Either way will look gorgeous, though. Oh- and do you have really long hair plus lots of detail on the back of your dress? Wearing your hair down could hide some of your dress depending on where it comes to in the back, you know? I concur with you... Both are pretty, but if you're getting married on the beach you might want to take into consideration the wind. And if your hais isn't naturally curly, or has a hard time in the humidity, you'll be in a fight trying to make it do what you want all night.
  6. This is my dress!!!! It's so pretty and flattering, you will sell it soon!!!
  7. Surprinsingly, not that nervous! I had a major freak out earlier this week. FI just took a new job and he travels 90% of the time, so not only have I only seen him on the weekends, but things just got worse. His bf is getting married this weekend and his a gm, then he leaves for Chicago. He'll come home next Friday, his bm is taking him on the BBQ trail in Austin for the weekend for his bachelor party, and then he leaves again. Basically, I won't see him until we get on the plane. I totally freaked out over it, but he told his bm that he could only be gone 1 night and the he couldn't bare to not see me for 3 weeks. Thank goodness! FINALLY got a hold of the wc at my resort and that cooled me down a lot. I'm not a very fussy person so it's been very easy going. I do have a bad case of bridal-brain that won't go away though! I'm just the type of person that likes to be very well organized and planned. I'm working on a huge excel sheet that I plan on posting when it's done. It will have items and cost on it. Hopefully it will help other brides in the future.
  8. Yes - we're getting married April 3rd... 14 days until we leave and 16 until we're married!!! WOOHOOO! Tracy - I'll let you know what we come up with. I was thinking about not using my gma's wedding band as my wedding band b/c I would like to pass it onto my daughter or granddaughter (keep the tradition going) but I def don't want to be left wedding bandless! FINALLY got contacted my wc at the resort. Communicaiton has been completely nonexistant and it's been stressing me out big time. I read a review of a girl that just got married there and it wasn't a great experience. Needless to say, I've been in freak mode all week. I sent her this 3 page email filled with q's, she responded and everything is ok! Next thing to stress about is our ahr. We set the date of April 17th and we were going to have it at our fav local brewery but the roof collapsed in the recent 1+ foot of snow that we had, and won't be fixed until mid-summer. And, they lost all their beer when the roof collapsed so they won't be able to brew again until early fall. We're thinking about calling the whole thing off. FI had his little heart set on going there too
  9. Good to know about being able to carry on actual sized bottles. Thanks Tracy! We have 2 wedding bands b/c I found out that my mom is giving me my grandmother's wedding band, and I'm giving Shawn his grandfather's wedding band as a gift on our wedding day. He actually made his 1st wedding band on his own (he took a jewlery class in college). We had looked at his gpa's band a while back, but it was so tiny it wouldn't even fit on my pinky, and b/c of the design we thought it would be very difficult to have it sized to fit him. The guy making my wedding band, also made my ering, said he could size the ring for me. Nobody knows about me giving him the ring except for his gma (obviously) and I just know that it'll mean the world to him. They were very close. I don't really know how we're going to work 2 wedding bands, but we'll figure it out!
  10. FI clothes are going in my dress bag. I've been thinking about packing non-stop, but fotunately I'm a pack-rat and not to worried about the clothes... just want to make sure that I'm not fogetting anything for the ceremony. Sand ceremony set tears of joy packets and bubbles for chairs chair sashes fabric for yuppa towels w/ sand dollar prayer Easter eggs (yes I stuffed eggs w/ candy for Easter Sunday, I've officially gone bazerk!) garter veil, hair piece, dress & FI suite (all going into dress bag) 2 pairs of wedding shoes (wedges for sand & heals for reception) my wedding folder (being carried on w/ me, will have receipts in it) starfish place cards ribbon for my bouquet rings (we 2 wedding bands each) Mom's bringing the guest book On a side note - does anyone know if the 3 ounce in 1 quart bag apply for checked bags to? Or is this only for carry on bags?
