  1. Hey Lucy / Jilly ( or anyone who has an oppinion ) I have a list of questions that I was hoping you girls could help me with... I've been thinking about where to have the sit down meal and the music/dancing. Could you girls share what you did/are doing. 1. I think I would like to have the eavening meal on the garden area but I was worried about the weather if its raining or windy ect... Also if it is dark, do they supply some sort of lighting ?? 2. Then theres the dancing area... I don't really want to have to pay for the dance floor but I will if it makes a big difference, I was wondering about moving to the terrace area after the meal for the music and dancing ? Do you think this would be a good area for this, there will be around 30 guests ? 3. Is there a bar near by ? Also do you know if they use the bows from the ceromony chairs for the reception chairs ? 4. What did you / are you doing about music ? I've read some posts that most of you are using an IPOD, do you hook this up to their sound system ? If so is there a charge ? Sorry for the long post, Thanks alot x

On the bags, funny - I know that another bride (Katherine I think) had gotten bags from the hotel or her travel agent did. I sent the picture back to Claudia, and to our travel agent, to ask if they still have them and how to get them... On the tequila - seems VERY pricey... We could get it here for much less - but how to get it there? There has got to be another way, maybe just buy it when you get there. Steel drum band - We checked out both websites - but neither seems like a steel drum band. I know she quoted us a band a while back - not sure who she had in mind. This is the reason for our Caribbean Trio question today. On the rehearsal dinner - We have heard multiple stories on this from other brides. It all seems to depend on party size - so I asked for more clarification. Anybody heard anything about the "Adult Only" bit at the end? Wedding time - I know its summer - but this seems VERY late in the day. Sunset seems to be around 7:30 in July, so maybe not - what are everyone's thoughts on this? Just as an FYI - we have the Ultimate package, to put the menu questions in context... Translation time - seems very short (1 week) Anyone heard otherwise? Attachments - she sent a bunch - if anyone wants any, please let me know your email and I will send along... We have older questions that I will post as well, just for info purposes... Hi There, Thankyou sooo much for posting all of your Q&A Please could you email me the attachment, my address is [email protected], Thankyou x

I know some reception places won't let anyone touch there stuff, call them and find out. Hi there, maybe a dumb question but I'm not that great with technology LOL I'm assuming that you wouldn't use the small speakers for the IPOD and hook it up to a bigger / better sound system @ the hotel ?

  5. Hi Paula Thank you so much for posting all your planning info here! I bet it seems so sureal ? I really hope everything goes to plan for you, Can't wait to hear and see more !!!

I am sure that was no help to you but I guess we are leaning towards dj and we only have 35-40 people too. Hi Lucy, I'm in exactly the same boat ! We will have roughly 30 guests and we are paying for the "ultimate package" and also requesting quite a few of the extras. If you decide to go for the DJ will you have the dance floor too ? I really can't justify paying the hourly rate for the DJ and the dance floor ect... Do you know if there is somewhere we can dace without having to pay extra for the dance floor, also how does the I POD work ? the IPOD speakers would surly not be loud enough ? Sorry for bombarding you with questions LOL

I was divorced too so I had to get extra paperwork that most of you won't need. Getting my name changed on everything wasn't too bad. All in all it was worth it to us because of our marriage certificate (en Espanol) is the ultimate keepsake of our beautiful Mexican Wedding. BE ASSURED THAT IF YOU ARE LEGALLY MARRIED IN MEXICO YOU ARE LEGALLY MARRIED IN THE US. City hall gave us mixed messages too regarding the legality issue. I believe I found clarification on the US Dept. of State website. Hi there, my FI and I are both from England and we are having a legal wedding in Mexico so we have got to go through all the paper work / blood tests ect... I know there is info on the Dreams website but I'm having sleepless nights over this ! and I'm not 100% sure about what needs doing at home first and what is done when we get to Mexico, I'm assuming its the same if your from the US. Please could you list me the info regarding what is done @ home and what is done in Mexico ? I've heard the mention of an appostle and Affidavits / Statutory Declorations I'm really not good with all this, please help !!!!

