  2. Lisa-- you are gorgeous w/ both hair colors... I think you should go with whichever makes you feel most beautiful. You are going to get so many different opinions, but in the end, you need to feel fab! Paige- I cannot wait to see your dress- and about the photog- I wasn't happy with the most recent info. I originally got quoted $100 outside vendor fee. The girl that quoted me that price is no longer w/ the company, so the newer girl (Daniela, who as been great and sweet) said that their 2010 prices may have changed, and she would let me know. I'll post it AS soon as it's here. However, I'm having EM stay at the resort the night of my wedding, so technically, she should be considered a guest.... I will keep you posted!! I'm confused! Josie--- I want to see the pics on facebook!! I actually just saw your dress randomly on the -show us your dress- thread! Gorgeous!!
  3. So super excited!! It is COMPLETELY different from what I wanted. I didn't want to try on a million dresses, so I came with a vision of one. I liked it, but didn't want to limit myself. I told the sales lady to bring me whatever. When she brought this out, I hated it. I didn't want strapless, lace, a train, lots of detail.....and of course, I didn't tell her what I wanted, so I tried it on----and fell in love
  4. Ok guys! Here are the pics... I definitely found THE dress. The first one is the one that I originally went to get, but the second one stole my heart!
  5. Hey Guys!!! I am sorry I've been MIA since my 'big' 1st dress shopping announcement. GEEEZ it was horrible. I have no fam or friends out here, so I went alone. It was a hot day, I was hungry, irritated with traffic--- so on, so forth. But mostly I was NERVOUS! I was shaking. I love shopping more than life.....but this was bad. I forgot to get pics I was so nervous! I went again tonight, and I'm pretty sure I found the one. I say pretty sure because I am still obsessing over the photos of two VERY different dresses!!! I will defnitely post photos tomorrow---and catch up on the past few days. Sorry for the rant, next time I will talk WITH you and not AT you!
  6. I guess I'm tacky then! just kidding - but I had to actually change my wedding date. I did all of the invites myself and they took FOREVER, so I just added a little tag using the same paper, ink and ribbon saying 'due to circumstances beyond our control....' and this was my actual wedding date. I think whatever you choose will be just fine--- the ladies above had some great ideas! I wish I would have thought of these!!
  7. We ordered the fabric swatches on Friday night to compare colors. I ordered them at 7pm and they were shipped by 4 am that morn!! I was pleasantly surprised, and cannot wait for them to get here!
  8. Just booked our flight last night! Wedding is July 7, 2010 so we're about 8 1/2 months out. We got a great deal out of our little Monterey airport, which is usually very expensive! So excited!!
  9. This is the absolute best site for planning! Welcome, congrats, and Have fun!!
  10. Oh no--- I just read the horrible review that another BDW'er posted about this photog. I wish you the best of luck on this one...
  11. Josie: first off, your Mom is such an angel! I love how involved she is, she seems so great. I LOVE all of your stuff! The monogram you have on your OOT bags is the one I have on our shotglasses! Your wedding is going to look so great. I cannot believe how many people are coming! Definitely the more, the merrier though. Lisa-- wish I could help you out-- I'm not having a shower, I'm not sure if it's because all of my friends live in different places or what. I'm not even going to worry. But I think if you want one you should definitely say something! I'm not sure to who-- but you're right, and this is the last time you'll get to have one. So it should be done Last-- tomorrow is my FIRST wedding dress shopping appointment!!! I have 2 dresses that I love very very much. So tomorrow I get to try the first. Wish me luck please!!
  12. Great idea lizzy, but we can consider this thread closed- my FABULOUS photographer has offered to do it!!! I am so happy---- the two things I wanted most--- handpainted maracas and EM!
  13. I wanted to get your opinion on something. I really want to order my maracas from Mischka. She is not in Playa, but in Vallarta maybe? Anyways, I also have Elizabeth Medina booked as my photog. Mischka said that the maracas could ship to the Mayan Riviera for about $60, and that to ship them to the US, it costs more than the maracas themselves, so no one ever wants to do that. I don't know the etiquette on something like this, but do you think that I could ask EM if I could have them shipped to her, and have her bring them to the wedding? I guess to me, it sounds like an easy solution, but it's also a lot to ask and impose. Thoughts?
  14. shellk I'll bet you just feel so relieved that she got back to you---but I would definitely be frustrated too!! Lisa- that is SO weird that you brought that up about the baskets--I was thinking the SAME exact thing last night! My assumption is that you would just have to bring your own, but I could be wrong. Just another detail that we'll have to figure out.
  15. Those are absolutely amazing!!! I would LOVE to receive one of those as a guest! They'll be a HIT!
  16. Gosh I love this forum SOOO much! Thank you ladies for all of your advice and wisdom! I have been working all day (probably making him crazy) I totally brought up all of these points...... and I think it worked Jersey Kitten- I brought up what you said, and told him that people would be photographing us all day- I don't think that had occurred to him Andi- told him that he could wear whatever he wanted (not happy about that, but happy to get him there and willing ) jkcz0702- told him that it would clean the dress (which I think he was semi happy about, but thought I was trying to pull the wool over his eyes! haha) Erin B- I think this was the last nail in the coffin-----when I mentioned doing it on my own, he was NOT having that. I think it really sealed in the fact that I wanted it more than life And Preciousmi811-- I just heart your attitude!! I would have totally resorted to bribery!!! SO in the end (after working really hard all day on a HUGE football Sunday) he told me to see if EM was available to do it the next day, and if not, to find someone else to do it!!!!!!! (he also said at the end that he knew I wasn't giving up Thank you SOOOOO Much for all of the great points. Every day, I am so appreciative of the info and advice I get from this forum----- can't wait to show my pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hooray for persistence, and/or bride craziness!!!
  17. Oooh excited to try this! I love when people recommend yoga---- it is hard to find someone you like on trial and error alone!
  18. Welcome! There is a FABULOUS thread here for us RPRM brides--- if you choose that resort, there is so much info on this thread. We always get so excited to have a new bride!
  19. I found this link of 'paint them yourself' maracas on here. They are 6" each, I think. Discount School Supply - Decorate Your Own Wooden Maracas - Set of 12 Hope this helps!
  20. I am down in Monterey, but work in Santa Cruz, so I'd love to go to a get together if there is one!
  21. I'm with you sister!! My fear is, I know the holidays will make the next few months fly-- but then I'm afraid that Jan-June is going to be torture! hehe
