  1. VERY, Very nice - especially the color. Are they insulated? Did you submit your own design or did you have to choose from theirs?
  2. The second one is more flattering on you, although both dresses are incredible AND I'm partial to Maggie Sottero's designs. You should go with the dress that evoked the most emotion/feeling from you. I've heard and seen so many times that when you find "the one" (dress) YOU KNOW. Nevermind what the pictures of the dress didn't spark a rise out of your FI. It's someone else in the dress, not the love of his life. Go with the dress that you absolutely love and one that won't leave you with worry or guilt.
  3. How soon before departing for the wedding would you ladies recommend having this done? Brandonsgirl: where in the L.A. area do get yours done?
  4. Love this thread! My goal was to lose 60lbs. I got off to a slow start in January, picked up drastically in February but really fell off in April. This will be a great support group. I'm down 16lbs but want the other 44 off before October, when the dress shopping will commence. I'd like to have my dress ordered by Dec 2010 (January 2011 at the absolute latest). I'm printing the whole thread now so I can catch up by reading the posts while I'm on the treadmill. We can do it, Ladies!!!
  5. I've done falsies on many occasions and I just love them. We are having lots of events the weekend of the wedding and I don't know how well they will stay on. Sometimes the glue itches my lids a bit as well. I considered Latisse because I plan to spend lots of time in the water - pool and beach - and want to have that glam factor even then. Vain, huh?
  6. Welcome MookerlovesGrover! I used to live in Poulsbo! (Military, of course.) I miss the scenery but not the rain.

Totally worth every penny in my opinion Thanks for friending me on FB, your pictures are gorgeous! Is there any chance that you have photos of the decorations that you listed above. It sounds like you indeed got a great deal. Do they have an online catalogue or is there one you can email me?
  8. PPPD: Try a small milkshake a day. I'm not sure if your digestive issues will allow for the milk, but if so, it works wonders for weight gain. I used this trick for my son during his battle with cancer. It's small, but packed with calories. And you're right, someone does love us the way we are. Thanks for the encouragement!
  9. You are a DIY Queen! I'd like to use the door hangers, luggage tags (I'm PM'ing you for the sayings), and chapstick. I looked through the whole thread for more info about the doorhangers, specifically the paper, but didn't see anything. Did you cut these out by hand or is there some sort of pre-cut paper out there?
  10. Thanks for starting this thread! I have been so concerned about hair - for me and my wedding party - I've been trying to figure out how much I need to save up just to fly in my stylist from Memphis. (Mind you, I live in California now, but she is incredible.) Even though my resort has a salon that's gotten good reviews, I'm still not sold on using them for "chocolate hair." I'm at a total loss about the hair thing because Mexico in June is HOT, HUMID, and my FI is begging me not to put tracks in my hair. I've been considering getting a weave since I recently got back in the gym to lose 60lbs. I'll be back to put up posts once I print all eleven pages that I've missed on this thread so I won't be redundant about something already addressed. BDW makes for great reading on the treadmill!
  11. I've never seen hangover chasers before. All of the guest rooms at our all-inclusive resort have stocked liquor dispensers, so this hangover kit will come in handy. Thanks for the ideas!
  12. Good one, thanks! I saw that the website lists the hangover help info that's inserted into the kit. I think that I'll put this info in one of my pre-wedding newsletters.
  13. VGirl, thanks SO much for sharing your slideshow. Everytime I see new pics from MP weddings, I get excited all over again! Love your wedding colors; the parasols gave the chapel a great look - very unique. Was that your aisle runner or theirs? I've seen in older photos that it was red. (If they've changed it, then I won't have to order one to hide the red.) You looked incredible! I can't wait to read the review!!!
  14. OMG, Chris! I love, love, love your dress!!! Heidilynn: My TA quoted me prices for Moon Palace (4 days/3nights) for less than $850pp. Of course, it doesn't include airfare, which I'm sure will be much pricier from Canada. Check out the reviews on MP. They have great info and great pics - as I'm sure the other reviews do. This research should help you to narrow down a list for your TA to research. As far as the weight loss, I'm so glad to have a partner-in-suffering. We can work together to look hot in our gowns just like Peterpanpixiedust AKA Chris.
  15. I've also read that you should inform your guest to sign up for the tours on arrival to the resort. There is supposedly a special desk in the lobby for this. The free tours have limited numbers - depending on which on you choose - and they fill up quickly. I plan to include this information for our guests in our newsletter and on our website closer to our wedding date.
  16. Jodimichelle: double-check with your WC about shipping items. I read someplace that MP does not accept shipments for brides anymore. I actually thought about buying a short-term post office box to have a Cancun address to ship to. I changed my mind when I read the horror stories of other BDW brides who shipped wedding items (one was the actual wedding gown) and they didn't make it on time, got there damaged, or didn't make it at all. I also heard that international shipping rates were ridulous. So far, the general concensus on this forum is that it's best to just pay the airline's extra baggage fees and have your receipts ready for customs! 17. I'm still trying to lose weight before I go dress shopping. I've given myself a deadline of October to have it off. Sixteen pounds down, 44 more to go...
  18. It's my understanding that they make rain preparations for the outdoor weddings. I saw a recent review of a bride who married in the gazebo while it was raining. I'm pretty sure that it is enclosed with glass of some sort. Maybe the rain back-up plan is only for the beach weddings and outdoor receptions...it's a great question for the WCs. I will add it to my collection of WC questions. (I started a thread recently soliciting WC questions from past and present MP brides.) SouthernSweetie, you made a good point about rain...so what I was wondering is that I know you can relocate inside if it does happen to rain...but is that something that needs to be booked with your WC before hand, or do they automatically account for something like that happening? I mean would they book 2 weddings at the same time but in different locations (one on the beach and one in the gazebo?)
  19. Would you mind sharing where you found the Tiffany Blue sashes? So far, I can only find aqua.
