This is the best resource for us DW brides!!
  2. I am thinking my white 'bride' tank and black capri lulu lemons with white puma runners and a light jacket or hoodie.
  3. I don't want to cause any drama here as well, but I purchased the starfish toggle bracelets for sale in a previous thread (http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...e-locks-55205/) and I think brides should know that these are not sterling silver as stated and although they are stamped 925. I am fine with the fact that they are knock offs, I think we all know that for this price, of course they are... but when you see them in person, they do not look or feel like sterling silver. They are super cute and I'm going to wear mine to test out whether or not it will tarnish before potentially giving them to my BMs. I did PM Cancunbride to clarify this and she mentioned that her MOH has been wearing hers for a year and it hasn't tarnished yet, so hopefully it's not an issue. I just think everyone should be fully aware of what they're purchasing here, as I was pretty disappointed when I saw them in person after the thread stated they were real silver.

  5. I'm going through a similar thing... but with just under 2 months to go, everyone is finally coming around (although we had a solid 26 booked last summer) and now I've already ordered all of my mugs and such and some people just want receive one! The price went down a little bit one week and I bunch of people booked, but now it's back up to what we paid, so no big variations in price.
  6. Oh my... huge dilemma.. I'm trying to think what I would do. Sometimes I can be super stubborn and I tend to cut people out of my life who I feel do me wrong. (I'm trying to work on this, lol) Sometimes with in-laws, you just have to suck it up and try to get through it.. (I've learned this since planning our wedding with my in-laws) There is a lot of compromise that comes with a marriage. And it sounds like your FI's brother will be upset if she doesn't participate in the wedding events. I guess I'd say suck it up and try to be the better woman, keep your distance from her and try not to let her get to you. If she pisses you off at the shower, then cut her off before the wedding and say good riddance to the b*tch! LOL
  7. Looks great!! Any products in particular she mentioned for a DW, ie - foundation/powder?
  8. Hi ladies! Just wanted to share, since we're keeping it quiet from our friends that we went to city hall this morning and got legally married! My 97 yr old grandfather and my best friend were our witnesses. Now just 2 more months until the 'real' big day!!
  9. I went through the exact same thing too! We ended up putting up an evite, getting people who were ready to commit their deposit and even though Sunwing wanted the full payment within 2 months, my TA was able to negotiate out a payment plan. We ended up paying 3 deposits of $150 and then the full amount is due next week, which is 60 days before departure. However, they gave us some leeway on the payments because they switched the flights around on us and this was their attempt to keep us from cancelling. The price of our trip went up a bit and then down a few weeks ago and now back up again, so it's hard to say when to book, but in reality, because it's your wedding, you can't really gamble and watch the prices too much. I looked at that resort as well, and that sounds like a pretty good price to me... although, my pricing was for April and Oct/Nov tends to be cheaper.
  10. Mine is coming up soon as well! I have NO clue what to wear... it's still cold here! We're getting legally married tomorrow and I'm wearing a rose coloured blouse and winter white slacks, so maybe something like that... although a dress would be cute too.
  11. Hi ladies! Just wanted to give an update/vent about DiscountMugs. I received my order and had to pay $56Cdn duties on a $210 purchase. I had originally ordered 37 mugs, which I thought would be plenty. But all of a sudden a bunch of guests booked their trips, so I called back and increased the order to 41, which they said would be FINE since the artwork was just confirmed and they hadn't started the order. Well... when I received the shipment, the boxes were slightly open (I'm assuming customs took a peek in) and there were 2 mugs missing. On top of that, we're now at 39 people booked (more last minuters) and I know a few more will book closer to the date, so I'm going to be short! (That is frustrating in itself, but a whole other story!) So I contacted DiscountMugs and they said that the request for additional pieces (41) was not properly placed (even though they charged my credit card) and that I must've received 2 extra pieces from the original order of 37. The minimum order they can do is 12 pieces so the only option they offered me was a refund on the 2 missing mugs. I will feel really terrible if some guests don't have the same mugs (but isn't that there fault for booking late?) and DiscountMugs is quoting me $95.18 + duties for minimum re-order of 12 mugs. So that will be about $9-10 per mug!! Not very cost effective. My only other solution is to buy some little stainless travel mugs at the dollar store and try to add our monogram via sticker or something... is that cheesy? Should I suck it up and order the 12 new mugs?
  12. I used to not be a big breakfast eater, but if you don't eat something when you wake up, you body will start eating your muscles. I used to just have a protein shake in the mornings, but I was getting really hungry/tired by the end of my workout, so now I have whole grain toast w/ p.butter and a bit of low cal berry jam and then have my shake right after the gym.
  13. I struggled with trip pricing the most during our initial planning. I had thought $1200 max, but I quickly found out that wasn't doable (I can only speak on Cdn prices during April) for the locations we were looking for and quality of hotel. We settled on $1360 for a beautiful 5 star resort in La Romana, Dominican. I think that's a great deal. Guests are used to paying last minute prices, so it might come as a shocker to them, but it's your wedding and you can't book last min.
  14. It's definitely cheaper to find a Cdn seller, but shipping and duties shouldn't be too bad if you: 1. Use PayPal - easily converts the price for you. 2. Have the seller indicate the item is a 'gift' on the customs form.
  15. Here are the rest of the hair images - Sorry, I was having BDW issues earlier!! Part 2

I also have very similar questions and did not get a chance to go through all the posts. Amy, I read on one post that you are planning to have orange color theme. That was exactly what I was planning to do and I am looking into buying my own decorations (simple ones so I can transport them). I contacted Tiara about Dreams Ultimate package decorations but did not get a response. Sorry if this was discussed, but do they have anything orange/fuschia? Thanks everyone for all the great posts! And very nice meeting all of you! Dasha Dasha - YAY!!! You're only TWO days before me! Our group is going on a Seavis excursion that day, but I will try to sneak a peak of your fabulous wedding when we return! There are a few of us splitting fuchsia/orange decorations (my theme is turning out a little more fuchsia I think). I don't remember if Tiara said they had orange or fuchsia chair ties, but I remember that she didn't have one of my colours, so I'm just doing fuchsia ones and bringing them myself. Jenne- Thanks for posting that, very helpful! Ok, the hair pics are coming up next!!

I'm such a dork that way, but when my friend threw a baby shower for another friend, there were no games and I was bummed. I told my BMs to do really simple ones though, no toilet paper gowns!

  20. Glad to hear your review of HDC! I'm so happy we booked them!!! Congratulations
