  1. Hi girls! I hope everyone had a good holiday... Mel- still jealous you went back to PF. thought about you the whole time. I thought the 5% transfer was crazy too... but that's how it is done and it was nice to only have to do it once.
  2. Great Review!!!!! Still can't wait to see the pics:) You are sooooo pretty! And even more so in a wedding dress byh the way.
  3. We seriously need to find jobs that we can be off until January for the holidays!

  5. Crystal you really have it together! We printed our welcome newsletter the day before we left... well, mainly because that was Bill's job and he is a procrastinator. Don't worry too much about the dress, I mean I hope you love it... but it is only one piece of being the "bride." There is the hair, makeup, accessories and don't forget the beaming bride herself! You will be gorgeous I am sure of it!

  7. OK. I have tears in my eyes because I can 2nd everything you said! I am SO HAPPY that your wedding week was PERFECT despite a couple of hiccups= which is expected with a DW. CONGRATS to you both!

Table runners are a really good way to incorporate your colors and add a ton! Plus, they pack well. What is your color scheme? Sarah- not sure if I asked you before, but where in MN do you live? Jennie!!!!! I LOVE LOVE your pictures. You look beautiful and really love orange... my fave. And also love your cala liliy center piece. Love it all! Congrats.
  9. You are putting me to shame woman! How long did it take you to make? How long to ship? Love it by the way!

We have also offered to pay half of room for some guests and they say they can't take that offer, however, it's like people still don't realize we will end up paying for their whole room if they cancel. Anyways...just trying to decide on some ice breaker games for when everyone arrives. If anyone has any ideas...we will take them!! Hey... Mel had the tablerunners actually. Mel: could you post them here again? I rented table linens. 90 inch rounds I believe. They were aqua blue. Pics in my slideshow siggy. When are you getting married? And what is YOUR real name? Shreeti! Ok, well it was closer than I thought:) But feel much better knowing that for sure!
  11. Lindsay is with the hotel. Her and her husband own it in fact- he runs the hotel and she is the WC. They are awesome. My propics and video clip are in my signature if you are interested in seeing more!
  12. It is so fun to hear about all of your plans! I have to ask, Shreets- what is your real name? Hahaha don't want to call you that forever! We didn't pay for anyone's flights but we did help a couple of people with their hotel- just half though. Part of a destination wedding is letting go of the guest list I'm afraid... I was really bummed at first too... some of the people i thought would be there for sure didn't come. Lots didn't rsvp. But I let it go and the group that was supposed to be there, and wanted to be there, were! And whoever didn't MISSED OUT! I think it is great that you haven't chosen your wedding party yet Magalie. Believe it or not you are saving yourself some stress:) Bridesmaids dresses can be ordered last minute, so just pick them out with whomever you are thinking in mind... or pick the designer/color and then you have something to go with. I know David's and Jim Hjelm (Who I used) have tons of styles in each color so you are sure to get something that works! I am sure all BM dress designers are the same. It'll all work out! Oh and my colors were aqua and red (mainly bc of the flower choices) and I had already ordered the BM dresses in a darker blue (teal/ocean blue.) I talked to the wedding designer I used and she said that layering colors is very classy anyways... it DID turn out better than I could have imagined... even if I couldn't see the big pic at first. I think I am trying to say that it is ok if it isn't matchy matchy. Does that make sense?
  13. Sam those pictures are priceless! Can't wait to see your slideshow:) Magalie- I am sure you will make the right decision on the photographer! I remember this being a huge relief when the contract was signed/deposit in. It is TOTALLY worth it though:) The pictures I mean. Magalie - I know what you mean about the pictures. Michelle's pictures look great. We're still trying to decide on a date! I haven't even gotten to the fun stuff yet. We have a lot of family in London - so trying to coordinate dates, etc has been more difficult than I thought. So, how many waiters did ya'll have? Good luck on coordinating dates! I think it is pretty much all hands on deck for the wedding... I want to say that there is a waiter for every table of 8? Quote: Originally Posted by jdrewett I read in the contract the coordination and DJ were required. Does anyone know if they are flexible on this? I was planning on bringing my own photographer, but read about the extra $250 for the slideshow. I'm going to email my questions to Adam tomorrow. I always appreciate the input here too. Let me know your thoughts! Sam- Great pics! Can't wait to see the rest! Shreets- I was wondering the same thing. I used the catering industry standard of 1 server per 25 guests for estimating purposes in my budget. Well I know the coordination fee won't be negotiable bc that is Lindsay's payment for all she does from now until the day after your wedding. Believe me, she EARNS it. (Sam, did you see how much Lindsay runs aroud? My guests were amazed! No wonder she is so skinny!) The fee includes managing every detail from her and Blaire answering emails, checking into requests, coordinating flowers, music, cake, set up/tear down, candles, fireworks, food, service... and the list goes on! Not sure about the music but I would ask Lindsay/Blaire this question since they handle the wedding side. (Adam runs the hotel so ask him your room questions.) Hope this helps!
  14. Magalie I'd say 30... We had 37 people at the wedding and we are all dorky and did the macarena (Hey! When in Mexico....) and almost everyone participated and a couple we dancing around the pool... so you can dance around the pool too. Bill thought the dancefloor wouldn't get used much but he was so wrong! But it was nice bc even if there were just a few it felt more comfortable to have a place to go. TOTALLY understand budgets though.
  15. OMG Sam I love your pictures! You look stunning!!!! I love your fireworks pics:) So glad everything was perfect... congrats! And I did bring my own linens. They are heavier than you think so what I did was roll them and put them in a carryon suitcase and my parents carried (or rolled) that. Worked out great!
  16. Welcome Christa! I agree wit Mel's answers to your questions. I know the dancefloor seems pricey... but wait til you see the construction of it. Do you remember that past brides? Bill and I talk about how we wish we had a videocamera in place to tape everyone running around the 24 hours before the wedding and play it on fastforward... like they do before the superbowl or a big event setup sometimes. Isnt that a funny visual Mel? I wore wedge heels bc I'd kill myself in reg heels. I did wear them all night and they were comfy:) Mels shoes were AWESOME though. And past brides... can't wait to see your reviews!!! Even if they are short they are helpful. I put mine on Trip Advisor as well. Cheers!

I'm older, and everyone I know is married already, so I guess I was using this forum as a surrogate 'girlfriend'. I'm pretty hurt by what transpired. If you guys don't want people to post threads about things that have been discussed previously, and want people JUST to search topics, then maybe you should just close the forum entirely. Maybe this will cause me to be banned, or maybe it will just be taken as feedback, but I feel like I was treated as a second class citizen while I learned how this whole system worked. I found my dress, not that anyone even cares. My question to you is why would you post something THINKING you would be banned Here's the deal. This is a FREE forum that costs the owner money. MODS work for free too. Sooo... they volunteer to keep it running smoothly. if gals keep posting threads without searching, the site would get so bogged down no one could open a thing! I have seen the owner post that she is having to buy more space because of the overwhelming new content and memberships... which is great for us= new info. I understand being extremely busy and how overwhelming planning a wedding can be! We all do... so we need to help eachother out. There are threads started on almost every topic. There is a thread to post your dress where you can show it off!... and almost everyone subscribes to that thread. Everything is in categories so you should be able to find what you are looking for and participate! Have a random question you need an imediate answer to? Check with the ShoutBox girls! There is someone online there all day long and they are very welcoming! So what I am trying to say is welcome! participate! You'll love it here! 18. dang it... missed out on seeing your wedding pics I guess! I should search for reviews more often instead of waiting for them to be bumped!
  19. I love it!!! I am partial to lace and tulle myself:) Perfect for the venue!
