  1. That looks great! You've got a lot of good information on there, too. Nice job, thanks for posting it.
  2. I'm not much of a gambler, either, I mostly want to go for the shows and the shopping. I've heard that there's so much to do! Yep, the mug thing was annoying. I've found that it's been little things like that that have been the biggest PIA, though. Strange- and to be fair somethings that I thought would be hard or a pain have gone really smoothly. That's life for you. ETA- I agree- this weekend thing and not telling you anything is getting a bit out of hand. I don't blame you for being stressed- I'd like to know where FI was going to be also, to be honest.
  3. So, I've got to take back my suggestion about using 4imprint. They've been jerking me around for three weeks now until I finally canceled my order. I'd select a mug from their website, place the order, and then someone would get back to me (the first time two weeks after I placed the order) to tell me it was no longer in stock. Four times I went through this with them- what a waste of time. I'm just going with discount mugs now and to hell with the extra fees to have it shipped- it'll probably won't work out to be more expensive anyway. I'll let you know!
  4. Mmmm... all this talk of beaches makes me want to go even more! So just to vent a bit I've had an annoying issue with ordering my travel mugs. I found some on sale at 4imprint three weeks age with a minimum order amount that was reasonable. I figured that was great- cheap mugs, no need to pay duty. Well, two weeks after I submit my order (two weeks!) they email me and say my mugs are no longer in stock, and send me some pictures of different mugs to pick. So I pick a different style thinking "oh well, I'm not fussy, mugs are mugs..." and two days later they email me saying the ones they suggested are not in stock. Fast forward to yesterday when I ended up canceling my order because they've repeated this process twice more! Aaarrggh. So I finally just ordered them through discount mugs this morning- I'll pay the friggin duty. I can't believe they wasted three weeks of my time! OK, vent over. Thanks for listening!
  5. The resort I'm staying at is in Cayo Santa Maria- one of the little islands on the northern part of Cuba. It's still pretty undeveloped so we figured it would be quieter, and the beach is supposed to be spectacular! I think Mexico will be one of our next vacations because I've heard that the food is spectacular and the resorts are awesome, too. We also want to go to Vegas soon- neither of us have been yet. Maybe later in the year or next year. Vegas has been our running joke during wedding planning- we were really tempted to do the wedding there and every time planning gets stressful we've been saying that Vegas is looking better and better.
  6. I've only ever been to DR, too, and we were going to go there originally. My parents suggested Cuba because they really like it, and then my TA sent me info for the resort we ended up going with in Cuba and I just fell in love with it. So hopefully it'll be a good choice! Honestly, though, Tracy- Punta Cana is gorgeous! Amazing beach- we loved it. I've been there and La Romana and Punta Cana was so much better- you won't be disappointed.
  7. If he wants to ask him in person I think you should respect this, but he should tell you when he plans on doing this. The wedding is less than six months from now and it's about that time, you know? FI and I waited until our MOH and BM had already booked their trips so as not to put too much pressure on them- could he have a reason like this maybe? Or possibly he just thinks he has a lot of time and doesn't realize it's only polite to give some notice. It's definitely inappropriate for you to talk to FBIL's girlfriend about this, though- this is between FI and his brother at the end of the day.

It really can seem greedy to invite people to a shower who weren't invited to a wedding- kind of like saying "you didn't rate an invite to the main event, but feel free to give a gift anyway." I'll make an exception for a workplace shower- sometimes co-workers will decide to do something like this, or give you a gift regardless of whether you've invited them or not- but on the whole it's not necessary to have a big shower for a small wedding. Can't have the (wedding) cake and eat it, too. Just my opinion, though.
  9. Blah- don't even talk to me about cold, ladies, I don't want to hear it! Actually it's not too bad here right now- only -20C (which my online converter says is -4F) but the wind is crazy today, makes it feel much colder. I'm ready for Cuba now! Last year when we were in Punta Cana it was +30C and it was -30 here on the same day. It'll still be winter here in April when we go- crazy huh?
  10. I'm going through 4imprint - Promotional Travel Mugs at 4imprint . A lot of their mugs have a minimum number of 50 or more but there are some with minimums of 25-36. They're not badly priced and they have mugs that are on sale/clearance all of the time, too. Good luck!
  11. Dislike! (I hate salty things). Chocolate covered coffee beans?
  12. I love those shoes! They're gorgeous- very nice find.
  13. Welcome and congrats on your engagement. These boards have been such a great help to me while I've been planning- I'm sure you'll be the same way. Enjoy!

I don't know what to do....gamble and have it in December(I know the weather will be better then here in Winnipeg at least) or wait until Spring Break 2011(it would be late March). Any advice?? I'd go with March. It's only a few months later, it's not so close to Christmas and it's supposed to be a great time of year to go to Cuba. It sounds so much further away when you say 2011, but it's really only three months difference. Just my opinion.
  15. I'm so sorry- you must be exhausted! I'm a two job woman, too, I spend one of my days off every week contracting myself out. Luckily for me it's great experience in my field and I love it, plus I'm a bit of a workaholic so that helps. Only having one day off per week wears me out, though- I can't imagine not having any! Plus your second job sounds really physically demanding! I would suggest cutting back your hours before the wedding if FI gets another job or you'll be a wreck! Trust me- you don't want to burn yourself out.
