I hadn't budgeted on the extra bar fees :/
  2. Oh Lizzy, that's so awful!!! I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you are still able to have a fabulous time with the loved ones that are coming!!! xoxo

  4. Woohoo! Someone just pointed out to me that my ticker is now down to DAYS rather than months! WOW All my guests are getting so excited... every day a new person texts or emails the countdown... LOL Liane - I got FI a watch - he picked it out last month in Cali and I have hidden it away since we got back (I think he forgot about it already!) I have no idea what to ask/suggest him to get me... maybe a necklace if I decide to wear one. I got my BMs super deluxe OOT bags and gave them to them at the shower (so they wouldn't purchase any of the items I put in there) they were a huge hit!!! We're thinking of buying the attire for the GMs and I got them passport holders... that was left up to FI and he is so busy with work he hasn't even decided if he wants to give anything else!! :/ There's a pretty long thread about this somewhere too with lots of good ideas...
  5. I agree. We got our 1st gift yesterday too and it was from my Grandfather, so I called him first so say thank you and then going to cash it this week. Then will follow up with a formal thank you letter after the wedding.
  6. You're lucky! I was sent a few LESS than what I ordered (from Discountmugs.com) and now am short And they wouldn't send me the amount I was short by, only a partial refund. The cost they quoted me to re-order for the few missing was ridiculous and just wasn't worth it. I had a terrible experience with them, but I'm glad to hear that maybe they've smartened up and now over send rather than under. Sorry for the rant, they're SUPER cute!!
  7. omg those are adorable and look just like my wedding shoes (mine are fuchsia though). Good luck selling them!
  8. How am I supposed to get any work done now, I keep looking at those amazing pictures! hehehehe
  9. OMG, Bridget, absolutely stunning!!! Teary eyed and goosebumpy after watching the video. I'm saving your pics to make sure the lanterns go up the same way! Really can't wait for your review - need to know what to make sure Tiara does/doesn't do!! LOL Congrats again!!! xo
  10. Welcome to the group, Petals & AllieCat! Happy to welcome other new DLR brides!!
  11. LOVE the last one! I actually saw a store named the Sugar Shack nearby recently - but far, far away from you!
  12. Hi, and welcome! I will also be having my bachelorette party the 2nd night we get down there (Apr 24th) so I can't give you any advice just yet, but I'm pretty sure there is not going to be anywhere to go off the resort... just plan for some fun games and stuff around the resort and then head to the disco!
  13. I bought the bandeau style with the removable straps so that if I'm walking around the girls are supported, but easily removed when I'm tanning... my younger sister/MOH on the other hand doesn't seem to care about this issue even though I have gently reminded her that she's wearing a strapless dress - and I know she'll get burnt in the 5 days before the wedding... (ughhh, thanks for ruining my wedding pics LOL)
  14. Are any of you girls on fb? I am usually on there more often and find it easier to post pics and such.. if you like, please add me! (Amy Walter)
  15. OMG, he's the cutest thing ever! Every once in a while (like every 3-6months) my dog will have an 'accident' (poop) on the stairs (always on the stairs, don't know why). I've noticed it happens if we miss a day walking him (usually due to illness or bad weather) - it's like he's saying 'screw you guys!' LOL Little bugger... No idea if that relates in any way, but it just reminded me of what my dog would probably do if he were feeling off schedule.
  16. Yep, keeping your muscles fueled throughout the day is key... I'm trying to follow the Eat Clean diet, but I think I'm just eating too much of the right foods :/ I work out every morning but I think I'm going to start upping the cardio in the evenings as well...
  17. I'm in the exact same situation and dates! I have been working out like mad and I know there are some pretty awesome muscles under there, just have to uncover them!!
  18. I would say the jewelry box as well. I personally would not use those wine glasses very much.. except for maybe a few times at the cottage and I usually prefer plastic there. Just IMHO!
  19. Oh good! I'm so glad they could go to good use! Great to meet you as well!
  20. I'm doing this too! I printed some postcards from VistaPrint... I didn't exactly leave room for the stamp and address though... boo. Front: Back: But yes, I'll need to announce that they must put them in one central spot when completed, or perhaps have one of the BMs go around and collect them.
  21. Thanks to LadyTrunck who turned me onto these gorgeous shoes! I had another pair originally picked out, but they were not able to dye them the fuchsia that I wanted, so I ended up selling them and purchasing these! *they're from Zappos (Martinez Vallero, 'Corrine')
  22. Wooohoo! I had my 2nd fitting this week and I've fallen back in love with my dress! The sales woman ordered a size I knew would be too big, but she said it was better to be safe than sorry... so when I went for the 1st fitting, the seamstress knew she had her work cut out for her and was nervous! But her motto of 'tight and sexy' worked - the seams still need to be finalized and the bottom hemmed. This is with the bustle up. (Now to find a magical pair of spanx!)
  23. Hmmm... ya, if I had lost my father to lung cancer I don't think I would be ok with giving cigars.... is your FI stuck on that idea? I know cigars aren't an every day thing, but they are still very harmful and I personally wouldn't really want them at my wedding. It may seem very conflicting to your guests to see cigars and a donation to the cancer society side by side... That's just my 2 cents. (Sorry, I am the WORST ex-smoker you'll ever meet)
  24. Wedges will surely help with the sand, that's what a friend of mine wore and you couldn't even see them. But please, provide us picture wh*res with visual stimulation!!!
