  1. I do Bikram's too, was that your first time? It's definitely for an acquired taste hey?
  2. I've taught 1 class this week, and I'm attending a 2hr spinning/bootcamp class tomorrow. Should be seriously tough but I'm looking forward to it
  3. This thread is great, I've been searching for some ideas for a while now so thanks for the ideas. We've decided to purchase some very inexpensive reusable bags (under a dollar each). I don't know if everyone all over is on the same trend as Vancouver, but every grocery store and market has the recyclable cloth bags to reuse when shopping. I have a cupboard full of them and I know that most of my friends are the same. They will get good use out of them! I'm going to get some inexpensive stuff from down there to fill them with. I got some cheap disposable cameras also, so those'll end up taking up some space when travelling but I'm having photographer issues (ie - budget) and this is a way to capture moments from everyone's different points of view for less than the cost of a photog. Oh, and I'm having an AHR also so I'm not too worried about giving a gift to everyone, I'm doing 1 bag per room (10 total) to save on costs. Hope those ideas are of some help??!!
  4. Congrats Katie, have fun exploring this website and planning your dream wedding! I've been glued here for days
  5. Thanks everyone, I'm so glad I found this place . I can't even remember where I came across it, but thank goodness I did haha!
  6. I'd love to travel to Jamaica, great destination choice! Congrats and happy planning
  7. Congrats on 10 years, this site will definitely help you decide where to hold your renewal!
  8. Thanks Tracy, your pics are great! I like that style, but I also LOVE the photojournalism style also. I guess it all boils down to budget. I know I'll be happy either way. It's just relieving to see some actual pictures! As for this David Pena guy, I can't find anything online about him. Does anyone know if he has any pics online? Maybe his style is more geared towards the latter of my likes!
  9. Hey Tracy! I was wondering if your section of professional photos on your Wedding Picture Website are from the Moon Palace photographer? I can't seem to find ANY pictures anywhere!!! Thanks in advance:)
  10. At first the photography didn't mean as much to me as making sure my family would be there to support me on my big day, but now that I've spent so much time browsing this site and all the gorgeous brides with their amazing photos, I've realized that I really want to capture my day with someone of a higher quality. I have a girlfriend who's a great photog that lives here in Vancouver, and she'd do the pics for free, I'd just have to pay for her stay etc. If you find the link to his pics I'd be very grateful! Thanks
  11. Wow this thread is AWESOME! Because I'm doing a short dress I thought I'd get something more casual so I ordered it off Ebay (it's a Betsey Johnson so definitely not an actual wedding dress), and I do love the dress (it was $100US w/ shipping). But, after months of deliberation I decided I want something more formal and have decided to get something from overseas and get it custom-made. I have so much to think about!! Thanks for all these wonderful pictures and reviews, it really helped ease my mind about ordering. I can't wait to see more dresses, keep posting ladies!
  12. Hey Dreamer, I have only been a member for a day and have already found so much useful info, happy planning and congrats!
  13. Hi Amanda! Oooh I love Playa Del Carmen so much! I can't wait to spend some time there when I'm in Mexico for my wedding. Congrats!
  14. Hi everyone! So I spent hours and hours reading over the Moon Palace 2010 thread and got all sorts of amazing information, but one thing I couldn't get an idea about is if any of you brides have heard about the quality of the on-site photographer? I had read from a reviewer on Trip Advisor (a long time before finding the gold mine that is Best Destination Wedding) that the photog provided was quite good, but after reading on here and seeing how a lot of you have or are bringing your own, I'm a little worried!! Advice would be awesome at this point, Thanks
  15. Hey guys! Sorry in advance if this is considered an advert, but it's free so I thought I'd post anyways. I'm a trainer in the Vancouver BC area, and I have a few clients with goals of running the Scotiabank 1/2 Marathon on June 27th, 2010. Because I offer a lot of free classes to people who can't afford fitness but need it, I decided that a free running clinic would be AWESOME! We'll be training in 2 different locations - 1x/week in Richmond BC and 1x/week in Langley BC. We'll start off with a basic learn to run clinic and that'll be 8 weeks long. Then we'll add on distance for the remainder of the our training time until the marathon! Think of it this way. Even if you don't want to run the race, committing yourself to something that's almost 7 months away will help you create a healthy lifestyle, and an excellent byproduct of this training is WEIGHT LOSS! Running 3-5x a week is definitely a major commitment, but so is getting married and looking amazing in those dresses people! REMEMBER THESE 2 THINGS: 1. This is totally free, and it's a wonderful opportunity to aim for something amazing! 2. This is for BEGINNER'S, so don't be shy and let me know if you're interested!!!!! If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or PM me. Also, tell your friends!!!! The more the merrier! (again, sorry if this post is inappropriate, I just want to share the free fitness love ) ~Jenn
  16. I love this thread! I teach spinning and LOVE IT! And no matter what my butt will never adjust to the pain. No amount of padding seems to help, but I'll take it! Spinning is the most intense exercise I have ever done by far (the first class I did, I burnt 700cals in 50min!). It's great because no matter what level you are, you set the intensity and make that class your own. You never have to worry about the people around you because as most of you know, spinners are pretty hardcore about their classes! Have fun ladies!!

  18. I'm so excited too Tune, I realized last week that there's only 4 months to go and I need to get my butt in gear! As for planning, we've chosen the Complementary Package. I'll be bringing some bouquets down for my MOH and BM, as well as some stuff to decorate with. The prices are ridiculous down there, and we're having a reception back here once we return and that's going to cost me enough money as it is! I will be splurging on the mariachi band AND the horse drawn carriage though . We're booking everything through my future father-in-law, because he's a presidential member and it's saving my small guestlist a bunch of money when booking. Also, because our group is fairly small (20 people max), we'll be having the "reception" in his suite, which is HUGE and beautiful! I'm not sure where we'll do our dinner yet, I'm waiting to hear about the Moon Palace Restaurant Reviews on that related post before deciding. We're having our ceremony on the beach, and my dress is not traditional by any means as it's knee-length (but beautiful, I can't wait for it to be done!). How have all your plans come along? I read somewhere that there's another bride getting married on April 23rd, how exciting to have this awesome forum to meet all the lovely ladies before heading down for our weddings!
  19. As if I don't watch enough TLC already! I'll definitely be checking this out, thanks for the heads up
  20. Hey Lisa! Welcome to the boards from a fellow newbie. I probably spent 4 hours on this website yesterday getting some amazing tips etc (I know, I've been wondering where my life has gone also ). Have fun searching!
  21. Thanks for the welcomes everyone! I stayed at Cancun Palace in 2008, and we went to Moon Palace for the day for the spa/golf etc. It's so beautiful and I can't wait to be married there!
  22. So I've never been to SC but I've grown up here in BC. You'll love Vancouver! It really is as laid back as people say. The scenery is amazing and there's just so much diversity, I hope you enjoy your time here! I live in White Rock also, but work in Vancouver (Personal Training in Yaletown) and the waterfront is gorgeous down there. Hopefully you miss the colder months when you move up, but don't worry it's not as cold as the rest of the country! Talk again soon, Jenn
  23. Thanks Ash! I can't believe how organized some of you are. Hey thanks to you ladies who inadvertently directed me to Cutie Rosie's HUGE review, it was so so so helpful!
