Well after reading this I got a BARGAIN! Originally my TA asked for $500 pp when I asked why it was so much she explained that to confirm the flight you have to do an instant purchase in our case the flight cost is $390. However, if my guests wanted to wait on the flight they could book the hotel now with $50/pp and make payments until it's paid off. Since our wedding isn't until May 1st a lot of our guests have opted for this option and wait till the beginning of the year to purchase their flights.

It seems that my future step daughter decided it was more important to be at the wedding than prom. It definitely makes things so much easier to deal with. FI and I decided that we will let her invite one of her friends and ask the friend to pay just for the airfare. Thanks everyone that was a great idea! So all worked out at the end. Yipeeeeee!!!!!!!

Thank you ladies all for the wonderful comments and suggestions. I'm waiting for FI to come home so we can discuss further and I can get feedback on what she wants to do. I think it is up to her to make her own decision on where she would rather be that day. I will keep you all posted.

My FI just called me to let me know that his daughter's senior prom will be the same day as our wedding!!! We asked her back in June to find out when her prom would be and she told us it would be the second weekend in May which was our original wedding date. We then went ahead and changed our date and confirmed the resort and booked our flights. ARGHHHHH!!!!!!! apparently she just assumed and did not check with anyone. Now, I'm upset because I don't want her to always remember our wedding as the day she missed her prom. But FI already said we are not changing our date again, we've sent the STD's and already ordered our invites... I'm feeling very guilty.

Callie: I can tell you that when I was trying to decide (also based on pricing) I found that Jamaica and DR were the least expensive. I finally chose Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana as they offered a free wedding ceremony if you booked 5 rooms or more and is a fairly new resort. The pricing was very affordable for such a beautiful well known resort. Happy planning.
