  1. Thanks for this post - I've been looking to build a wedding website and it's been hard to sort through all of the options. Your opinions have been very helpful!
  2. I agree with what everyone is saying. I wouldn't pay for their guest passes nor their guests. The couple they are staying with are their guests and they should be paying for that couple.
  3. I was thinking about the pros and cons of both locations as well. The one thing I was wondering about the pool was dancing. I saw the set up for dancing on the terrace at the steakhouse, but how would it work by the pool? The beach is also another option I'm considering.
  4. Thanks Jerome for this - I have a much clearer idea of what each site looks like now and the different set ups.
  5. I am LOVING this thread - thanks for all of the posts!
  6. This thread is super helpful. Thanks for all the posts!
  7. I cannot believe how rude and unprofessional that response was. How appalling! I'm glad that there's a forum like this to warn others about travels agents like Elite.
  8. Thanks for the link - that is such a GREAT idea! I love the personalized touch of it.
  9. I don't think it's bad not to have OOT bags at all and I dont think anyone would expect them either. I've been to two destination weddings, neither of them had it and I didn't take away from the experience at all. We were all just so happy we could be there for them. OOT bags are a very nice gesture, but I don't think it's necessary.
  10. Love that the bags are waterproof! Great colours too. I'm new to this so I didn't even consider eBay as a resource. Thanks for the tip!
  11. All inclusives are a great way to save money because, like everyone has mentioned, the food and drinks are included. This is also stress free for your guests who don't have to worry about spending more money when they get there. The only issue I've had at all-inclusives is the complicated process of getting reservations at a la carte restaurants. Particularly if you're with a larger group.
  12. I would like to know this as well. Though I recall reading a post on this forum about it being illegal to have a bonfire on the beach.
  13. I think the only way I would attend a wedding that was on the same day as my own wedding would be if it were someone close to me. Otherwise, I wouldn't attend. However, I don't think anyone close to me would even think to have their wedding within a week of mine, let alone the same day. If you are faced with that dilemma, my advice would be to not attend.

    Hi Everyone :)

Welcome! You're such a nice friend I've heard good things about both of those resorts.
  17. Welcome to the forum! I'm getting married in 2010 and it might seem far away, but I'm sure it'll be here in no time. Besides, that means more time to plan!

    Cruise Wedding

Hi Gizmo, welcome to the forum! I'm new to the site as well and this has quickly become such a valuable resource. I know you'll find all the information you need right here. A cruise wedding sounds fantastic - I'm actually attending one this December on Celebrity Cruise Lines.
  19. Thanks so much for all of the posts! I am looking for a restaurant to hold the rehearsal dinner and there are so many great reviews!
  20. Can you clarify when the high season and low season begins and ends? I'm a little unsure of this. Thanks!
  21. Sandra, are you staying at Casa Dorada or are you just having your wedding there? Though my guests wouldn't be staying here, I am interested in this location for my wedding.
  22. I'm looking to get married in July 2010 at the Riu Palace in Cabo and didn't even consider the timing of flights. I was looking at my Sunquest travel brochure and for winter 2009 direct flights coming out of Toronto were on Mondays and Thursdays. I'm not sure if they have the info for 2010 flights yet.
  23. Where are you planning on having your wedding? My guests will be staying at the Riu Palace and I'm considering going off-site for the wedding. I've budgeted around $12,000 for an off-site wedding, but I'm wondering what your cost includes.
  24. Elainak, can i ask how many people attended your wedding? I am considering getting married at the Riu Palace and i love the idea of having the dinner and dancing on the beach. Did you request to have one long table or is that the set up for weddings on the beach? Also, how big was your dancefloor? I'm curious about your set up.
  25. I'm a cabo bride a be - June/July 2010. We are looking at either Riu Santa Fe or Riu Palace as a resort. We are also considering having the ceremony/reception off-site.
