  1. We bought bottles of rum and rum cream for our welcome bags. We got them at Blue Diamond, just outside of the MBJ airport.
  2. Kris - We rented beach beds and had Tai do custom cushions, some draping and the lanterns.... looking for a picture....
  3. Has anyone done this? Any results? Is it enough of a work out? Our wedding has come and gone, but I am trying to keep up my good habits with some fresh motivation!
  4. We had a fire dancer at our welcome dinner. The dj that was running our ipod used our ipod for the music. He was definitely a hit. We just got our proofs and the pix are amazing.
  5. See if the hotel will credit the cost of their photographer to your overall bill. We used an outside photographer and were able to negotiate a credit for not using the photog included in our package.
  6. We gave ours a necklace from Tiffany when we first arrived (to keep her motivated ;-) and then a cash tip with a thank you note the day that we departed.
  7. If your heart is set on heels, talk to your WC about putting a wood plank under your runner... You can then wear heels and not sink into the sand.
  8. Hi there. You should be all set. Call your town clerk to confirm. Jamaican marriages are fully recognized in the US, but some clerks want you to file the document with them as well so that it is recorded here too. Congrats!

  10. That is crazy. We got married on June 28 and have had our certificate for a few weeks now.
  11. Hi. I did not get married at the ROR, but we used Tai Flora and had lanterns. They did a great job. Payment was coordinated throught out WC, we had no problems.
  12. I am having a steel pan trio (not at ROR). They are playing Can't help falling in love for my bridal party processional and one love for our recessional.
  13. I actually called Air Jamaica with this same question today. They were very nice and told me that depending on what type of plane it was, they will accomodate it as best they can.
  14. You don't hear planes at the Ritz Carlton. In addition to site fees which they will work with you on, they do charge set up fees as well. The fees are not insubstantial. We were pretty surprised at how much on top of the food, tax and gratuity, showed up in our estimate.
  15. We have aqua dresses and the guys are wearing tan suits with aqua pocket squares. Goes nicely with our "sea and sand" blue and gold theme.
  16. Armani's new lasting silk UV foundation. It is super-light you won't feel like you have a mask on. It has light-reflecting particles and will not settle into fine lines like the MAC stuff and also contains sunscreen. Downside is that it is not cheap at $68.
  17. I did sixty days of this last year before I moved. My upper body, especially my back was definitely toned. I just started adding these work outs back in as my 2nd of the day. I love Tony's goofiness. Makes the work out go faster than having someone annoying (JILLIAN MICHAELS!) up there... lol.
  18. We are getting married there this coming June 28th. (AAHHH!!) We have been the resort several times. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
  19. We booked Paula and Damian as well. Our wedding is June 28, 2009. I met with them in February for a pre-planning visit and they were absolutely wonderful.
  20. It could be enough, you just need to make sure you order enough of the passed hors d'oeuvres.
  21. Think about who you absolutely want at your wedding. If any of those people have young children, they may not be able to travel to a destination wedding without them. That being said... We invited people with their children. We have our responses back now and here is where we are: Some guests are bringing their children to the wedding. One guest is bringing her nanny along on the trip, so the child will be on the trip, but not at the wedding. Two other guests have told me they plan on hiring one of the resort's nannies to stay with the children in their guest room during the wedding.
  22. Getting married in Jamaica, June 28th. We have almost everything done! Invites out, most responses are back. Just had my first gown fitting. Band booked, photog booked, menu selected, cake selected, favors purchased, OOT bag done! getting super excited!!!
  23. Second wedding or not, you are still the bride! You should wear whatever you want to wear.
  24. We are having a fire dancer at our welcome dinner. Our wedding coordinator took care of the booking, as the resort has various entertainers on contract.
  25. I met with a rep from Tai Flora last month during a pre-planning visit. Prior to the visit she emailed lots of pictures to me and was very responsive. So far, they have been very easy to work with and very helpful.
