The other thing I did was look carefully at previous DC brides pictures to be sure to ask for certain things. This may not be what you want to hear, it was advice I also received...but know that about a month before your wedding date you will receive quick turnarounds on your emails. They have so many events each week I can understand how weddings that are far out don't take priority. When I met with Claudia I realized I was worried about nothing. She had a folder full of our correspondence and pictures I sent. She made suggestions when I told her my ideas and she is the expert. So, don't worry, it will be perfect! Hi Paula, Hope you are better now ? I am under the impression that untill a deposit of 50% is given for the package nothing including the prices are fixed ? Did you pay a deposit of 50% ? If so how did you do this if the contract wasn't fanalised untill you got there? Did you still sign the contract but change the odd things afterwards ? Thanx again x

Meal Courses and Dancing - scheduling
JODEY replied to nylalany's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Yes I agree with Lucy, I know over here in the UK we eat first and dance after, I personally prefer it this way then people have time to let their food settle before hitting the dance floor, If I did this I don't think I would enjoy my food, but don't let that put you off x -

I am not upgrading my picture package, we figured 50 pics with the ultimate package are enough, plus the TTD thats plenty. Yeah, thats sounds good, I think I will enquire about a TTD session with Cecilia, Are you having a 2nd dress for your TTD ? I don't know If I dear use my actual wedding dress, I think it would break my mums heart to see me jump in the water with it on LOL !

Hi there, makes sense, I just wondered if there was more to it, thanx for your reply, Have you ever done a wedding @ Dreams Cancun ?

Also have you decided if you are upgrading your photopraphy package yet ? I know we kind of touched on this subject on the main "DREAMS" thread, Daniella confirmed that the photos you get with the ultimate package are not any of the packages that you can upgrade to. I thought it was package 3 that was included. She also said that there wouldn't be a credit against any of the other packages, these can only be added, hope this helps x

It would be great if we all lived close by, have a good old gossip LOL X So heres my confession (similar to some of the others).... I can't belive I did it for so long now looking back but I lived with my FI's parents for about 7 yrs !!! Because I've been with him since I was 15 Arrrr.... Any way, I do love his parents, they would do anything for us BUT - HERE IT COMES.... FMI she always has to be centre of attantion, shes always there when we go out and calls my FI everyday, shes told me I've put weight on before and always tells me when she dosn't like my hair and make up ect... When I showed her a picture of my wedding dress she just said "oh thats nice" and carried on telling me something else, I wish I hadn't bothered showing her !! I could go on forever. The best part is they havn't booked yet because FI's dad has Addisons disease and may not be able to fly apparently but loads of people fly with Addisons, shes just always got to make a big issue out of everything, WOW I feel better now, thanks x

We will do another trip later this year, or early next, on our own... Heck, with all the research into picking the destination for our DW, we have a whole list of places we want to go. We are also planning on the whole "bring our own sound system" idea. When we read about Jill doing it, we thought that was a good idea and then we would have something to use for outdoor parties back home. Our wedding is small (25) but we will still do the sound for the ceremony from the hotel just to be on the safe side. We are also doing a catamaran trip on Saturday (two days before) for all our guests - we did the trip before ourselves and had a blast, and we figured it would be a fun group activity for everyone. Still working out the whole rehearsal bit... Hi there, I really like the idea of a catermeran trip for your guests, do you have to book it when you get there or have you already got this organised ? Would you mind me asking the price of this per person ? Also how many does the catermeran hold, our party will be beween 30 / 40 guests, will this be too many ??

So..... Here goes, (I'll list my budget in pounds so I suppose you can double it for dollars) 2 weeks AI Holiday/honeymoon/accomodation & flights etc for both of us £3060 Dreams Ultimate wedding package (which includes 20 guests) £1395 Blood tests per couple £170 Translation of both birth cirtificates £56 Validation & cirtification of marriage licence £93 Sound system for ceremony £101 Additional 20 people for cocktail hr £285 Additional 20 people for reception dinner £545 Sound system for reception for 3 hrs £304 (may be able to save money here if we take our own sound system) 4 x bridesmaids bouquets £137 Gazibo deco £143 Chair bows for 40 guests £85 Hair up for 4 bridesmaids £71 (we may decide to do this ourselves) 7 bottles of champagne for toast £144 TOTAL SO FAR £6690 = $13'045 These items below I don't count in the budget - wedding dress - £1350 (parents paying for) Bridesmaids are paying for their own dresse (although I would like to contribute if I can) Hand held raffia fans £30 (not ordered yet) invitations £20 (which a friend of mine has kindly made) wedding bands £ 400 MAX (we don't personally feel the need to spend a huge amont on this) Bridal shoes £200 Bridal under ware £150 veil £100 Then there is the bridesmaids gifts and spending money for holiday blah blah blah..... I would like to keep the budget under £7'000 / $13'650 if we can, this would be amaizing as we went to a family wedding last year that cost £25'000 / $48'750 just for the one day !! we'll see .....

WOW !! Thank you so much for all of that, I really appreciate it as I'm sure 100 other Dreams brides do too ! You've got it all planned out so well, I think you idea with taking your own sound system is great, I know quite a few other brides have done this, my consern was the volume but I could be persuaded if it saves us a fair bit of money, my brother is a DJ too so I'm sure he will be able to point us in the right direction... Have you got your dress ordered yet, I'd love to see it ! x
