Getting married in cuba which resort should i choose??
Melidell replied to frannkie's topic in Cuba Weddings
I guess my advice is the same- check out threads for both places. Also- give the wedding packages a good look over and see if one place has a package that works better for you. I'm sure which ever one you pick will be gorgeous, though. It's good to do your homework, but keep in mind that every place has some bad reviews so try not to let it stress you too much. -
Congrats on your engagement and welcome to the forum. It's always so great to see another Cuba bride on here. I'll see you around in the Cuba thread, I'm sure. Have a great time with your planning.

I love your cake topper! That is so sweet- and I like that you have your dog on it, too. I got one from a vendor on Etsy, too- mine's a seashell one from Shellscapes. Etsy is so great- I was doing some more shopping there just yesterday. Here's what I bought: Etsy :: CUSTOM gold leaf edge ring bearer bowl - as seen in Southern Weddings Magazine- the original modern heirloom by Palomas Nest- for wedding- commitment ceremony With the same text but my wedding date and Etsy :: Black French Veiling w Feathers Rhinestones --- 15 Colors Available but with black feathers and white veiling- to put in once I take my veil out for dinner. I think I love the shopping part of wedding planning the best!

Looking for Candian Photographer for Cuba Wedding
Melidell replied to Crystalballl's topic in Destination Wedding Vendors
I love my photographer, here's her website: ShutterBrugs Photography - Award Winning Photography, Wedding, Portraits, Maternity, Children, Event Photography Check out her galleries and you'll find a lot of pictures from Cuba. I found her really reasonable, and she is really great to work with. She's done a lot of DWs, too, and that is so important. Good luck finding someone. -

We think maybe just one would be easier, but I worry about having an only child (I love having a brother- he was my best friend when we were kids and moved around all of the time). I also don't want to have kids much past the age of 35 really, just for health reasons, and I'm 33 now so we'd have to see how quickly it happens for us. We'll see how we feel after the first one. This is assuming that we can have kids naturally, we're not going to go to any extreme measures if we can't.

At least she lives 20 mins away, not a walk over. But I love her to death! I guess try to tell her as much as possible, which I am sure you already do! I can't speak for Meghan, but I find it hard to be this far away from my Mom. We talk almost every day, though. She was able to come and visit me last year and I travelled down to Edmonton with her on her way back so that we could go dress shopping together- we had such a blast! I send her lots of emails about wedding stuff, too, she always gives me an honest opinion about everything. We're thinking kids right after the wedding. I don't see any reason to wait- we'll have been together seven years by that time and we have our house now, too. Plus my clock has really started ticking these last few years!

Just giving this thread a bump before it falls off of the page! So, MLD brides, where are you in your planning? I've just about finished- just waiting for my mugs and favours to arrive and I have a few small DIY things to finish (like programs) a bit closer to the time. Is anyone bringing any decorations like table settings, or are you just going with what's there (like me)? Has anyone been dealing with Melissa at all? I sent her an email with a few questions a week or two ago and she did (sort of) answer them but basically told me to email her about a month before the wedding to wrap some things up. She also told me that the location for the reception is decided once we're down there- which is a bummer because I'd like to know ahead of time if we'll have a private dinner or be in a restaurant. I get the feeling she's a bit useless- hope I'm wrong about that but I guess it doesn't really matter as long as the on site coordinator is good.

Congrats on your engagement! It sounds like there's lots of information here about your resort- that's awesome. I hope you find it helpful. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum. I don't have any info about that personally, but if you search around you may find some reviews from others who have gotten married there. Good luck!

Congrats on your engagement, Zaisha! That is a cool name, btw. Be sure to pop by the Cuba thread on the forum, you may find some info there that will help you narrow down your resort. Happy planning and don't be shy- jump right in and start posting.

You're not alone. I really don't want a shower, or gifts, or anything like that. We actually requested no gifts and haven't registered anywhere. We have too much stuff already and the people who are attending will be paying so much too go I just don't feel right about them giving any more. On the other hand, though, I don't think there is anything wrong with having a shower, and if it means a lot to your mother and MOH then maybe you should let them have their fun.

Long lost cousin invites me to her wedding?
Melidell replied to LadyTrunck's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
You don't have to invite her- you're having a small wedding, she's not and there's a difference. As for hers, go if you want to and decline if you don't. I don't find it that weird that she invited you, though. In my family if one cousin gets an invite then they all need to get one and you send invites to family you never see at any other time. That's one of the reasons I went small and non traditional, otherwise it would have been a zoo (I have a huge extended family). So maybe it was a courtesy family invite rather than an invite because she expects one from you, too. Besides, if she has her own wedding going on it would probably make it harder for her to get to yours anyway. -
What Necklace should I pick??

We like to keep it low key for Valentine's day. I'll probably grab a bottle of wine and make us a nice dinner at home. We have a no gift rule for Valentine's, too, because we go pretty crazy at Christmas.

He even thinks that pretty much as soon as I've had a baby I'll be heading back to work (not even using up the one year maternity!!!) and that's that. And nevermind that a lot of day cares won't even take infants under 12months or more these days because of liability. I sure hope he changes that tune down the road! I'm a bit worried about staying home for maternity- scared I'll lose my mind. FI'd love it if I stayed home for a bit after we had kids. I've been telling him I want to split the parental leave and have him stay home while I go back to work after six months... we'll see what happens I guess. I've been a bit worried about the daycare thing, too. There's a real shortage of child care in this town, I'm nervous about finding something decent when the time comes. Oh well, one thing at a time I guess- need to get the wedding out of the way and then worry about the kid thing.
