  1. Totally agree with NaM--- you defnitely need to try them on. Then if you like them both, you're in a pickle! I loved both the Reese and my Pronovias, so that's why I'm doing the knockoff of the Reese. I couldn't decide!!
  2. Oh my goodness, that is horrible! My thoughts and prayers go out to Tiger, his family and friends.
  3. what a great idea!!!!!! I absolutely love all of it and have been looking for this timeline! I am emailing for the other stuff! OH- and I can't see the pics of the booklet- only the first one!
  4. My top two choices for this were Sascha Gluk and Cecilia Dumas. I ended up going with Cecilia- she is very nice and easy to work with! I can't wait!
  5. Have you tried preownedweddingdresses.com or wedding bee classifieds? I have seen the Reese on there. Also, not sure if you are interested- but I am having Reese made as a knock off for my TTD session. I will be paying 125 for it. Checkout the knockoff dresses thread on here to read about girls experiences! I'll post mine there after I order and receive my Reese. Good luck!
  6. for my resort, you can book your day over a year in advance, even before their rates are available. I'm pretty sure you have to wait until rates are out until you can book the actual stay, which is at about 10 mths to a year...
  7. IMHO you can start your planning whenever you feel like it! I got engaged in March 2008 but due to finances, could not have the wedding until July 2010. I am the most indescisive person in the world, so I didn't start planning until July 2009 to keep my sanity. The only thing I did beforehand was decide on a resort. There are so many options out there for details, just do whatever makes you happy. But remember- opinions change a lot in two years!
  8. Alright ladies- FI and I started this today. I have eaten a bowl of soup and it was pretty good. We added a little jalapeno and habanero pepper, w/ some fresh cilantro. Gave it a little kick! I can totally see how the soup gets tiring though. Thanks for all of the posts! Wish us luck! OH I do have one question-- how much soup do you usually consume for the 5-7 days? We bought enough to triple the recipe, but I was just wondering how much everyone eats. Thanks!
  9. Mrs March I love your dresses! I can't wait to see pics of yours with the new neckline and sash. Nicyx- The beach has been our dream too, and we are going with it! Our date is before yours, and I'll DEFINITELY be posting pics for everyone to see. Then you can decide! Dreaming of Sunshine- I agree with Shellk on this one- I think it's going to be hot no matter what time you do it. I decided on 5pm, because it may be a little cooler, and then be closer to dinner and stuff.
  10. Thanks Shellk! I missed you guys too- when I'm not on here, I feel like I haven't been talking to my friends! Sammysgirl- I ADORE your Moms dress! So perfect Can't wait to see the invites Paige! I think it's settled for the bachelorette party. Small one for BFF's in Denver, then for all of the girls in Mexico. Do you know what you're going to do for yours yet Katie? I wanted to do a nightclub night, but then realized that I'm not a nightclub girl! haha--- I think we're going to do a catamaran/snorkeling/beach party one. I'm running into the same thing Dana and Sammysgirl. I have a couple people that aren't staying in RPRM. So I just hope it doesn't become a trend because of the 80%... guess we'll see!
  11. Happy New Year Ladies!!! I have been totally MIA lately, so so busy! Part of me is happy about it so I'm not on the computer 24/7 obsessing about the wedding Welcome to all of the new ladies! I just read through everything, and I think eveyone has answered the questions I would have been able to. Shellk!! Your day is coming so soon! 40 days.... wow. I LOVE your BD teaser! it was gorgeous. You are too funny- I know your FI would never have second thoughts, but you are RIGHT, those pics would change his mind! Also, hope the car thing works out for you soon... and feel better! Yay Katie! BD shoot today! I won't even mention to post pics, because you know we are all obsessed Let us know how it goes! I think I'm going to do them for our anniversary or maybe valentines day the next year-- our budget is getting out of control! Love the new pic Sammysgirl! Also- has anyone, or is anyone planning to do their bachelorette party out there? My friends are all over the US, so it would make more sense than to have them travel again....
  12. I saw Precious this weekend, it was a fantastic movie. I cannot say that I walked out of there feeling uplifted like the Blindside may have given a feeling, but it was very well acted, and it made me appreciate my life so much. So many people out there are going through things like Precious did, and I am happy that they have finally made a movie shedding light on the horrible subject, to raise awareness. Be prepared to cry though- I couldn't stop through the whole movie! I also plan on seeing the Blindside this coming weekend!
