  1. Those are great!!!! I actually bought two dresses like that about 2 years ago from Nordstrom's Rack, one that was dark gray, the other a champagne color with a black pattern. They are super super cute and comfy!!! I paid $39.99 I think -- so $19.99 is a bargain!!! Your girls will love them
  2. The ribbon idea is definitely a good one especially if you want to incorporate teal into your color scheme! I think you should really look into using artificial -- I did this with our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made. It allows you to have total creative control of your vision and you know exactly what you're gonna end up with so you can really coordinate the rest of your decor with your flowers/colors. If you contact one of the artificial flower vendors, I'm sure they could provide you with lots of ideas according to your color preference. I personally used Roberta Wands of Plumerias Wedding Flower Boutique and spent about 1 month+ emailing her back and forth about my ideas -- she was so kind, patient and helpful throughout the creative process and really worked with my budget. If you're interested here's her website addy: PlumeriasWeddingFlowerBoutique And before I forget, the flowers she uses are top quality and look and feel so real!!! Even my mom and aunt, who are flower snobs who at first hated the idea of me using artificial, LOVED my bouquet and all the other flowers I ordered from her (BM bouquets, corsages, and bouts). She also has the frangipanis and tons of orchids -- lots can be made using your colors Otherwise there are lots of flower vendors suggested by other girls on the forum! Hope that helps
  3. We have friends who live in Playa who actually got us a mariachi band for our welcome dinner/fiesta, which was held at the villa we were staying at in Akumal. They were an awesome, all-female band!!! I have no clue how much they were as our friends paid for it as a gift, but I can certainly find out if you're interested. Everyone raved about how good they were and we ended up keeping them for about 2 hours because they were so so good and kept our entire group of 65+ dancing
  4. so cool!! Morgan you kill me, you are a woman of endless ideas and creativity ~ you are the shiznit

She just has such a special aura about her, which I'm sure you have too We are so happy we decided to do the Mayan ceremony, it was truly an unforgettable experience! What a FABULOUS idea for a photo; really represents the two of you freely coming together to join your lives as one. Just beautiful. Congrats, Mrs.! Enjoy your newlywed bliss...and make it last a lifetime! Christie, you always make the sweetest comments and it always make me smile We loved our photographer's style and are so happy with the way all the photos turned out! Thanks again for your kind words

Boy, how I wish I would have done that now. Our photogs didn't really capture the moment as I had hoped and asked them to. Seeing the emotion in those ones almost made ME cry. I can clearly see the joy and emotion in those ones. You looked beautiful! Hey girl, thank you for the compliments. The "first look" was such a great experience, and I was on the fence about it at first too. But I highly suggest it to future brides ~ definitely a special moment! And hey, I remember seeing some of your wedding photos, they were just as beautiful
  10. It's gorgeous and what a steal!!!! Make sure your girls are careful with that neckline though, it's a deep plunge and super sexy
  11. it's beautiful and so unique! i'm so not a jewelry aficionado but i think a custom made wedding ring that is formed around all sides of it would work -- yanno so that the center of your E-ring would slip through it's middle? Sorry I like I said I know nothing about jewelry so I sound so retarded trying to explain it
  12. You can also have one of the amazing BDW vendors make one for you They are all super talented and very reasonably priced! Here are a couple of the vendors on here that do this: Allurements by Rebecca Ana de Roux - Custom Invitations, Stationery & Design Sproullie Designs - Home
  13. Aaah I cannot wrap my brain around this, there are so many exciting possibilities -- I am now so tempted to spend the entire month of Sept. and early part of October traveling all over the country!!! Such an awesome deal for those of you still looking to honeymoon ~ why not jump around the country or even dabble in some of their international destinations JetBlue | All-You-Can-Jet Pass
  14. I used Turtle Bay Cafe and they make fabulous cakes/cupcakes and a desserts for reasonable prices. Lots of brides have used them on here and they've gotten rave reviews! They also deliver throughout the RM Here's their site: "Turtle Bay Cafe and Bakery", Akumal, Riviera Maya, Mexico, full service restaurant And a post on them I started a while back: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t39711
  15. love the smell : Husband's shirt
  16. Thanks everyone ~ this is such a cheap way to add your "brand" to all your wedding products. I know there are lots of companies out there that will make stickers/labels for you ~ but if you are a budget-concious bride like I was, trust me, this is the way to go! The packet of labels lasted me through all my DIY projects (which I have yet to post in a planning thread, sorry!)
  17. First off, thank you all for your lovely comments. While lots of work, it was so much fun making these and I highly encourage those who have time and want to venture into their creativity to give DIY invites a shot!! Quote: Originally Posted by nmoreau I love your monogram, it is so unique! Where did you go to have it created? Thank you! My monogram was actually created by my brother, who drew the design completely by hand on his computer sketchpad. I was blessed with a super talented artist in the family. And it was one of his many gifts of art given to us for our wedding Quote: Originally Posted by Dynasia I am drooling over your STD boarding passes! You go, girl! Do you have a thread for your invitations too? I actually do have a thread for my invites, however they were not DIY. We really wanted to have passport invites and we just didn't have the time to make them ourselves. So we went with Ana De Roux who happens to be a forum vendor ~ and she did an exquisite job!! Here's that link to my post: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t47225
  18. Joann, these are awesome!!! And just goes to show that fabulous invites don't have to be expensive and with a little creativity and design they look like a million bucks
