed on the website: Palace Resorts Weddings I'm pretty sure they don't charge to steam your dress but don't quote me on that! The Mariachi band is on there but I'm not sure about the candle holders, etc. I didn't look that far into it
  5. Oh, and I should also add that I'm much shorter than this model, and the dress will NOT BE THAT SHORT!
  6. Hi ladies! So I've scoured this website trying to find any other brides who've done a short dress for their wedding days, and of course I can't find any! I guess my reasoning is that I've never really pictured myself on that day wearing a long gown! We're having a very low key ceremony with an even smaller reception (in our Presidential Suite at Moon Palace). I wanted to keep the wedding from being super formal, so I've chosen to have my dress inspired by the one below: Moonlight Bridal - Product Details If that didn't work, it's the T400 dress by Moonlight Bridal. I will have a different strapless bodice completely (that one's just bunchy and weird). It'll be probably plain like the back, or a nicer version of the ever so popular Herve Leger dresses that you see everyone wearing these days. Oh, and please don't mind the model in this picture, she has a figure skating look going on that I'm NOT planning on replicating!!! . Nice hair right??!! SO, my question to you very well-versed brides and brides to be is what on earth should I do with my hair?? I was thinking a small birdcage, or maybe just a flower. The flower might be a little much after seeing the skirt! I was also looking at very short veils. My hair is shortish and I'll be keeping it half down, and a little curly. If anyone could direct me to a site with pics of brides in shorter dresses, or just with nice veil options I'd be forever grateful!!!!! Thanks in advance
  7. These are great! Do you know if that company ships across Canada?
  8. I also inquired about David Pena, and they're insisting that all the photographers are the same quality. (Not sure if I agree, altho I haven't even seen any of his work, just heard good things!). I decided that I'm bringing a good photographer friend of mine down to Mexico with us. She's giving us all our photos as our gifts, and she's going to make a beautiful photobook also. For the same price as someone down there, why not right??
  9. I'd personally tile it, it'd have a nicer flow. Radiant heat all the way through tho, the warm tootsies while getting dressed sounds awesome! You could always do a nice throw rug in there also...
  10. I know, it's never fun standing behind the hairy old dudes in speedos! EW they usually fart a lot too, from my experience haha. Sorry if that's TMI Just be careful in there, the heat makes you extra flexible and you're more prone to pulling/tearing muscles. Know your limits and don't push too hard until you've done it many times! I just got back from my 2hr spin/bootcamp class, and it was a lot of fun! Burnt 650cals in an hour so I'm very impressed! They had it set up like a circuit, with 3 stations. 1 was spinning, 2 was upper body and 3 was core/lower/insane cardio. Spent about 15min at each. That only took up the first hour though, and then they did a whole hour of yoga afterwards. I would have rather done the yoga first because it was flow yoga and you require a lot of strength, which my body wasn't interested in giving me! 950cals total in 2hrs, yay!
  11. Ok, sorry for 3 posts in a row! FutureMsMoulton, my WC told me you could email her and she'd help get you going. I sent you that info in a PM.
  12. Hey again! I had emailed my WC again this morning, and asked her how crazy busy she must be with all the brides. She told me that this year they're not too terribly busy, but a lot of the WC's are off on holidays for Xmas. So, I just asked her if Kalena is on holidays because that could very well be the case!
  13. Such gorgeous bling ladies! Here's a link to mine. It looks MUCH nicer on my finger! Lugaro Jewellers Ltd. Canadian Diamonds, Fine Diamond Jewellery, Genuine Gemstone Jewellery I didn't get a wedding band made for my ring, which isn't a traditional ering, because I'm in the fitness industry and I panic I'm going to wreck my ering all the time. I'm going to just wear the wedding band when I'm working! I'd rather not have them sit flush anyways. Hopefully that link works, if not I'll try to get a picture up later
  14. So I heard back from my WC, and her name is Claudia Fonseca. She seems very nice, but because we have a really small group coming (less than 20 people) we are definitely not having a reception. We will do dinner but that's it. She's kind of pushing on me to purchase a reception. Not happening! Hopefully all of our correspondence isn't like that. Would it be possible to call the resort to speak with her directly? I'd personally do that rather than wait to hear from someone, who's talking to someone else, and directing someone else to me etc.....
  15. I LOVE this thread, I don't have anything to contribute (yet?) but thanks for sharing!!
  16. If it makes you feel better, my co-ordinator still hasn't emailed me back and it's been a week. I would think she'd be very in touch with you though, yours is soo close! Who's your WC anyways?
  17. LOVE this thread! I've gotten everything so far off of Ebay, but I went to one local dollar store and saw most of the stuff I had purchased online was in-store and around the same price! I'm going to keep shopping locally for now. For the gal who asked about disposable cameras, I've found TONS on Ebay.ca. Just search for disposable camera lot. I found some as cheap as $1.89 each and they're not expired or anything.
  18. Hey Diamondpooch, I actually just read through your wedding crasher post as well, sounds like you're having a doozie of a time with things! I'm sorry to hear about your grandma also, both my FI and my grandma's won't be making the trip either. That's the main reason I'm actually having an AHR. I actually almost cancelled it because the point of a DW for me is to save some money, but my mom lost it when I told her! Good luck with those crazy friends of your FI, everything will work out in the end for you!
  19. Ohhh not as far as I'd like to be, last weekend it was like a lightbulb went off! I've contacted my assigned WC and am still waiting to hear back. Claudia Martinez has been extremely helpful, so I might ask her to light a fire under my WC's butt if I don't hear back soon! I've started purchasing things for my OOT bags but right now I'm mainly focusing on my AHR. It's taking a LOT more planning than the wedding has! Also, I've been stressing about the Moon Palace photographers. Some seem to be quite good, but the more time I spend on here the more worried I get! I might fly down my photog friend to do our pics. Not 100% on that yet tho.... How about you? What are you doing for your photographer?
  20. Great thread! These are my colours also, so thanks to you guys I'll actually be able to start putting stuff together (I'm sooo not organized )!
  21. That's one of the best slideshows I've seen yet, absolutely stunning! I think it may have been a combination of the song and the fact that every picture is amazing, but I got a little misty-eyed watching! Congrats
