  1. Well.. So far, my dress is a shimmery white color called frost; my bm dresses are a shimmery copper color called Hazelnut. And I think that I am going to try to incorporate icy blue and gold accents. I will probably try to somehow arrange all colors in my bouquet; mostly the icy blue and white for the flowers with a copper ribbon (I think) and in my hair flower. We will maybe put all colors in our labels, etc... The wedding will be right around sunset; so we are trying to encompass the colors of the sunset, the beach and the ocean.
  2. I know that you are not alone on having a non-white wedding gown. I am not sure where the threads are; but you can do a search. There are at least a few brides on here who are doing colored wedding dresses that are just stunning!!! Do you have a pic of your dress? I would love to see it!!!
  3. Here are my bm dresses; they will be in Hazelnut which is a shimmery copper color (the dress to the right):
  4. I can FINALLY post on here... Yeah!! Here is the thread where I originally posted my dress last night: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t34094 Here is my dress: Here is me in my dress (as I said before, bad hair and facial expressions, extra pounds and all):
  5. I am planning on ordering mine off Etsy ... I would rather get a fake flower so there is not chance of it wilting, etc and then I am assured that I will like it. Real flowers are gorgeous but unpredictable IMHO.

Glad to hear that the alterations people are good there; I was a bit nervous about that! And.. Thank you everyone! I am super excited that I finally found "the one"!
  7. Very Pretty.. cant wait to see it when they have it perfectly fit to you! =) Great choice!
  8. Oh.. I am so sorry that this is stressing you out; the last thing we brides need is something else to worry about! I agree with everyone else though... first of all, USPS tracking numbers (in my experience) don't show up in a timely manner. Second, Paypal has good fraud protection; if you don't receive it by the end of the week and don't hear back from the seller with a good explanation then report it and you should be able to get your $$ back. Hang in there and let us know how it goes!
  9. Wow! That dress is incredible on you... I personally, wouldn't change a thing! I don't find it to be plain at all; your curves make it very sexy and beautiful!
  10. Hi Everyone, Well, after a lot of searching (see all threads below) and then a lot of waiting due to my recent illness; I finally got back out there and found my dress; I ordered it today!! Yippy!! Thank you to everyone for all of your support. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29883 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t31381 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t32458 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t31787 Ok, so here are the pics on the model (these are the only ones I could find online that would xfer to photobucket): And, here are pics of me in the dress... (pls disregard the strange facial expression, bad hair, binder clip they used to hold the too big dress on me and additional 15 pounds of body fat that I still have left to lose!) And all of my bm's shockingly found their own bm dresses while I was getting measured... It's a Mori Lee and they are doing it in Hazelnut (which actually looks in person like a very saturated coppery color). Here is their dress; the color that we are doing is the one to the right. What do you all think?
  11. Thanks everyone!! Please don't worry BajaBride, I didn't take any offense to what you said.. I appreciate yours and everyone else's input so far. It's just helpful to hear of others experiences and have support!!
  12. Oh Amanda!!! Those are great.. love the plethora of penis's! You looked like you had such a great time. =)
  13. Hi Ladies, I am also considering doing the BL5 on here... It seems like great motivation and accountability! We all have 8 months to lose the pounds; so this will be great to get us on track early. How is everyone's planning going? Any updates? I am hopefully (fingers crossed) going to buy my dress next week and decide on the BM dresses and colors. I have ordered a bunch of sample invitations; I am just waiting to get them. Honestly, I haven't done much else as I was really sick in the hospital 2 weeks ago and I'm still recovering. Great timing huh? Happy Holidays to Everyone!
  14. Wow.. those are so cute!!! I am going to have to check out a local store after Christmas; hopefully they will still have them at your fab price! Thanks for sharing!
  15. We are still trying to decide.. I don't want to be a big crying mess though... We were thinking of Brad Paisley's Waitin' on a Woman... YouTube - Brad Paisley - Waitin On A Woman [with Lyrics] What do you all think?
  16. Hi All, I haven't really been on in a while. I was admitted to the hospital a few weeks ago for what we thought was an ovarian cyst (which I get regularly)... but ended up being Diverticulitis. Evidently, this is something that people get when they are much, much older. Does anyone have this or know anyone that does? It requires a super-strict diet now (which I guess is great to lose weight); but I am constantly still tired and honestly, hate eating now. It's very frustrating, because I never have eaten that badly or ever been overweight by medical standards (which are pre-cursors when this happens in younger people). Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this. I have been doing tons of research on the internet. Thanks in advance!
  17. I used Save the Date Magnets and Photo Magnets For All Occasions and they were great to work with. The magnets came out amazing and we have received so many compliments on them!
  18. This is such a wonderful contest and perfect theme… I am going to take this from a more personal perspective and write this like I am trying to put into words to my amazing Fh how I feel about him. **The words I love you could never adequately describe how I feel about you. Our love is like the ocean, a constant that is always there. It is a beautifully changing adventure that is filled with new discoveries when I wake up eagerly every morning to dive in. Starting our lives together on the beach, paying tribute to the waves … there is no better place to celebrate our commitment. When I am with you and look into your deep, warm eyes; I feel like I am home. When we met, I couldn’t even fathom what home felt like anymore; you saved me from the darkest place I have ever known and bestowed to me your amazing light. You know the worse things about me and that’s okay; because I know the worse things about you … and that’s okay too. We laugh together harder than anyone I have ever laughed with; and that makes the times we cry even more poignant. You challenge me more than anyone I have ever met and I know I challenge you too… and to steal one of your favorite quotes you always say to me from The Notebook “Well that's what we do, we fight... You tell me when I am being an arrogant son of a bitch and I tell you when you are a pain in the ass. Which you are, 99% of the time. I'm not afraid `to hurt your feelings. You have like a 2 second rebound rate, then you're back doing the next pain-in-the-ass thing. So it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, for ever, you and me, every day.†I have never known peace like I do with you; never known passion could be so exhilarating; never known the excitement I feel when I make you smile, the sadness I feel when you frown; the contentment of having a true partner to live with, but not live for; and the camaraderie of having a true best friend, someone who is in every way my equal and other half. ** We are getting married at sunset on the glowing beaches of Dreams Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on August 5, 2009. Good luck to everyone!!!! Hmm.. now that I have written this - it may work for my vows. LOL! =)
  19. Those are incredible!!! She did an amazing job.. you look hot!

  21. I am a fragrance evaluator; I creatively project manage cologne/perfume development for a fragrance house in NYC which involves LOTS of smelling fragrances all day long. =)
  22. I agree with CanadianBride.. It completely depends upon what you want to do. If you want to have a more elaborate ceremony with personalized music, readings, wording, programs, favors, extra decor etc.. then contact your WC to coordinate it. If not, then if it were me (I am a control freak) - I would contact my WC anyway to ask what their standard ceremony entails. OOT Bags are a nice touch.. but I can't imagine a guest expecting to get one. So, if you don't want to or don't have the time or the money; then it's not a necessity. Cake Toppers? Once again.. you don't have to have one. It's completely up to you. There is a theme in my response, do whatever works for you! There is no set standard. Just check to make sure your WC has the basics covered.
  23. The dress is amazing!! I love the back.. if you love it and it feels good; then get it!! Cant wait to see pics of you in it!
  24. Wow!!! Those are amazing.. I love your color choices and you look stunning! Congrats!