  13. Great thread! RonNMel- my FI is the exact same way, and it is my favorite (of many favorites!) about him. He tells me out loud, via email, or via text several times a day how much he loves or appreciates me. He is always very appreciative of everything I do for him, no matter how small (warming up taco meat? haha) I could not live without this man. Even though life gets in the way, and time goes so quickly- I intend on showing him how much I love and appreciate him every day, just as he does for me!!
  14. Couldn't you incorporate black white, silver AND gold? you could also incorporate ivory in there, I think it would be a beautiful palate!
  15. If you'd like me to email you the templates, please PM me-- I am not getting updates regularly, and I have not been on here a lot lately due to a new puppy addition to the fam! Sammysgirl and Nbulldog I did see your requests though and they are sent
  16. YAY!! This was actually FI's project to put inside colored vases. When I sent him the link, his exact words were: Holy Crap! I just received and email from YOU from Instructables?? I never thought that day would come! (he is a big tech guy and loves electronics- I am *ahem* not handy like that!) Then he says-- That article is actually the one that gave me the idea... so funny My reply-- Haha!!!! Us BDW girls are ON IT! (as you can see, this is via email)
  17. HOLY MOLY, you're scaring me Bahiabride! Ok, here goes: Done: - Ordered my dress - Bought my ceremony shoes - Sent Invitations STD's/Invites (combined the two, they were a lot of work!) 30 or so RSVP's back saying their coming - Ceremony date and time all set and booked with WC - Working on Pre-departure Brochure and Meet the Guest Page - Have hot sauce favors, and fan favors - Made most luggage tags - Have maraca tags designed - Picked out Mugs - Booked 2 photogs (yay! My favorite part!) - Picked out centerpieces - Designed wedding website - Flights booked Still To Do: - Get Grooms outfit - Get paperwork legalized (3 months out) - Purchase our wedding bands - Find 4 " shoes for the beach - GRRRR -Purchase everything I've picked out! (maracas- 3 months out, centerpieces, mugs) - make maraca tags and finish luggage tags, make Pre-departure Brochure and Meet the Guest Page - Pick flowergirl/ring bearer outfits (it's up to my niece, we will buy in Denver in March when I go for bachelorette party!) - Work on my DIY rhinestone clothes project - Gather inspiration photos (hair, flowers) to take with me to resort - Get my jewelry for the big day - HIT THE GYM!!!! WOW- seems like I have a lot to do. But I've already done a lot too I suppose....
  18. Alright Ladies- I have had the precious angel for a week, and you all were right! I love love love having him, even though I have to watch him 24/7 (except when I'm at work, he has a play area) and I haven't been able to even think about TOUCHING the computer to stay up to date on my beloved forum! Best Christmas present EVER!!
  19. I LOVE this thread! FI has a little of many of these going on. The thing that bothers me most is this. He will have a gin and tonic w/ a lime in his office, and the glass will get hidden behind papers or something. I'll be cleaning days later, (I rarely go in there) and the lime will be in the glass rotting!! EWWWWW! I asked so many times for him not to do this, but the other day, I asked much more firmly. Things have been smooth so far...
  20. I have always lived by the mantra that beauty is pain. But in my older age, the voice has become less and less loud! This is a day you really want to enjoy-- the only thing you're going to remember about the shoes, is if your feet are killing you and you can't have fun!
  21. Thanks everyone! Southernsweetie- I got the scenes from another BDW'er. She already had them formatted to fit that size, so even though the scenes are from Jamaica and I'm getting married in Mexico, i just used hers! PM me with your email and I can forward them to you.
  22. nsimpson- his name is Crosby. That is the name that they gave him, but I thought it was very fitting tranceangel- awwwww, he can eat anything he wants but PLEASE stay away from the shoes!!!!
  23. Oh no! I just saw that you returned the shoes! I wanted to report that this month in Glamour, Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing them on the cover. I think her feet were bred for wearing super high heels though
  24. Thanks everyone! He is actually a papillon, but doesn't have the traditional markings around his eyes. Kind of does look like a Jack Russell though! His mom was 6-7 lbs, and his Dad 3-4 lbs, so he is going to be a small little guy.
  25. I am so excited!! I put a dog on hold that I will get after I travel home for the holidays! He is so precious. I am just so excited, I had to share!
