  1. We had our Welcome Drinks party at Melia Cabo Real. It was definitely not old and boring. Some of our guests stayed there, and there were a ton of activities, a different theme party every night, and lots of energy. They have a really nice lounge in the lobby, that had a DJ spinning techno music. The grounds are really nice too. I worked with Cecilia for my Welcome Drinks party and she was great! They brought out lounge furniture and lighting to the beach for us. And had a DJ set up techno/lounge music. The bartenders working our party were so much fun too....they were walking around with shots and literally pouring them into guests mouths.

    Hi!

Hi, I am also getting married at Zoetry Casa del Mar next month. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about planning or vendors.
  3. I actually asked my mom and FMIL to stay in the same color family as my wedding colors. Since they will be in a lot of pictures, this way they won't clash with the wedding (and everyone will know who the important people are). In my experience, a lot of brides do that. Your FMIL probably thought that's what she was supposed to do, and picked that dress color to make you happy. Please don't stress yourself out about it....your wedding will be beautiful and all eyes will be on you anyway!!!!!!
  4. I am still interested. Could you please pm me any info that you may have about this shoot. Thanks!

  6. Yes, the color is accurate. These are natural/beige color canvas totes.
  7. Hi Girls, I have 17 OOT bags for sale from Bath and Body Works. 20" H x 20" W These are great quality, spacious, and have two snap closures on top. We ended up going with a different OOT Bag b/c we didn’t have enough stuff to fill these bags. These bags were originally $20 each, but I ended up getting them on sale at the end of last summer for $5.50 each. The bags are brand new and the price tags are still attached. Will sell all 17 for $100 (shipping included). PM me if you would like to buy these or have any other questions about the bags.
  8. My dress is champagne as well. I am using champagne, brown and gold accents for my wedding colors.
  9. I got the Keratin treatment done last week, and washed my hair twice since then. The results are amazing! I no longer have to flat iron my hair (which I used to do almost every day), and it looks shinier and healthier than ever! It takes me 5 minutes to style it now, as opposed to the at least an hour before. So far I am super happy with the results and would highly recommend this to anyone who also has uncontrollable frizz.
  10. Wow, this is amazing! I was thinking about you when the Swine Flu news broke out, but didn’t want to bother you. I really admire you for having such great attitude about this whole Swine Flu fiasco. Your swine-themed wedding was supper cute! I know it's not how you envisioned things to happen, but you had such a unique wedding and now you have a story that you will be telling people for years! Plus, you still have another great reception to look forward to in Mexico! What could be better?! P.S. You were a gorgeous bride!!!! Congratulations to both of you!

I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful! Casa del Mar is a very beautiful and intimate property. It took us over nine months to find a perfect location, and when we walked into Casa del Mar we both new this was the right place for us. It has a rustic yet modern and elegant vibe to it. The best part about it is that the beach restaurant is isolated from the rest of the resort, so you really do get an intimate and private reception, which is a rare find for most resorts. I am not sure which wedding packages you're referring to, I didn't think they had any. Could you post the link for where you found packages? Thanks!
  12. Hi Girls, I am also a November 2009 Bride. We are getting married on Nov 14 at Casa del Mar in Cabo. I don't have nearly as much done as the rest of you. So far we put a deposit down on our resort, booked a dj and a photog. That's it! From reading all your posts I seriously need to catch up. Jess, I ordered a sample scarf from the site you posted above, and I can confirm that the quality is good :-)
  13. Hello, I am a Cabo bride as well. We are getting married at Casa del Mar on November 14, 2009.
  14. It's finally official, we are getting married at Casa del Mar in Cabo this November! We fell in love with the property when we were in Cabo on a site visit in January. Originally we thought this property was out of our budget, but after some going back and forth we were able to settle on pricing that we are comfortable with. Is anyone else getting married there or thinking about it? Would love to share ideas!

  16. Thank you girls for sharing your Casa del Mar experiences with me. My biggest concern is the fact that it has to be a certain number of rooms on specific nights, at a specific price. I noticed that prices on Travelocity seem to be lower, but they won't count those bookings as part of the room block requirement. This just doesn't sound ethical to us, since we would still be bringing them business no matter how our guests book. They are just trying to force our guests to pay a higher price. We are getting ready to give up on this resort :-(. It's a shame that they do this to brides, since the property is really beautiful!
  17. Thank you both for your input! I visited Casa del Mar recently and really fell in love with the property. But as Natasha pointed out in her review, it doesn't seem as though they negotiate in good faith. I am starting to get really frustrated, and was wondering if there is any other bride on here that has dealt with them or is also dealing with them right now.
  18. Hi Girls, I am considering getting married at Casa Del Mar and wondering if anyone else is considering this resort? I haven't been able to find much information about it on here...so any insight would be helpful.
  19. We stayed at the ME for 6 nights a few weeks ago. The hotel is beautiful, modern, and a lot of fun. However, I would NOT recommend it for a wedding. Maybe for a crazy after-party at Passion Club after the reception. Nikki Beach area by the pool is amazing, there is a DJ there and go go dancers. Definitely a fun place to come with your friends during the day. The hotel has a very "Miami" vibe to it, but probably would not be enjoyable for anyone past their 30s. And I have to agree, definitely not the place for Grandma. The beach is pretty crowded with lots of beach vendors, of which most are drug dealers as we accidently found out once we started talking to them. Probably not the best place for your ceremony.
  20. This is how I see it....the people on Trip Advisor are posting negative reviews because they did not get the vacation they expected for whatever reason. Pay attention to their complaints and see if the issues they are complaining about would bother you or not. Everyone has different standards and expectations. I read TA a lot before chosing a resort, and have in the past chosen resorts that had bad ratings, since the issues that some of the negative posters experienced would not have bothered me as much. For example, a recent resort that FI and I stayed at had a lot of negative reviews on TA due to loud techno music being played by the pool....this didn't bother us one bit and we really enjoyed our stay. If my grandparents were staying there, they would have hated it and given the resort a negative review....know what I mean?
  21. Hehe...glad I found this tread, going to Cabo Wed morning and was also concerned about this
  22. We normally give $250 or $300 as a couple. I also always thought that you had to at least cover your plate. And with most weddings once you include the bar, it's usually over $100 per person.
