  1. I couldn't sign in all day, either! Work went by so slowly without being able to take a break and come on here now and again. This has been happening a lot lately for some reason. I just realized the other day that I'm just about done with my planning now. I've got my DIY projects all ready to be printed up and put together, my mugs (hopefully) ordered now and I just got my favours in the mail yesterday. I've done a bunch of shopping this week and I don't think that there's anything else to buy. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I have asked her if she can afford it and truly wants to come and she always says yes, she can afford it and she wouldnt miss it for the world. I am just getting so worried that she is going to bail on me. I dont get it. I even offered for her to come over and we'd book it all together and still no. She can handle it she says. Its just really starting to irritate me. Anyone else running into issues like mine? If so, how are you handling it?? Wow, that really sucks. I hope she pulls through for you and soon. I think sometimes people just don't realize how stressful this stuff can get for us. She's cutting it pretty close for time, though. I'd probably give her a deadline at this point, but I'm not sure that that's the best plan. Quote: Originally Posted by echo2_62 Ugh I am not having a good 24hrs right now!! So yesterday I figured out what I wanted for my mugs and decided to wait until the evening so I could run the actual mug colours by FI. I had two picked out that I wanted his okay on, otherwise I would've just placed the order from my office. Well wouldn't you know it that I go to show him the mug colours last night - and one isn't available anymore! It sounds like I might have to wait another month for them to come in too! So I'm going to call today and see what they can tell me. After that, I figured well since I can't order my mugs I had better get off my bum and order the guys pants to give them extra time in case alterations need to be done. So I start putting through *that* order only to find out that one of my two colours of linen wasn't available online. I submitted a query through their support desk to find out they are out of stock for that too!! I'm waiting to hear back about when they might have more in again and if I would have enough time or if I'll have to just pick another colour. So all in all, completely not a productive evening last night. My sister, my niece and I are going to order all the sandals for the wedding party tonight and then on the way to the bus this morning (50feet from my car) I slipped on some ice and fell and landed on a really weird spot on the side/back of my leg and have this huge bruise already which sucks mostly because I sit at my desk all day and it puts pressure on the bruise! I seriously need some alcohol in my coffee this morning!! But now for the GREAT news of the day.... I am lucky enough that one of my oldest childhood friends makes her own jewelry and she was willing to suffer through my horrible ability of describing what I wanted to make my hair piece for me. Too bad about your crappy morning! What is it with these mugs, huh? I thought they were supposed to be one of the easier things and they're nothing but hassle! I'm not able to see the jewelry you've posted, but it sounds gorgeous. You're lucky to have a friend who does that kind of thing- it makes it that much more special when someone you care about makes something. 4. The child support agreement would have to be changed if she moves in with you. He would not be paying for her if she's in your home even though he would be responsible for the younger child. These kind of agreements can be changed if circumstances change, however there will probably be legal fees involved. Ultimately, though, that's between he and his ex- I'd really try to stay out of it. I agree that you don't get the luxury of worrying about having your husband to yourself when you're a stepparent. His children should be his first priority, always, above even you. She's part of the package and while I know it's probably hard sometimes it's what you sign on for when you marry someone who has children. You're not just marrying him but his children as well, and that's for better or worse also. Private time is something that a lot of parents have to do without.
  5. Like- the only way I'll eat it! Red wine?

