  1. I know, can you believe it?! We are so going to be ready for a sunny Mexican vacation come October. Here in Boston, we've had nothing but rain all month!
  2. I think it's pretty normal to second guess your dress for awhile. I only went to one bridal shop, tried on about 10 dresses, and ended up buying my dress. I love my dress, everyone else I show loves my dress, but for a long time I still couldn't help second guessing myself and thinking maybe there's a dress out there that would be even more perfect (especially after seeing all the dresses on this forum!). My dress is at my parents house and I drive there (over an hour away) every few weeks to try on just to reassure myself that I really do love it. It's so hard because there are SOOO many gorgeous dresses out there, but you only get to pick one to wear on the biggest day of your life. Of course if you keep looking you will find tons of dresses that would look great on you, but the one you have now looks amazing and when your wedding day comes, you KNOW you are going to be a beautiful bride.

  4. Another blind faith bride here! I have been to the Riviera Maya multiple times, but never this resort or Puerto Morelos itself. My fiance and his family have never been to Mexico at all. We based our choice of resorts off of many great reviews on BDW and tripadvisor. We also saw people's slideshows online of their weddings at the resort.
  5. Congrats cowman! Love the pics! Hope you are enjoying the rest of your trip! endless love, do you mean getting to the resort from the airport? transfers were included in my vacation package to and from the airport. i've been to a few other resorts in mexico in the past and there was a shuttle bus that took us to the resort from the airport. it had travelers going to different resorts and made stops at different resorts to drop everyone off.
  6. Lisa, The dress looks awesome! I do agree with you though that the empire waist needs to come in a little for a more fitted look. Once the corset back is finished, do you think that will help bring the waist in and maybe give your chest more support so you can go strapless? I know you don't want to offend your aunt, but I don't see how she would be offended if you nicely offered your input to her. She's putting in all this effort... she wants you to love your dress!

I think you are talking about a different kind of registering. We are talking about a gift registry at a specific store. You go to the store and pick out things you want or need for your home to make it easier for your guests to choose a gift for you. It's very common to do this, at least in the U.S., and most guests appreciate it because they don't have to spend time wondering what to get you. Some of us are wondering if we should do a registry since our guests are already spending so much money just to get to the wedding. We don't want them to think we expect a gift from them, too.
  8. Jessica, Did Norma come to your hotel room to do your make-up or did you go to her? Did she send you any sample pics before hand?
  9. Here are my shoes but mine are in ivory, not gold. My dress is ivory lace with beading and they match perfectly! The heel is just the right height for the dress, too.
  10. Four months to go! Time is starting to go by so fast. Still on the list of things to do: rings dress alterations ties and footwear for the guys working on OOT bags/ favors find someone to do hair/makeup music centerpiece/ dinner decorations Other than that, I think most things are set! I was feeling really overwhelmed with things to do until I just made that list. How is everyone else doing? We have 18 people who RSVP'd yes so far, so 20 of us total as of now.

  12. Wow, sounds like a great find! Congrats on getting your dress!
  13. For the beach ceremony, is the aisle a hard surface? Or is it regular soft sand? I'm hoping I can wear my heels for the ceremony and not have to buy platform flip flops.
  14. Congrats and have a great time! You know we will be waiting anxiously for your review when you get back
  15. I got mine at Michael's too. It was the small corner punch and worked great.
  16. As so many others have said, I think the ring is gorgeous, unique, AND it's a Simon G! BUT, if you have any doubt in your mind, do you know the store's return/exchange policy just in case?
  17. Wedding photos are VERY important to us. I would not have chosen a resort that did not allow us to use an outside photographer. A major deciding factor on choosing the Excellence Riviera Cancun was because they allow outside vendors. You just have to pay the $70 day pass for each one, as you would for any non-guest of the resort, which we felt was reasonable... especially compared to other resorts' policies.
  18. The $5 and $10 charge doesn't surprise me, but personally I would rethink it just because of the WC's attitude. That's not someone I want to be dealing with while planning such an important day.
  19. You're responsible for your own music at the dinner reception. We hired a DJ from outside of ERC. ERC has there own DJ you can book. They also have speakers you can rent if you want to bring your own ipod and dock but we aren't going that route so maybe someone else can add more details.

  21. Katusha25, I'm soooo glad you had a great experience! I had been wondering when you were going to get back here and let us all know how it went! Can't wait to see some pics! I've been a little hung up and what menu option to pick. What did you choose for your wedding dinner and what kind of cake did you get?
  22. For those of you who live near a Papersource, they have pocketfolds. I think they were $10-$11 for a package of 10. They have a website, too.