  11. Oh my gosh you're making me so nervous! We're getting married here on Easter weekend and the communication is non existant! I was hoping that it would at least improve when we get there, but now I'm not so certain. Did you bring a lot of decorations with you? We're bringing chair shashes, fabric for the chuppah, and place cards. Did you have to pay for the sound system for the ceremony?
  12. I ordered all my fabric and ribbon from this site. It was cheap and came in quickly... Highly recommend!!!
  13. You could check out Tommy Bahama too. They're a bit expensive, but they're made quit large, and they go up to a few XX's.
  14. Update! I just went to the VS website and looks like I was given a coupon at check out to reduce the price of the bikini to $15, they're normally $24, which is still pretty good considering most are $15-$20 for top and then again for the bottom. Here's the link:Victoria's Secret - Triangle bikini set I checked my receipt and the coupon code popped up when I placed my order. Maybe it will do the same for you?
  15. Oh my gosh Michele, I'm soooo sorry!!!! I don't know what I was thinking when everyone was talking about buying bathing suites, I was just in la-la-land.... I know how you feel about spending $300 at VS, I almost did the same thing, and then I randomly saw the link for honeymoon stuff, and I thought I could find some cute clothes there... that's how I found the $15 bikini's. I'm sooooo sorry!
  16. Glad to hear that *most everyone had a good weekend. Tracy - sorry you're not feeling well, hope you get to feelin' like yourself soon! Michele - I'm so glad that the flood didn't affect to much, especially your wedding stuff. I bought several items from VS 1 1/2 weeks ago online, and they came in the mail within 5 days. I did the slow ground delivery too, so you should have your items in before you leave. ***Thirfty buy: you can purchase bikini's for $15 (top and bottom) from VS if you click on the honeymoon option, you will see it there. This is what I bought and I"m really happy with the. They don't come in to many colors, but it's still a nice bathing suite. Considering that their cheapest bikinis are $15 for top and then antother $15 for the bottom I think this is the way to go. I bought several starfish and sand dollars yesterday online and I can't wait to get them in. I decided to use the starfish as name cards for dinner and I'm going to use the sand dollars for the sand dollar prayer. You should really check out this site: Sand Dollars, Starfish and Seashells for sale, I found it from another girl on here that was very happy with her order, they are so reasonably priced too! Once I get my final orders in I'll take pics of everything completed and post them.
  17. This place is awesome! I just placed my order today and I can't wait to get everything in! We're having a very small wedding so I didn't need as much as others, but still, can't wait! AND, very reasonably priced
  18. Wow it's been quite on here for a few days... how ackward, lol Hope everyone's bachelorette party went well this weekend. I had my lingerie and bachelorette party and it was awesome! We had dinner at Bucca de Beppo (family style Italian) and then they took me to the Glass Cactus which is a super nice club... My friends did such an awesome job, they booked a vip table w/ bottle service and we had an absolutle blast! I can only hope everyone else's was as fun as mine! FI went to a friends bachelor party (they're getting married this weekend, ug) and they're jelous at how much fun we all had Got my personalized towels in this weekend, and make cute little ties to wrap them in that are also personlized w/ people's names. Things are defintly starting to come together and I'm getting super excited! 2 1/2 more weeks!
  19. Meg - I would be livid if that were to happen to my FI and you have every right to be completely upset with the whole group! The boys for knowingly crossing the line and not caring and the "friend" who abnoxously left you in the dark, and FI (just a little) for allowing it to happen while he was there. Yes, he came straight home and told you, but it could have been stopped before the lap dance (I run my house like a tight ship, lol)... Yes, I already have a veil, so borrowing one is out of the question. I'm usually pretty bad about borrowing things from my mom and I'm sure she'll have something that I'll want to use for the wedding.

  21. Tracy - I've been thinking about the something new, old, borrowed and blue... Our colors are navy blue and white, and I'll be carrying a bouquet of white calla lilie's and the stems will be wrapped in navy blue ribbon, so that takes care of the blue. Something new is the the new life together. Something old will be my grandmothers wedding band that my mom is giving to me on our weddind day. I'm a little stuck on the something borrowed part. What are you girls borrowing?? Any suggestions??
