  1. I think AI is easier for the bride:) You won't feel obligated to pick up any tabs as you go like you would at a non AI. Dreams is close to town, as stated a $5 cab ride or 5o cents on the bus.

  3. I honestly cant think of any. Lots of DJs. Most restaurants have mariachi's roaming. I know that the pirate ship during the day is more geared towards families. The night one is a booze cruise. Wish I could help more but no idea.

Handmade Personalised Custom Bride and Groom by boogiebabys I absolutely HAVE to have a set made for our cake I think... but will have to wait to see what kind of clothing we'll be wearing, etc. Hope everyone's having a great week!! How fun!!! I think that they are super cute:)

Kate is right, PF can handle parties, reception etc. with much larger numbers than just 60. Have you already signed a contract with PF? If not, I would recommend trying to negotiate a lower rate for the offsite guests. $60/day is high. We just saw the Barcelo in Mislamoya and it was beautiful FYI. Neat, secluded area.

What happens if you get a higher rate and there isn't enough room? I'm hoping to do the full buyout so I was planning to send 60 invites. If I get 50% I'm golden, if I get a higher interest than what?!?! Well, there is 32 (i think) bedrooms so you should be fine. If not, there are hotels near by. There has been larger weddings here (100) and I know they worked it out with nearby hotels/shuttle.
  7. Hey girls, I am pretty sure karaoke is not an option any more because Aldo is no longer at PF. He was the DJ/bartender/karaoke singer. I know they have a good dj lined up but maybe he doesn't feel comfortable leading karaoke?!. Hope that changes! We had the fire dancers/drummers as a surprise for our guests after the welcome dinner and they were really cool. They do go for a long time. We played Texas Hold'em with Adam and Mel is right in saying he is a really great teacher. And we used the 10 piece mariachi band. They played for our processional, took their break during the ceremony, played the recessional and at least 30 minutes into the cocktail hour. After they were done the DJ will crank the music to keep the energy level up. Perfect and gave it the mexican vibe we were looking for! I also liked not having to worry about ceremony music, although my girlfriend did sing in the middle.

I would be careful when calling out moderators on the forum since they moderate this forum for free in in their spare time. As with anything new, there is a learning curve... however, there is an entire section dedicated on "how to" navigate the forum. If you do a search, you should have no problem finding your way around. The SEARCH button is on the very top, 5th over with a little arrow next to it. Very simple.
  9. Another idea I got from my sister (who is a graphic designer/photographer) was to get a plain white parasol and photoshop the words in after the fact. Ask your photographer if they can do that.
  10. Everything looks perfect! Congrats and love your dress.
  11. Good luck!!! I really hope it works and think it is great that you have such a good attitude about everything:) It'll pay off I am sure.
  12. Why dont you try posting this in the Dreams PV thread? There you will get advice from people that were married there. Otherwise, make a playlist on your ipod and let it go if you want music and dont want to spend the money. Now if you want to have a dance you may want to splurge.
  13. Man! From the title of this thread I though someone DIED or something. Not to be harsh, but no one is going to care about the details of your wedding as much as you. Sad I know, but the sooner you remember this the more you are going to enjoy the process and focus on what's important: You + FI= Married!
  14. Looks perfect Magalie.... your PF wedding will be here before you know it!
  15. Cara- this stinks but you have such a good attitude!!!! I really hope you have the perfect wedding and vacation- you DESERVE it!

And I am definately on the "you get what you pay for" bandwagon.
  17. If you do a search for must have wedding songs there is an extensive list of songs and playlists: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ing-songs-985/
  18. congrats Margie! He's perfect!
  19. Have you found the Dreams Cancun thread yet? There are several current/ past brides there to share with... you will recieve better answers there than by just starting your own thread. The search bar is in the top right drop down.
  20. Loved it all except the port... they lined us up and put stickers on it. I know, they have to but way too touristy for me! But once we got there it was AMAZING. I thought my night settings on the camera were working but not so much with all of the flickering light. So bummed! I'll post what I can.
  21. Crystal- glad you had such a great time! Great video! Can't wait to read your review and see your slideshow. Fx'd it is soon:)

Usually hotels want you to use their vendors not the other way around. In your profile it says Disney- are you looking for a new location If so, there are A MILLION all inclusive brides represented on this forum and they will indeed do everything for you.
  23. Can I put this in my siggy? So true. And add that there is no such this as FREE. They'll get you one way or another, that's life so deal.
  24. Ivy- how much fun was it to be in the middle of all of the Olympic action?!. So awesome! So what Magalie said is true... 50 cent (10 min) bus ride to the action or a 5 minute $8 cab ride... which is what we usually did. Either way it is really nice to be out a ways for the peace and quiet AND UNMATCHABLE VIEWS!!!! You are right that you made a great decision. Actually, DH and I were talking about even without PF we'd rather be closer to Mislamoya... it is so tropical and beautiful- less like vegas on the ocean! To each their own but we enjoyed Mislamoya, Boca and taking the water taxi to the little beaches including Yelapa the best! But we are not big going out people. The one bar/club we went to was Helo and really fun for one night! I recommend it, right accross from the Malecon so we walked/cooled off before going back to PF.
