  1. We just returned from RIU MOntego Bay / RIU Negril last SAturday. Here is my review! WE got married at RIU MOntego Bay. Everything was great and I would definitely recommend this resort for your wedding. We used the beach gazebo and reception was held in the steakhouse. The only thing I disliked was the fact that the steakhouse only had beer and wine to drink during dinner and dancing as there was no cocktail bar nearby. Other than that the day was absolutely perfect and exceeded all expectations. The head photographer MIchael is superb as we have some fantastic shots. After one day in a standard oceanview room we were upgraded to a phenomenol suite right above the gazebo where we were married. For our second week we decided to switch things up and go to Riu Negril for the honeymoon.....big mistake. This resort is not a 5 star and did not compare to MOntego Bay at all. The drinks, atmoshere, rooms etc....were all disappointments. After 2 nights there we left and went back to MOntego Bay and all was well again. They even gave us our suite back!!!! IN Negril they wouldn't even give us an oceanview and the room that we had was falling apart and smelled of sewage. I don't want to discourage anyone who is getting married there but after coming from MOntego Bay we were truely dissatisfied and had to leave.
  2. Getting married at RMB Oct 22...leaving 17th. Just over 3 weeks to go. Not much left to do except alterations on my dress and a few small gifts. We're getting really excited now.
  3. Thanks for all of your comments. I think a cash tip might work best since the luggage restrictions are so strict and we are staying for 2 weeks.
  4. Is it common to give a gift or pay the "free" wedding co-ordinator?
  5. Can someone give me the low down on reception music? If we bring an IPOD complete with playlist to RIU Montego Bay do they provide a docking station and sound system? Is the music loud enough to dance to and enjoy? Are there options of where you can set everything up? Any info much appreciated.
  6. HI Shelby, I'm getting married oct 22 at RIU Montego Bay and then to Negril for honeymoon. The countdown is on and time is flying by. We have just under 50 people coming down but I'm really not stressed. We're keeping things as simple as possible and just going with the flow. Let me know how things go!
  7. I recently used the Crest white trays and liked them much better than the strips. About $30 CAD for a 7 day treatment. I noticed visual results after 3 days.
  8. I began running on a treadmill and then decided to train for a half marathon this September. Running outside is much harder. I began with only 2.5 KMs straight and built myself up a little further each time. I went to the running room store and got fitted for a pair of good running shoes because my toes were bleeding and blisters were difficult to deal with. I got some advise there as they said they train people by running 10mins and speed-walking for 1 minute. It seems to be working. I'm now up to 15KMs but still more training required to reach my goal and run the 1/2 marathon comfortably. I try to do 1 - 2 long runs 10 to 15KMs per week and a shorter 5-6KM run every day that I can fit it in. Hopefully I will increase the distance soon as September 27th is just around the corner. Good Luck!
  9. I just started the Isagenix 30 day program (I'm on day 4). I am a healthy eater and pretty fit to begin with (5'2" and 124lbs) as I run long distances and play many sports as well as train in a gym. I just couldn't lose that extra 5 lbs around my thighs for the beach! I too was skeptical of the program and thought it would only work for people who didn't eat properly anyway but thought I'd give it a try (along with my finace). I must say after only 3 days I have lost 4lbs and I feel fantastic. I have a tonne of energy too! My fiance and I are both seeing results already. He is down almost 10lbs...It is unbelievable.
  10. My fiance bought a white linen suit and will be wearing an orange shirt underneath the jacket. The groomsmen are wearing the same white pants and shirt but W/O the jacket. I didn't think it was a good idea initially but my boy (s) look outstanding as they all can pull it off.
  11. Colleen & Gordon Oct 22 2009 RIU Montego Bay Jamaica!
