I haven't even made a to do list (looks like I know what I will be doing today). :-) My biggest freak out is the photography. I have heard mixed reviews, but I am in an out of contract work, so we are hesitant to book our own photographer to come because if money gets tight, we can just pick a less expensive package at the resort. What are you ladies doing for photography? Have you looked into sharing a photographer with another bride at all- I know that saved me quite a bit. If there's someone who's getting married the same week as you are they may be willing to split the cost of travel with you. Something to think about any way. I go back and forth with the wedding stress at this point. Most of the time I feel fine but every once in a while it really hits me that there is only three months left-eeek!

I'm a little worried about getting the pool snack bar, we have 29 ppl coming so I think we will automatically get it - but what happens if there are 3 large weddings in one day? First booked first served? I highly doubt there will be 3 weddings on my date, it's not high season for tourists but I was just wondering what happens in that situation... I've been worried about the same thing, honestly. I have 26 people so far including us but that's not really a lot. I really hope we get it. I think I may check with the wedding co-coordinator at the resort a bit closer to the time (once we have the final head count) and see if she can let me know how it's looking. I wonder if they'll do that or if you just have to wait and see.
  5. I think the orange would look pretty, plus it would really pop against your dress. I love orange for destination weddings- it's so bright and tropical looking.
  6. I think that it's fine to throw in some brighter colours as an accent. Maybe work small touches of these colours into the bridesmaids bouquets and a few others details just to keep things consistent, but I think that this combination will be really pretty.

What I mentioned above is that it is PREFERRED that you tip in CUC then they do not have to go to a bank/CADECA to exchange money. I am getting my information from my fiancee who works at a resort in Cuba. If others have any questions please just PM me. Thanks for the info. I would think that loonies and twoonies would be heavy and awkward to carry anyway. A 10% surcharge on American money would suck, too- I wasn't aware of that. Good to know.
  8. Hi Theresa, welcome to the forum. I find this site has been a lifesaver for me, as well. I hope your planning goes well!

I'm still learning how to navigate this site so I have some more researching to do. Thanks!!! :-) Welcome to the forum! If you're already picturing yourself there that's a pretty good sign! I agree that it's good to have a lot of options for pictures, too. Good luck with your decision, my advice is after you've done your research you should just go with your gut. Have fun researching!

Bubba Keg mugs Pashminas and Something for guys (any ideas) Welcome to Mexico brochure (i'll have to make it on vistaprint. need to find a good template!) First aid kit: tylenol, aloe, hand sanitizer, band aids, tums I want to take a trip to Target or Dollar Store and hope to find a few additions to add in. I haven't thought much about the actual bag I'll be putting things in... Hmmm.. maybe cigars for the guys? Or little inflatable beach balls? Guys can be so much harder to shop for sometimes- for me anyways. Good luck with your shopping.

  12. Welcome to the forum! It wont be long now, will it? Be sure and pop by the April brides thread, there are a lot of girls getting married in April here.
  13. Welcome to the forum, Heather. Wow, 11 years, good for you two! I'm sure you'll find a lot of info here- have fun planning your wedding.
  14. Welcome to the forum! It's always nice to see more Canadians. Check out some of the reviews on the site if you're looking to find a good resort- there's lots of information here. A travel agent can be a good way to go, too, I don't know if I could manage without mine!

Hehe, that makes the decision so easy! Next! I think I'm the odd one out when it comes to things we're doing because I'm not doing the OOT bags, just giving people the mugs as kind of a welcome gift and then the albums at dinner. Not doing OOT bags is saving me a bit of time and $$ but they do look pretty fun to put together. It's pretty interesting to see the things people are doing differently or not doing at all. I like the fact that with a DW you can kind of pick and choose what you want to include- I like having that flexibility.

Win win! It could just be that you're not used to it, too. I'm not a ring person except for my e-ring and because it's "top heavy" with the stone in the front it tends to shift around a bit on my finger. It felt weird at first, but it can't get over my knuckle at all.
  17. I think I'm the oddball on this one- I take it off as soon as I get home from work every evening. I've got a little dish for it and that's where it goes. I think I got the habbit from my mother, she always took her rings off (except for her wedding band) as soon as she got home from work, too. I hate showering with it on, and this way I won't forget to take it off if I'm doing some cleaning around the house. It seems to keep it a bit cleaner/ less scratched this way. I'll probably try to keep my wedding band on all of the time, though.

I'm with you Kim, if I don't hear who is coming or not by tomorrow (after I used your letter Meghan) I am assuming (with good reason) they are not coming.. and if they do they just don't get a bag or favour! So, I've been having some thoughts about this, too. If I were to order favours now, and my numbers go up more than I'm anticipating, could I do one favour per couple? I'm leaning towards mini photo albums right now and technically couples who live together wouldn't need two.... is this tacky or practical/ reasonable? This seems like common sense to me but for all I know I'd be breaking some major etiquette law or something...sigh. Any opinions? Letting the last minute people go without is pretty tempting, too!
  19. Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your recent engagment. If you're looking to research different destinations you've come to the right place! Happy planning.
