  7. Okay - so I am going to get that little Caterina and squeeze her! Those thighs in that swimsuit pic looks like my son's at that age. I am a sucker for his chunky legs! My little guy has always been an eater. That kid eats night and day! ~ so yes, Jaci - my boy eats a lot and nope - never gains. Wyatt and Zoe are SO cute! That Wyatt is a handsome little guy! Watch out ladies! I know he HAS to have one of those shirts that says "Ladies Man" Savannah - all of your little ones are so sweet! Aren't they at a great age? Do they talk a lot? My son will be 4 in December and I swear - I want to nick name him "the Rambler" He rambles on and on and on... Yes Abbie - I think I've only seen the kids in your wedding pics - we need more! Christine - Ansleigh is getting so big. She is such a pretty girl. My gosh, she is sweet! I'll post some new pics of my kiddos tonight.
  8. Erica, When I saw this thread I thought I was reading wrong. OMG honey, I am so sorry to hear about this with your family. I will keep you in my prayers so that God can give you strength during this time. How are you holding up? You are so courageous to stand up to him and everyone else so that your kids can have some sense of a normal childhood; and you some sort of normal relationship. You have a strong will and will get through this. Some times people have to hit rock bottom and it sounds like this is it for Larry. Some time away from everyone, everything and outside influences may be just what he needs to prioritize his life. Hopefully when he gets out he will be able to establish a relationship with you with boundaries and he can be the father he really wants to be for his kids. One day at a time sweetie. Know that we are here for you! Love ya, Celina
  9. I would love to see the plates you used Erin - they sound SO cute!
  10. I'm going down at the end of April - you girls let me know if you need anything while I am there! We are staying at the RIU Vallarta for a post-mini-honeymoon (for old times sake) Ha ha! I can take some pics or whatever, just let me know! Wouldn't it be awesome if I could just move there and be the new WC for RIU? Ahhh...my dream job! LOL!
  11. I absolutely love your dresses and flowers. I wish I would have found those dresses, I definitely would have bought them for my BM's. Great combo!
  12. Is your reception in the evening or day? If its during the day - do you want the kids wandering off with their sand buckets to look for shells? Who is going to watch them while they do this? If it's during the evening, you definetely don't want them wandering off. Granted we only had 4 kids, but our dinner was at 6:30. I put stickers, crayons, paper, glow sticks and coloring books. It kept them busy and in their seats. During the dancing part of the reception, the kids mostly played with the glow sticks and they ran around and danced.
  13. I think they would work. They look like they could even be used for groceries or shopping afterwards.
  14. She's probably super busy. Don't stress too much. She'll take care of it all when you get there. I suggest that if you have any specific things that you are taking or want a seating chart that you are specific and write it down and give them explicit instructions - in writing. I felt that they weren't taking notes when I met with them, but I gave them everything in writing and it all worked out. Another thing to remember is if you need any of your dresses pressed make sure to ask her about it as well. They will need the dresses the day before the wedding. It was very minimal cost and they did a good job.
  15. I used reflections cutlery and rolled it in paper ivory dinner napkins and tied it with a the same sheer teal colored ribbon that was used on other wedding stuff.
  16. I agree with Jennifer - you have a lot of time and if he sees something amiss - I'm sure he'll say something. My DH was involved in more than I thought he would be but it all will work itself out in the end. Good luck and happy planning!
  17. It's kind of hard to say. On one hand you have people who may not be able to find sitters, or if the kids are school age, can't find someone to take them to and from school while they are out so they may treat this as a family vacation. If you do an adults only hotel, those that come with kids may have to stay at a different hotel; in that case they may have to purchase day passes in order to attend and then who will pay for that? I know - lots to consider, but I hope this helps!
  18. #1 - this girl sounds like a spoiled brat. #2 - she HAD her wedding - she should let her brother have his #3 - she sounds VERY - and I repeat VERY insecure I say ignore her. She is doing it for attention (like most spoiled brats do) and move forward with your plans. What she doesn't realize is that this special time will only come once and she should be supportive and enjoy this, but instead she is chosing to act like a big ass baby. Neither of my two siblings came. One caused so much drama all the time that we asked her not to come and the other who had almost a year and a half to save couldn't save for the trip. Enjoy your planning time without her uglyness. Sadly, you see the worst in people during wedding planning. Strange but true.
  19. I'm not sure if Erika is still there, but I do know that Jessica was her assistant when I was there. Did you rent the pool bar (Mezcal)? If so - don't worry - you can take kids. It is outside and the whole party, kids and adults are fine. We had one of the kids pass out on a lounge chair. It's pretty open and they put the tables aside and leave a dance floor space. The bartenders were making Shirley Temple's for the kids. I think at one point Erika said that they werent obligated to talk to us until about details until we got there. Have you tried contacting the main RIU Wedding number? I ended up e-mailing or calling and got some help from them when I changed the time of my wedding. They confirmed that my wedding was at the RIU Vallarta and confirmed my time and package. If by chance they screwed up and have your reception dinner listed at the Jalisco - believe me when I say they will correct it when you get there. They give weddings prefferential treatment as far as dining choices and times. I know what you mean by being frustrated. Try not to stress ~ I know - easier said than done!

I think there is one at each hotel (Vallarta and Jalisco) I attached the price list that was given to me for last year. They sent it to me in mid-October and our wedding was November 8th. I didn't use any of the bridal packages - I only had them do my hair. I did my own make up. Hope this helps! P.S. If you can't view the file, PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send it to you. 21. $110 NO WAY!!! Okay...I just checked the old list I had and it lists $66 to $110. Do you have extra long hair? I shopped around and their prices were comparable to others in the city. Nuevo Vallarta is a 20 minute ride to downtown so once you factor in the cost of a cab (An additional $40) - it may not be worth it. There may be a salon in Bucerias that may be closer - I don't know - but a cab ride is $7 one way. I wonder what they base the $66 price on? The day of your wedding you do not want to be riding around in the heat trying to get your hair done. After looking at my old wedding files, I see that I sent them some pics and asked them if they could do the style and that must be where they came up with the price. My hair came to $85. They sent me a reciept/voucher for my deposit and the two free body scrubs for me and DH. I also see that I got a bit of a discount for booking on line. Ask them if they'll give you a discount for booking on line.
