  1. Did you have to pay for the chairs when using the free package?
  2. Great view, i am debating on ROR vd negril
  3. Do you have the prices for the photographers, i know they change, but i wanted to know what i should budget for if i used them
  4. I do not think you actually need to identify where and when you were married. Once you have identified it as a wedding reception then the guest will already know you would have been married prior to the date I am sure that most guest will have already been made aware that you are having in intimate destination wedding ceremony. You are invited to the wedding reception of X&X , on XX date......
  5. How much did you wind up spending at the rockhouse hotel for wedding/reception . There is not much on their website regarding wedding packages
  6. I have been looking into the RUI as well and based on their pictures it seems that having a beach side wedding(which is what i am looking for) is directly in the middle of where people are lounging and swimming. Even though the beach is public it does not seem to have any way of roping off the area to keep the noise/people from disturbing the wedding. On trip advisors it said that one bride was heckled while walking down the aisle.
  7. How long did you guest stay and did you feel there were enough activities for them to enjoy?
  8. this was a great article. i really do not want to overplan, but i also want to make sure i see me guest so I am thinking about having a cocktail welcome reception and maybe dinner for the parents
  9. I am really on the fence about that. I am thinking about doing special posed pictures prior to the wedding. i,e Mom and me,
  10. Thanks for the update, pictures are very important to me and since it seems that they are not allowing local outside photgographers this is a concern.

Everyone showed up, I passed out their oot bags & then after dinner some of us hung out together & watched the nightly entertainment, while the rest of the guests went & did their own thing. There are lots of options that won't have you imposing on your guests time. You don't necessarily have to have a welcome dinner. You can have a welcome breakfast, lunch, or you can have welcome drinks/cocktail hour at one of the bars. I never thought of having a wedding breakfast that is a great idea. So the WC can reserve that for a group prior to the wedding or would we have to wait in line with the rest of the resort?

I think Ocho Rios has more party type stuff to do and Negril is more relaxed. but again i havent been there myself. I am inviting about 30 people my female guest are couples, his male guest are mainly single.there will be one 12 yr old child. I want more of a relaxing setting, but i do not want them to be bored as well.
  13. I like the idea of them both walking you down the aisle and 2 father dances
  14. i think that you have to decide what is most important to you . If your immediately family is most important then talk to them about the packages and see how they feel. If you are having an AHR then those who are unable to attend the wedding can be apart of it then. You can show the wedding ceremony their as well. I plan to change locations for my honeymoon, but will make sure that the resort i choose will have the options that are most important to me.
  15. I am glad to see a review on negril and i am looking to book their
  16. That is a great idea to travel back to the resort in the normal transportation, did Lee travel identify how long the ride was from OChos rios to negril?
  17. does anyone know if it is true that the rui negril is much smaller than ROR and the dinner and wedding options are limited?
  18. That may be an interesting option, having a lunch then a more traditional formal dinner
  19. so do they server the non-alcoholic drinks to you ? are there options are just one variety that is given to all guest.
  20. I think that there probablyu is a difference from the free packages vs royal. I recieved information from Rnegril and there royal packages has quite a few nice options.
