The $150 day pass is what ERC typically charges for outside guests to be at ERC for the day. The $70 day pass is for the day of the wedding only for wedding guests staying at a different resort. For example, your guests staying at a different resort pay $70 to be at ERC for the day of the wedding, but if they want to spend the day with guests at ERC the next day, they'd have to pay $150. That's how I understood it at least.

I've been getting stressed out in general because lately I've had to remind Veronica of things the told me back in September. We have 7 months left until our wedding so I'm crossing my fingers that there are no major bumps or "policy changes".
  3. We are getting married at the end of October in the Riviera Maya. I was a little concerned at first, but we went to Playa a few years ago in February and it was cold and rainy the whole week. You just can't predict the weather so we are keeping a positive attitude! No point in stressing over it. There could be terrible weather if you had your wedding at home, too.
  4. I've already booked my trip, as have a few of our guests, so I can't back out of the Excellence now, but all the conflicting info and "new policies" are stressing me out. It's disappointing. I have all the emails saved so I can only hope that she honors what she told us from the beginning. ( I'd still like the know their rationale for having couples pay the resort photographer MORE money for NOT using them. They are already getting paid through the wedding package and don't have to provide any services!

Khrystal Davis But did you also have to pay $150 to the resort photographer in addition to the $70 day pass for using an outside photographer? That's apparently what Veronica is telling brides lately.
  6. That just makes no sense. The resort photographer is included in our package that we are already paying for. Why is she now telling people they have to pay them MORE money to use someone else's services? I would email back and ask her if their policy has changed. Previous ERC brides did not have this situation. I haven't gotten married there yet but I do have the email asking her to clarify that all we have to pay is the $70 day fee to use an outside photographer so I will fight it if/when we get told differently.
  7. Thanks so much for the pictures, Jaime! I'm so excited to go in October for our wedding!
  8. You're kind of on your own for the welcome dinner. I was told that the only restaurant at the resort that would take reservations in advance for a party of our size was Agave. It's closed on Fridays though.
  9. We weren't able to do a site visit beforehand, but in the pictures of the pier it looks like guests would have to sit single file on each side of the aisle. Might be hard for everyone to see and hear, especially with the sound of the ocean? We are having ours on the beach, but definitely want pictures on the pier! Do you have any pics from your trip of the resort that you might be willing to share with us?
  10. I was never told anything about that. When I was booking my photographer back in September, I had Veronica confirm that all we had to pay was the $70 day pass. The in-house photographer is included in the Gold Package anyway, we are just choosing not to utilize them. Why would we have to pay the in house photographer? I don't understand that part?
  11. This goes for all resorts, not just the Excellence, but save all your email conversations with the wedding coordinator. I have a separate folder in my email account where I've kept every single one. It has already come in handy at times when I've been told one thing, and then later down the line told something different. It's especially good to have in case the resort changes WCs, which has happened once already since I started my wedding planning at the Excellence.
  12. Are you talking about the daypass? I was told it's $70. It's for anyone at the wedding who is not a guest at the resort though, not just vendors.

  14. Is there a different Staples store you could possibly try? I made my STDs with Keynote on my Mac, saved it to a PDF, emailed the file to a Staples print and copy store and they came out fine. Just a thought. I'm sorry this is happening to you
  15. I'm changing mine. I have to admit though that the closer the day comes, the more sad I get about not having the same name as my family. My fiance really wants me to change my name and it is a heck of a lot easier to pronounce!
  16. The ring is beautiful! It's beautiful on it's own though and if you don't want to wear a band, don't! You'll know you're married! I personally think a matching pave wedding band would compliment it very nicely and add more bling If a wedding band doesn't sit flush, you could probably have one made to fit the e-ring.
  17. endlesslove, have you heard anything about using the resort photographer for the welcome dinner yet? we booked an outside photographer for the wedding also but might as well use the photographer included in the package if we can since we are already paying for it. also, has anyone heard anything about meal options? we were told by veronica back in sept that we could pick two options for our guests, but then she told me a few weeks ago that we had to pick one option for everyone. she didn't write back when i asked her about the conflicting info.
  18. Some resorts might advertise their wedding package for 20 people, but can accommodate more for an extra charge. For example at the Excellence, 20 people are included in the wedding package price but you can have more than that for an extra cost per head. They have an open foyer area (inside but but no windows) that can accommodate up to 80 people. Have you tried asking places with terraces that you are interested in how large of a wedding they can handle?
  19. I was told that they do provide ceremony music but we can bring our own CD if we want.
  20. I'm getting married at Excellence Riviera Cancun in October! It's in Puerto Morelos, but there is also Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun.