Do we pay before we arrive in Mexico or when we get there? She replied: First we will need 50% deposit from the wedding package you selected and remaining balance you can pay it on arrival or in advance as you prefer. Please find payment options attached. I am waiting to hear back on when she expects the deposit..... Hi Jenn, I'm soooo confused, at the moment my TA is telling me I don't have to pay onother deposit to the one I have paid to secure the accomodation, my TA is also organising the booking of the wedding package so maybe this is the difference? I suppose I will have to wait and see, good job I've got plenty of time! LOL

Claudia sent me an email with ways to send her money and she doesn't even have a paypal account set up or anything she wants me to send her my credit card information...which like I said I'm not comfortable with, anyone could get ahold of that information that way, it's just not a very secure way of doing it. I'll get back to you with what else I find out. Let me know if you find out anything else as well. Hi Carolena, Thanks for your response, wow its soooooo close for youo now! I bet you really excited, do you know if you have to go through all the legalities that I have to comming from England ? It seems a bit of a nightmear really, there dosn't seem to be a lot of info about this and different people say different things, AAARRRR !! Anyway... My TA has said shes going to find out and get back to me, so as soon as I know anything I'll let you know x
  10. Oh no! I think I'm confusing matters between my Travel agant and Daniella @ Dreams! I was in contact with Dadiella before I booked through my TA so I have carried on asking her questions regarding extras and so on. Anyway to cut a long story short my TA thinks that Daniella thinks I am booking my wedding direct with her (even though I have explained I have already booked through a TA) Daniella has emailed me to say she is working on my contract and I will need to pay 50% deposit and my TA says I don't pay anything!! AARRRRR !! My TA has advised me not to contact Dreams for the time being, I hope I havn't coursed problems, what do you guys think?

    hi

and congratulations ! you'll love this site, it has helped me tons! Do you have any ideas of destinations yet ? Good luck and happy planning
  12. JODEY

    Hello hello

and congrats, This forum is ace, loads of info and ideas! How long have you had your destination planned ? Is it booked yet ?
  13. A question for those who have either been to Dreams for their wedding or have got their wedding date confirmed - I have booked through a TA called Tropical Sky, they have told me that I don't have to pay a separate deposit for the wedding package but I have been in contact with Daniella and she informs me that weather you book direct or through an agent you still have to pay a deposit for the wedding package, this isn't a problem for me but I just wondered what you guys did ?
  14. Wkd idea, I don't think its lame, everyone will really appreciate it, such a personal touch !

Do you mean its a totally new/different web site or has it been updated ? Thankx
  16. That is awful!! But your not on your own, my FMIL is the same! Her name isn't Pauline by any chance is it ? LOL I totally understand what your going through, I could type a million stories about some of the stuff I've had to put up with. My FMIL wanted me to have a BBQ in our local pub CAR PARK! Shes not inpressed we're having a DW either but you know what I'm sick to death of pleasing her and other people and she now knows where she stands, hopfully what happened with your FMIL has happened for the best and you can now iron these problems out, your FI probably thought he was helping, use it to your advantage and don't let her win ! Most of Mine and Simons arguments used to stem from family issues and I just refuse to let it bother me, if I have an issue I get it off my chest even if it means "some people" hearing what they don't want to, (sorry for the long reply, this is something I feel very strongly about!) Hope this helps x
  17. EEWWWW That is grose!! I always have lemon with my drinks as I'm rather partial to a large G&T, Although I have heard a similar story about drinking from bottles too, you just don't know where they've been stored, so you may want to re-think that one too !
  18. and congratulations !! I am also a Dreams Cancun Bride, Tell us more about your plans, are you all sorted yet, what is your colour scheme ect... You will love this site, sooooo much info and ideas, it truly is a god send

Good luck with the planning and if theres anything we can do just SHOUT !!
