  2. i'm having a wedding at the chapel gazebo, but all of my pictures are from the Miami WC. who are you working with? the reception i believe is $400 per 1 table (10 persons). i hope that doesnt change!
  3. #1 all the way!!! both are nice, but the first one just takes it up a notch! you could go grand or simple with the #1 dress because of the details on your dress. love it! =)
  4. i'll wear my wedding dress at the disco depending on how i feel after the reception. i'm bringing mutiple white dresses to Cancun so i could look bridal all week =) We're planning on doing the snorkeling tour to Isla Mujeres as part of our group tour. the uncles and aunts will be off to Chichen Itza while the cousins and younger crowd are also doing the zip line and atv. fun! thank goodness excursions are included! hooray for Moon Palace!
  5. welcome and happy planning!
  6. go to Macy's or Nordstrom's and look for Caparros or Nina. They have evening wear shoes that come in white and/or ivory all year round. good luck.
  7. i just checked the Cellars 360 site and couldnt see the Victoria Bitter.
  8. Our turn! My FI is a manager at a huge telecommunications company. I'm a Policy Analyst for an elected official/politician (City Council member). i deal with politics, media, policies, controversies, citizen complaints, long boring meetings all day. i occassionally enjoy fun events representing the councilman and speaking in public.
  9. yes, we was really nice. super laid back with such a relaxed and natural feel during the photography session. did you work with him before? hey, you're from sausalito. we're not very far from you (we're in the east bay). =) there's a great boudoir photographer in your city...Lone Moch.. have u heard of her? i was just there a couple weeks ago for our initial meeting. Sausalito is GORGEOUS!!! breathtaking view in your downtown =)
  10. hi ladies! Maribel, my WC in Cancun, has been very helpful in sending and answering my questions. I am very concerned of how the Catholic Ceremony will be and she sent me a copy of what a ceremony there would be like. It's a trypical Catholic Ceremony as you would have here. I just want to share it for those wondering what a traditional wedding would be like. I asked the priest from Moon Palace who will be preciding our wedding, Father Pierre Gourard, if we could include some traditions from our culture and he said yes. We met with our local priest who will be helping us customize our ceremony with readings and psalms. Maribel said once we finalize the ceremony program, we send a copy to her and the priest so they could arrange and practice the sequence of the program. That's how they'll know what to do on the day of the wedding. Hope this helps some of you who are choosing the Catholic Ceremony route. The document is below and available for you to view/download. 11. it varies... i bought my TTD dress from David's Bridal off the rack discontinued for $625 from $1100..so about 50% i went to a bridal salon that sold ONLY designer dresses and saw $4,000 Ulla Majia-Anna Maier gowns for $500. I also saw some Vera Wang for $1999 from $6,000. but there were old, tried on so many times, and often times Ivory instead of white. most are also discontinued. the same store is having a $499, $999, $1499 special---meaning ALL gowns are priced with one of the three. FANTASTIC prices for gowns originally $5,000 and more!!! i was offered a Monique Lhuillier gown that was discontinued from a previous season for 50% off---brand new and excellent condition. rule of thumb for samples--- no less that 50% off the regular price and highest (i've seen) is 85% off. this was the trend when i looked at dresses. the selection i've looked at were designer gowns like Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Rivini, Melissa Sweet, Reem Acra, etc. i'm not sure if the same percentages apply to non-designer gowns. hope this helps!
  12. that price is amazing! do it all the way! TTD sessions are so special and unique! we're doing one too with Del Sol and we're paying like 4x the quote you got. u dont want regrets later on! maybe your TTD shoot could be a wedding present from family
  13. wear whatever dress you love! i'm a pink girl too so i'm wearing a pink veil for the reception =)
  14. i considered them when i was looking for photographers. they were really nice and had an awesome package deal. bumping this message so hopefully you will get a response! =)
  15. American Airlines had awesome deals for us too...rountrip SFO to Cancun for only $360 per person. what a deal!
  16. adorable! i'm getting a pink one for my niece who will be 2 months old the day of our wedding! thanks!!!
  17. Thank you for this thread and everyone that replied! I found our photographer for our engagement photos here... COOPER CARRAS! he is amazing! at first we thought he just does destination weddings but he does engagemnt sessions as well. we had our shoot yesterday in Napa Valley. He was so fun to hang out with and he made us feel comfortable. we were so nervous at first because it was our first time, but Cooper was so nice and patient. He suggested a couple locations and we just had a blast. we are so excited to see our pics so i could post them here. Thanks for the word of mouth! =)
  18. Sarah is amazing! We got our monograms this week and we love all of them!!! I've already chosen 1 for my wedding planning binder. Everyone I showed them too likes them. yay! =) THANK YOU!!!
  19. Hi SunnyBride! We're planning on staying there for 4 hours only. If more people go (like 100) then I will pay for 1 hour extra. Dinner and dancing is good for 4 hours i think...especially since we won't have a big group. We want to do a group activity the next day so i dont want people too tired. if we decide to go to teh disco then disco it is in the wee hours! =)
  20. why dont u wear 2 dresses? 1 for the reception and other for the ceremony? i LOVE dress #2!
  21. hi! we're having a ceremony at 2pm and this is how our day looks so far: 2pm - 3pm Catholic Ceremony (full mass for an hour) 3pm - 4pm Pictures formal and candid at Chapel Gazebo and wedding party 4pm - 5pm Photo session with newlywed bride and groom (this may overlap with the previous photo sessions 5pm - 6pm Cocktail Hour at Chapel Garden or Terrace 6:30 Full Reception and party at Ballroom (we're giving people 30 minutes to change for teh reception and/or walk to ballroom. we were going back and forth debating whether to have teh ceremony at 2pm or 3pm, but decided with 2 pm so our day is not so packed together just in case we need more time for pictures. most of the receptions ive been to have an average of 2 hours between ceremony and reception. this is also the max # of hours guests should wait for teh reception, per Brides Magazine. hope this helps!
  22. i'm wearing a completely different dress and style for my TTD. I wanted a different look cause I love experimenting with the various bridal styles. I bought a cheap dress at David's Briday for TTD so i won't get paranoid whatever happens to the dress.
  23. we signed a book group rate directly with an All Inclusive resort to give people the flexibility to NOT pay until a few weeks before the wedding. the flights were separate because not everyone is staying for full 7 nights. some people also couldnt pay the full amount up front, so booking separate allows people to pay for flight first (since the price fluctuates) and the hotel at a later time. wedding is in April 2009.
