  1. Your pics are gorgeous Lisa! I'm SO glad that you had a blast! My only question for now is-- how did the pre meeting with the wedding coordinator go? Did you have any decorations or favors that they gave out/set up for you? How did that work? Can't wait to see more pics!! Shellk- sounds like you are getting TON done! Can't wait to hear about the BD shoot and hopefully see a couple of them!
  2. Lisas back!!!! So glad to hear that you and your guests had an amazing time! Can't wait to read your review. I think I speak for all of us that it is such a relief every time we hear a bride say that the resort was great! I'm sure I'll have some questions--- I want to wait to see your review first!
  3. Oh my Raychel thank you SOOOO much for suggesting this!! My girls tend to make me look kind of sleazy (IMO) because they are just large and in charge! I was stressing over what to do, because strapless or cups just add extra , unecessary volume. TRYING THIS!!
  4. All the best Josie!! Have a fabulous time, and of course, we cannot wait to hear about it and see pics!!!
  5. Good job Finzup--- you knocked her a$$ into gear! Excuses, excuses....... I feel that she was intimidated by the possibility of the law comin a knockin. How frustrating though... makes me triple think about online ordering...
  6. Thanks for posting! It all looks fabulous--- can't wait to see it all come together in pics from the big day!!
  7. You were a gorgeous bride, and your wedding was amazing. My favorite shot was the black and white of you and your husband kissing in the street---precious! I am ecstatic that EM will be doing my wedding in July. Seeing all of her photos make me so so SO excited! CONGRATS!!
  8. I tried on the Maggie Sottero Reese, and I am usually a size 6. She put me in a size 10 and it was snug.... so I wouldn't get too disappointed. I was in total 'sticker shock' about the sizes of wedding dresses too! Isn't it funny-- even though it's just a number, it can still bother you!! And personally--- I would probably just drive the 5 hours to get an idea on fit, then order it from the shop near you-- just to be safe and lessen potential alterations. That's just me though- I had to drive 2 hours to purchase, fit, alter my dress! Bring a friend with you, make a mini road trip of it! Then you won't be so stressed w/ anticipation...
  9. That's what we're here for! Best place ever!
  10. Ok, this thread has helped me a lot, and I have my final (yeah right!!!) budget in place: Bride Attire + alterations: 2450 Jewelry: 150 Groom attire: 450 Wedding bands: 1500 Flight: 1000 Resort: 3500 Wedding Package: 1600 Flowers: 500 Mariachi: 560 Table decorations for dinner: 150 Favors: 600 Save the dates and luggage tags: 700 (yikes!) Hair/Nails: 150 2 photogs, Elizabeth Medina and Cecilia Dumas and TTD dress (wedding and TTD): 5850 Photog stay: 450 Website: 130 Bringing us to a grand total of 19,725. 12. Wow, it sounds like you have a really, strong and sound relationship. That is amazing, and I'm so glad that you have made it work. It takes an extremely strong and committed couple to make something like this turn into marriage, and I am so happy for you! Stay strong...it's only 6 more months. Probably a drop in the bucket comparted to what you have been through. And it's not even 6! You get to split it up. Jan-Wedding--2 months later to MARCH! AHR! 2 more months until May! It will all be here before you know it. Best of luck!!
  13. Vdaybride- No- mine is the Palmeras. Yours is gorgeous though too! A very similar feel to mine. I love them!
  14. This forum has been nothing but a great resource, support etc for me, I'm so sorry that you feel this way! I cannot speak for anyone else, but this is definitely my surrogate girlfriend as well. My best friends don't live anywhere near me, and my poor FI has heard probably more than he can sanely handle. Maybe you are posting in the wrong places? Have you tried to PM a mod? As the other BDWs posted, I would love to see your dress! We live for pics on here
  15. Something wrong with my internet, sorry for the double post!
  16. What a FABULOUS idea!!!! I'm sorry, I don't have ideas for outfits, but that definitely inspires me to ask my TTD photog to maybe do the same thing.... Does your FI have any clue? It would be hard for me to keep it away from him... but maybe I could manage something... My whole thing with not doing a BD shoot, is that I'm living in a city w/ none of my girlfriends. I would hate to do it alone... but if they were already in MX... Thanks so much for the idea!!
  17. My FI is wearing a fuschia tie too! He has one now that will kind of go, but I would like it to be a closer match to my shoes (I know, I'm nuts!) All of his fun ties were purchased from a small-now closed- boutique in Denver. I don't know where to turn now Sandra- we are color twins! Where did your FI end up getting his tie? We are still on the hunt...
  18. I got mine from Pronovias too--- see in my siggy pic, and also here is the train--- I love it!! Pics really don't do it justice!
  19. Oh Vikki I cannot even imagine how you are feeling right now. My grandfather and I are extremely close. If I were in this situation, it would not fly. Having his stuff there is going to make everything somber, as Michelle said. This is part of your wedding, and the two defnitely do not need to be mixed. I really hope you can talk to your Mom about this and have her see your side. Best of luck, keep us posted!
  20. Thanks! They were all FI's idea...I sent them in white cardboard boxes w/ mexico themed stickers on the outside to make them not look so plain. DIY stuff is a lot of work!!
  21. Those are cute Jennifer! I love the 'all you need is love' stamp-- Here are mine-- they are shot kits. Shot glasses from discountmugs.com and Monogram done by ayleebits.
  22. That is gorgeous! I'm a Pronovias bride too! Those dresses are just phenomenal--- it is stunning on you
  23. Update: I have just been informed that the new name for the desktop computer in the cave is named "Dragon". I love this hilarious man!
