  1. Wow! Your bags are great. Do you have the Moon Palace Restaurant Guide on a template? I was planning to include one also, but why reinvent the wheel Additionally, did Vistaprint design the Spanish/English brochure or is that your design?
  2. Ooooo, I like these! They would definitely add to the decor. Thanks for sharing!

No worries...most MP brides have had this concern, including me. My Miami WC usually takes about a week to respond to my emails. The brides with dates that are approaching get priority. Apparently, slow emails is the norm for MP but on all reviews that I've read so far, but they also say that they stressed over nothing - even the ones who were freaking out on this forum. Most other brides who have done a site visit reported that they emailed questions upfront but the on-site WCs' availability is pretty much limited to the brides that are there. (Each bride is supposed to get the full attention of their assigned WC.) They just kind of did things on their own. Take LOTS of pic for those of us who can't do a site visit, especially of the Grand side since it is new and not much posted AND the reception venues. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

We were gonna get chair bows too but I decided that renting them at the resort was too expensive and buying them and bringing them would be a waste too. I mean, what am I going to do with 40 chair bows? Instead, I am just going to get two of them and have them put it on the bride and groom chairs. There is a thread on here called "freecycle" that hooks up BTB with brides who have chair bows that they no longer need. So far, it looks like it might be a hit. I guess its along the lines of the starfish passing idea but without the journal.
  6. Hi Everyone! Veronica AKA VGirl just posted her review from her wedding last month. It's very detailed with pics! Check it out...
  7. Famvir is a form of acyclovir that is specifically formulated for cold sores. Ask your physician for prescriptions for the oral (pills) and the topical (cream). All of the meds listed in this thread are anti-virals. The "official" name for cold sores is herpes simplex, so it would definitely make sense that Valtrex works (it's originally prescribed for herpes zoster - genital herpes). It's always good to have a fillled prescription on hand if you suffer from cold sores since the outbreaks are usually triggered by stress. If you start the prescription(s) NOW, you should be good by next week. Jean, RN
  8. Veronica, thanks so much for "paying it forward." Your review was so detailed that I'm printing it to highlight some of your wonderful advice and ideas. I really appreciate the time that you put into helping to make the rest of us MP Brides' special day even more spectacular! Now I'm even more excited!

  10. We are using a variation of orange - coral - and tiffany blue. Our accent colors are fuschia and lime green. I got the inspiration from the Real Touch florist that I'm using. I will post the bouquet pics as soon as I figure out how to put them up.

I used Publisher and it had a nice newsletter format that I used. I'd love to see it up close; can you please email it to [email protected]?
  12. Great info. Thanks, Girls! I assumed that I could use the bucks for add-ons. I'm glad that this was cleared up.
  13. I guess the transfers depends on who your TA is. Mine included transfers in our package price. She gave us a rate of $1664 per couple for 4 days and 3 nights. Is this similar to what everyone else is quoted?
  14. I'm going with an outside photographer, even if it means that I have to cut back on other things. I like Moments that Matter and Tamms Photography based on their professional websites and the reviews that I've read on here. I don't want to gamble on our pics being less than stellar. One of the many valuable lessons that I learned when my son passed away 2 years ago was take advantage of every moment to create and capture memories. It's the memories that get me through the days when I hit rough spots and having pictures are just make the memories that much more special. After all of the madness and fun are over; and the money is spent, your photos will be with you. People who weren't able to attend can live vicariously through your stories and photos. They will be what you look upon fondly on certain special occasions. To me, it's not worth taking chance. CeeCee, since you only need a short time-frame, you may want to consider sharing a photographer with another bride marrying on your day or the preceding or following day. I've seen posts for this also. As far as I know, the TTD is not available, but that's a great question for the WC - let us know what she says...There have been a few BDW members that go with the resort photographer and hire an outside one strictly for TTD. 'Just my two cents, everyone!
  15. HAPPY WEDDING WEEKEND!!! I'm loving your FI's dress shirt, and the sandals and dresses for you BMs; where did you find them? CONGRATS!!!!

I've checked the forums for recommendations on DJ's but all of the threads are pretty old, from like 2008. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated You've booked your photographer already?!? I sent an email to Tamms Photography months ago and never got a response. I didn't follow-up on it because I assumed that it was waaaaayyyy too early. Now I feel like such a slacker! I'd better get back on it. I really like Moments That Matter too. Maybe I should go with them....hmmmm.....
  17. So far, my Save-the-Dates have gone out. I just finished a newsletter to email our guests. We plan to send them out every 2-4 months just to keep everyone excited. I'm planning to start dress shopping in the fall because I'm trying to lose 40 more pounds. Wish me luck!
  18. I just found an article on Yahoo about a new nail polish guaranteed not to chip or smudge for 14 days! It's called CND Shellac. I haven't researched it yet to see what the available colors are and what the other reviews say. Here is the link to the article: Would you believe?a manicure that really lasts 14 days? - Fashion + Beauty on Shine In the article are links to the manufacturers website and salons that provide this treatment. Has anyone else heard of or tried this manicure treatment?
  19. Hi and Welcome! You may want to consider all-inclusives. One of the main reasons we chose Moon Palace is because not only is it beautiful and can accommodate various guests' needs (activities, family-friendly...) but they also offer free events depending on how many guest rooms you book. With at least 25 rooms, you can get unlimited free events - this included food and drinks. Moon Palace is a part of Palace Resorts, so you would have lots of options in RM. This is saving us thousands of dollars - literally. I have an incredible TA who helped me to choose the best one for us and has been awesome through the rest of our process so far. Your TA is definitely your go-to person at this point. Congrats and Happy Planning!
  20. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. I can't wait to see your review and pics. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
