Our daughter was an oops! that I could not imagine not having. She came during my last year of nursing school, so that made things difficult, but we made it work. We planned our son, and actually started trying when we went to Cuba for some friends wedding, as they were going to start trying then too. One shot at it and 9 months later we had our little boy! The friends that got married have just finally got pregnant and are due in Jan. If things don't work right away, don't stress about it too much (I know, easier said than done!), but not only is there a 12 hr window for the egg to get fertalized, it has to attach to the uterus and implant through the uterine wall. This is all a very difficult process, so even though it may only take once, it may take several more times. As for those of you that are worried about being a parent, things just happen naturally you will do fine. Spending time with other peoples kids is not the same as having your own either. Whether you start TTC before the wedding, right after the wedding or you wait awhile, make sure it is when you and FI/DH are ready and don't let anyone push you to do it. Children are a huge responsibility and a lifelong commitment, so you have to do it when you are ready.

CELLULITE...anyone actually been able to get rid of it?
EricaG replied to EDYTA's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
To get rid of cellulite, you need to combine a good diet, strength training exercises, and deep massage. Unfortunately the creams don't work, it is the massaging the creams in that helps. The healthy diet decreases the fat that can build up in and turn into cellulite. The strength training can target those areas affected by cellulite and turn it from fat to muscle. Deep massage works to break up the cellulite, since all it is is gobs of fat that attach to the underlayers of the skin. Creams are not able to break the fat up, or dissolve it, it is the motion of rubbing the creams in is what helps to break up the fat. -
I hear you on that. Besides the dresses coming in and some of the OOT bag stuff coming in, I haven't done anything. We have to go find some new material for the BM dresses too, since the colour on my dress is more turquoise than teal, so that is actually one more thing to add to my list again. Oh well. I have 10 days off (so far!!) after tonight, so maybe I can get back into the swing of things too!

For both dresses it came to just under $300, so if they weren't want we were wanting, it wasn't that big of a deal. Mom decided it was worth the taking the chance, and I am glad we did. I promise I will get them in the morning (Tues). By the time that I got ready for work and dropped the kids off, I didn't have time to stop at my Mom's. If no one is home when I go over there, I will at least take pics of the dresses on the hangers. If someone is there, I will put the dress on and get pics done! I already have my camera ready to go!!!!!

My Aunt went to the hospital last night.....
EricaG replied to jajajaja's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
I hope that the neurologist will be able to give your aunt some answers finally. With the meds, depending on what they are, they could be calming her yet giving her side effects that are throwing her off. Sometimes meds have to be alered a few times before finding the right ones and the right doses for each person. Considering they haven't figured out what is actually going on yet, it will be difficult to sor the meds out appropriately. -
We are just waiting on land to be transferred over from FI family and we will build out in the country then. I can't wait. And FI wonders why I always keep the door locked!

Photographers- what do you look for in a camera?
EricaG replied to rodent's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
This is great. I would like to get a new camera and want to get a great one that will take great photos. I love taking pics, and now that I have my kids, I would really like to be able to kick up the quality of the pics I take of them. Any info from the pros would be great. -
Some friends of our friends got married at the Palladium Vallarta a few years ago. Everyone that went had a good time and the pics looked nice. I can see if I can get some more info on the wedding stuff though. I must say that as far as the Palladium resorts, our family loves them. I have been to the one in Punta Cana, and will be getting married there in Nov. I have several family members that have been to the Palladium in RM as well, some more than once and we have nothing bad to say. I will see if I can get a hold of our friends that went there.

That is really too bad when people have to ast like that. I hope that everything works out for you. Has your daughter said anything to him?

That is a good point about the breastfeeding actually. I breastfeed both my kids, but not for very long. It was a fight to get my daughter to breastfeed which decreased my milk product to nothing by 6 weeks in. My son was an awesome breastfeeder, but since I had him 3 weeks early and I didn't go into labour with him, my milk supply was not great and he was essentially starving, so that only lasted 4 weeks! There are many reasons that people can't breastfeed that don't relate to surgery, but that can also be a side effect from the surgery that you have to think about too.

