  1. Yes, we did. We didn't "and Guest" the single co-worker, but he's not dating anyone, and was coming with other co-workers, so it wasn't an issue.
  2. In my geographic region it's the norm to have an open bar - I've actually never been to a cash bar. Your situation is unique, in that you are paying for the 4 drinks - so it's not strictly a cash bar. I think that providing 4 drinks is a nice compromise for your guests.

We also got our stamps from Zazzle.com so that the stamps reflected the wedding stationary. Photoshop is amazing! Thanks Jacilynda - The height of the floral centerpieces was one of the first things that attracted me to the wedding package we purchased! I love this color combination! So bright and punchy! Thanks, Chantelle - I loved them as well. And they really went so well with the invitations. And I can't claim that the Thank You photo was my original idea, but I love how they came out! Yes, fuschia and orange is the perfect tropical combination.
  4. I would probably say something to her about the situation, and then let it go. Since it's taken this long, I doubt that she's ever going to refund the money, but if you say something it gives her one last chance to do the right thing. Nonetheless, I'd be prepared to lose the money, and let it go. And never give her one red cent again.
  5. According to all of the judge shows I watch (I know, pathetic...) the ring was given as a gift so she gets to keep it. Although, the judge usually tries to shame the woman into giving it back - I'd imagine it never works.

Our invitations: Chantelle - those are the invites that we had and everyone LOVED them. Many folks mentioned how nice it was to see color in an invitation when they're usually so stark white or ivory. We also used these for our STD's: They both worked really well together with both the fuschia/orange and floral theme. We used Wedding Paper Divas.
  7. I wore flats by French Sole: They felt like slippers they were so comfortable - and who can resist more diamonds?!

  9. I like both of them, but the 2nd one blows me away! I love the buttons down the back - so sexy!
  10. We only invited one current co-worker who I knew before I started this position, and a bunch of past co-workers to the AHR. Only immediate family were invited to the wedding.
  11. Here is a badly shot photo of my ring and on my finger - please disregard the hairy knuckles - the macro setting really does show everything, doesn't it?
  12. So glad you guys like them too! BlakleyBridetobe - I didn't create it, so I unfortunately don't have a template to post. Prettyhazardous - I ordered them through the company Mo Hotta Mo Betta out of Savannah, GA. On their website you can click on create a custom hot sauce, and then you can send them a picture to put on the label. The turnaround time was really quick.
  13. Ours went from 6:30-11. We had a cocktail hour from 6:30-8, then moved to the dinner/dancing room, where we did our introductions, had dinner, ate our cupcakes, and had a great time!
  14. We had cupcakes. Our colors were fuschia and orange. Here is the inspiration: And here is an aerial view of our cupcake tree (I've just received a few teaser shots from the AHR): Can't wait to get the full-on shot to really show our tree. It came out so well!
  15. I also posted in the Registry thread, but I wanted to follow up. Here is a picture of our hot sauce favor label I was so psyched when we got them - and there were only 3 left over at the end of the night!
  16. So I had mentioned in an AHR thread that I couldn't figure out what to include on our hot sauce favors. I finally figured out the wording and got them in time for our AHR. They were a hit! Thanks for everyone's advice on tackling what to include in terms of wedding vs. AHR dates. I had our ceremony photographer take a photo with my camera on the wedding day, so we would have the photo for our favors.
  17. The only shower I had was a surprise at work. We did register because people were asking and we had an AHR. This is my second marriage, and we already lived together -I would have felt really gift grabby if we had a shower.
  18. Nothing wrong with having the jr. bridesmaid. I have definitely seen jr. bm and no flower girl before (including in my first wedding!). I think it's better to have who you want in the wedding and not ask someone to be in the wedding just to have even numbers. No one's going to notice!
  19. So sad that it took her parents to shame her into returning the money - but glad that you got it back. With relatives like these...
  20. How awful! Although I must admit, aside from not packing my dress in my checked luggage, I also wouldn't have given up my seat on an overbooked flight, knowing that my dress was in my luggage! It's enough of a gamble giving up your seat when you just have you regular stuff in your luggage. I wonder what they will do to compensate?
  21. Sounds like he wants to turn it into a pseudo-Spring Break by inviting friends along. Can't they go on vacation together some other time when it's not your wedding? If it were me, I would tell them sorry but they're not invited.
  22. How bizarre! I don't understand what the hell she was charging you guys for - her time? She's a nutjob.
