  1. Not a problem - glad I could help! I've had many a fun night there - lol! Let me know if you have any other Savannah questions.
  2. We didn't have engagement photos taken, but our ceremony photographer is Yun Gen Yang Yun Gen Yang photography . Our reception photographer is Arek Kadzielewski lovemorephoto.com . We have 2 photographers because we're having a private ceremony in April, going on our honeymoon, and then having our reception when we return.
  3. Carlito's has good food and fun atmosphere, and it's downtown. 119 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Savannah, GA 31401 (912) 232-2525
  4. You might also be able to get the Convention and Visitor's Bureau to send packets to your out of town guests. For my first wedding, I gave a list to the Savannah Convention and Visitor's Bureau, and they send a packet to each out of towner - they loved them! And they were free for me, so even better!
  5. Uggh, what a pain. Just have to extend a strong recommendation for weddingpaper divas. Their customer service is amazing. The font on my invitations was really small. I think that their default size is 9. I called them to complain (nicely of course!) and they reprinted them 2 sizes larger at no extra cost (and no shipping cost). This is the invitation that we got Floral Flurry Signature White Wedding Invitations in orange. This is the STD Branch of Flowers Signature White Save the Date Cards I ordered both my STD and invites through them - and I'm looking at ordering my TY notes as well. And they send a lot of coupons through email.

As for the shower vs wedding thing, traditionally the bridesmaids/mothers invite you to the shower and the bride/groom invite you the wedding. Those who invited you to the shower might not have realized that you weren't invited to the wedding, which is unfortunate, but not an intended slight from the bride and groom. I think I'm confused -- the bridesmaids/mothers do host the shower, but I thought that the shower list comes from the bride anyway, so wouldn't she forward just a list of women who were on the invitation guest list?
  7. For my first wedding, I sent a thank you note to everyone who signed the guest book and/or gave a present. For those who "just" attended, I sent a thank you note for their presence, for those who gave a gift as well, I added mention of the gift. I had an unexpected result - some people thought that it was a gift-grab - or reminder that they hadn't given a gift. I have no idea how they thought that, but I will not be doing the same thing this time! No thank you notes to people who just attended and did not give a gift. It really hurt my feelings that some people thought that I was angling for a gift when all I was doing was thanking them for attending.
  8. What a sweet way to remember your husband's grandfather. And your pics are great (gorgeous cake btw).
  9. Heck yeah I'm wearing it again! We're having a small family civil ceremony (about 11 ppl), so barely anyone will see us on our wedding day. People want to see you in your wedding dress - even if it's not the actual wedding day. And furthermore, you'll be all tan from your DW!
  10. We're having a civil ceremony in Central Park in April, going to DR for our honeymoon, and then havng an ANR Memorial Day weekend at a restaurant/lounge. We're be wearing our wedding gear again - so psyched that we get to wear it twice!
  11. Don't cry - this is salvageable! Call around to find a professional printer who can print them for you. Explain that you have the paper and that you have created the job already. You should be able to find someone - most designers use MAC's anyway. Good luck!
  12. Here is a link to my shoes http://www.endless.com/dp/B0012EPR06...SIN=B0012EPR06 . They're by the company French Sole. They're really blinged out, but will barely show under my dress. I can't do heels, so flats it is!

  14. Oh, and duh, I forgot to congratulate you on your loss! Congrats!
  15. I love WW! I've been doing it since the end of June, and so far I've lost 37.7 lbs. I love that you can really eat ANYTHING - you just have to be accountable. A funny aside. One of my past leaders comes to my Sat. morning meeting. I mentioned something about getting married in April, and she said that she had no idea that I was getting married. I told her that in the WW context, my journey does not end on April 24. I will be losing beyond that date - that just happens to be the date that I'm getting married.
  16. I also purchased my dress from David's about a month ago. Went to my first fitting, and she'll have to take in a lot. I think I was in between sizes, and we just ended up ordering up. My alteration are $250 for the hem, bustle, and taking it in on the sides. I need to post an updated pic - I've lost almost 40 lbs since my profile pic!
  17. Hi Sarah: Just wanted to make sure that you received my questionnaire for my invitations that I sent back to you last week. Thanks!
  18. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this thread!!! My mother has been horrible about this DW. I got into it with her on the phone yesterday when I was at work. She says that since this is my 2nd wedding (and people had to travel to GA for my 1st) that its an imposition to ask people to travel for my 2nd. Hogwash. First of all, we are having an AHR as well for people who for whatever reason can't make it. How muvh easier can we make it for people to attend either the DW or AHR?!?! It's driving me crazy, but I'm really trying not to let it get me down. On a brighter note, I created our wedding website last night and today - and it looks great!
  19. Yes, we're inviting all guests to both events. I think we'll write "Dates" since it's 2 different dates. Thanks for your responses - appreciate it.
  20. We are obviously having a destination wedding, but we're also having an AHR. I want to include both on the STD. Should it read "Save the Date" or "Save the Dates" since it's 2 different dates? What did those of you who had events on different days do?
  21. Thanks for the lead, Dana. I've sent him an email.