Whenever I look at my ticker I am amazed at how little time we actually have left. Of course I am the last day of the month, so I will be the last one from this thread to have my big day. With that said, I see everyone elses tickers here and know that mine is right behind!!!!

On Thursday evening I was at work when my Mom and sis showed up with my wedding dress and my daughter's flower girl dress. We decided to order them from ebay and take a chance. After all, if we weren't satisfied, we could order the real deal from around here, and just use the knock off for TTD. Anyway, they looked awesome!!!!!!!! They only took 2 weeks to get here after ordering them. Since I was at work and there were some patients that were in the ER, I couldn't run off and try it on....but I wanted too! Since I had to work until 11:30pm, I was hoping to try it on on Fri before heading to the city, but when I stopped there, no one was home so I could get it done up. Therefore there was no point even trying it on. Also, FI and the kids were outside in the van waiting for me, so I didn't want to take to long. I got back from the city earlier today (Sun) and went straight to my Mom's before going home. I HAD to try it on. My Mom was in the shower, but as soon as she was out, I got changed. It fits great, although I need to lose a few more lbs so that you can't see all my 'extra skin' lol around the middle quite so well. Mom said she will probably order me a body shaper thingy and that should help! Anyways, I love it. It isn't as heavy as the Alfred Angelo dress, but I think that will help keep me cooler on our wedding day! There isn't all the beading that the AA one has either, but we are going to add our own beads on since we have time, although I still like without the beads too! All in all, both the dresses fit us great and look beautiful, although the colour was off from what we wanted. We picked the colour swatch that looks like a teal green and the colour of the dress is turquoise. I am fine with it though, as that was the initial colour that I had wanted before going teal. (Pics will be coming, as I didn't have my camera with me earlier) Another package arrived on Thursday as well. All the stuff that we ordered from OTC. That only took about a week and a half to get here! I was amazed. Once we get an OOT bag together, I will take pics and post them. I work the next couple days, so I will do it as soon as I can this week!!

You can never tell what is going to happen no matter where you live, so it is best to play it safe. I live in a small rural community that is safe for the most part, but I always lock the doors. There have been times that I haven't had the door locked and someone has just walked into our place thinking it is someone elses. As soon as they realize they are in the wrong place, they have left...so far! On Fri FI had the kids out in the van and I was just grabbing a few more things before heading to the city for the weekend, when a guy came and knocked on the door that was slightly ajar and then walked in. I came around the corner and he asked if so-and-so was here. I said he had the wrong place and he left apologizing. There have also been a couple times that there have been drunks that stumble into our apt complex and get mixed up about who lives where and come knocking on our door. 7-11 is right behind our complex, and it is a popular stop after the bar for munchies, so it isn't uncommon for drunks to pass through around here. Nothing like getting a knock on the door at 3am from a drunk that will not leave because they know that so-and-so lives here and they need a place to crash. Um, no!!!

My TTD Dress *pics*
EricaG replied to JennyK's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
That dress will look so great in the TTD pics. It is so cute and I think that the green colour will look great in your pics. -
That was an awesome story Becks!!!! Love the banana part as well. I was sitting here LMAO as quietly as a can so I don't wake the kids up. Morgan - Congrats on your legal day on Fri. I love the pics. I was sooo glad to see that you could at least take Nibblets to the legal ceremony since it won't work out for the symbolic in Mexico! LMAO!!!

Enough to Do in Punta Cana???
EricaG replied to Freckles's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
The resort we are getting married at we went to in 2005 and had a great time. We didn't really do any of the activities at the resort although there were plenty. We did the Bavaro runners excursion, and we did a half day catamarran trip with Lorenzo. He is independant and has a small catamerran, we went out snorkling and had a great time. We had a group of 15 on that trip and 12 of us went with Lorenzo. He is well known with the resort, so they suggested him for a half day trip. 4 of us did go parasailing too, and that was sold on the beach. It was soo fun and I want to go again. As for the shopping, we did go off the resort to the Bavaro Plaza which was located right outside our resort. It was nice and they have a little bar there as well as a $ exchange that has way better rates than the hotels. At this marketplace it is better to use Dominican pesos though, because they get charged a fee for exchanging the $ back to pesos.