Summer doesn't last that long but it's actually pretty warm. There's 24 hour sunlight starting in June until August and the days are really long for a while before and after that so things can really heat up. We're usually in the 20's but around 30 isn't that uncommon. We BBQ a lot on our deck and it's awesome when you have people over because it doesn't get dark! It's hard to sleep, though. I grow some flowers and lettuce and things in pots on my deck, too but you can't have a regular garden outside with the permafrost which sucks. We have a plot at the community greenhouse, though, and we can grow all sorts of things there. Last year my sunflowers were over seven feet and they weren't the giant variety, either, and my hot peppers were awesome the year before. This year I'm going to try corn. I think we're going to build our own little greenhouse at home next year- I love to garden.
  7. I think the other nice thing about not going all out with the decorations is that you won't have to worry about getting it set up or getting someone else to set it up while you're away. You can just spend the days leading up to the wedding and the wedding day relaxing and not worrying about last minute details. I don't mind spending some time with wedding planning now, but once I get down there I'm on vacation!
  8. I love your shoes! The earrings are really gorgeous, too. Very nice- they'll look beautiful with your dress.
  9. I love the pink- it'll make your dress more individual plus it'lll really pop in the pictures. Are you doing pink shoes to match also? That would look really awesome and tie it all together, too.

I told him the only way i would be moving there is if I get my land with two horses!! It started off as one horse but then I realized that one would be lonely and needed a friend - so I upped the anti to TWO horses! I have no shame in bribing him to make me move to a place that has LONG stretches of -48 degree weather. Hehehe, and the list of requirements doesn't end there actually. Other items included were... attached garage, heated car seats, indoor parking at job.... all items aimed at me having minimal exposure outside during the winters there. Hehehe and I want to open a boarding kennel/groomers but since we'll have 'all that land' for me, my horses and my dogs then I can just have the kennel at home anyways so that's as far as I'd need to go for work! Woohoo!! LOL, all these plans and ZERO intention of ever moving to Manitoba! Yes, it's pretty brutal when it gets that cold. You guys get that occasionally in Alberta, too. You should see me all bundled up in my Canada Goose jacket and snow pants, big huge moon boots- it's pretty stylin. No one up here is too worried about fashion when it gets too cold, luckily.

Plus, IMO boxers tend to lean and snuggle in a LOT more than other breeds so the second you move or try to flip over in bed, your space is goooone! But I wouldn't trade it for the world. HAHAHA and one funny addition to the baby convo... I would totally sacrifice having kids if I could have like five or seven boxers running around the house! LOL! Mind you that would definitely mean living more in the country where they'd have lots and lots of space to run around in but I am totally good with that. It goes along with my life long dream of having two horses as well Don't you love dreams... My smaller dog is like that, too. She's about 65 pounds but she can curl herself up into the smallest little ball when she sleeps- she thinks she's a cat I think. She's got this huge dog bed but she just sleeps on one tiny corner of it. We don't let them on our bed, though- we'd have no place to sleep if we did (the big guy is 165 now and may get a bit bigger yet). Someday we'll go back home and live in the country. My parents have 50 acres out in the country in PEI and my Mom keeps offering me a few acres to build a house on if I want to come home (she's all about the bribery lol). I'd love to have a few Saint Bernards or Newfs then- right now we only have the space for one (barely). That won't be for years and years, though, maybe not until we retire- plus FI says he's not ready to live that close to the in-laws just yet.

But my parents both had lost their jobs at one point or another while I was growing up, so lucky they just had me to worry about. Especially with the economy now and days.I just want 1 lol (FI wants to, too bad for him, cause of my health issues) Feel free to use it- I think I stole it from another bride on here in the first place anyway. We're not having a flower girl or ring bearer but the bowls aren't too big so we'll just secure the rings to it and the best man or MOH can hold it (that's the plan right now, anyway- could change it down the road). Thanks for the perspective on the only child thing- maybe this way I'll feel less guilty if we stop at one. Quote: Originally Posted by echo2_62 Kimmy - your cake topper is so cute! LOL but that's our life so it would make sense too. Us too- we have two dogs and a cat so it would be pretty crowded. Plus our Saint Bernard is bigger than me now so he'd kind of take up all the space- just like real life I guess!
  14. I'm getting my photographer to make an album of wedding pictures for my parents and FI's Mom. They'll be customized just for them and be a nice keepsake. I'm also going to treat my Mom to something at the spa when we go down there so that we can go together- she'll love that.
