State St (dick blick) 225 W. Chicago Ave (this is not actually a dick blick store, its the pearl paint store across the street frm papersource) 332 S Michigan Ave (Utrecht art store near the school of the Art Institute) you should ask for either fabriano medioevalis or arturo fine stationery products, its the same thing but goes by two dif names. most places carry the white and the ivory. Thanks Maura, I know exactly where the stores are, next to Design within Reach. yep. thanks so much. I can't wait to get these last minute details done!! I'll see what they have and email you. Thanks again.
  2. thanks Abbie, Maura, and Rebecca. I'll see if i can find it precut first and then go for the DIY project.

  4. I'm trying to figure out how to get this look for our wedding menus. Anyone know how to give the torn edge effect without actually having to tear 90 menus thanks.
  5. Thanks Jaime for the review. we, along with many of our guests, staying at the Westin in PV for our wedding in 43 days!! so happy that it got decent reviews. bummer about the beach though...oh well at least we didn't pay an arm and a leg. we definitely plan on making a run to wal mart for "supplies"-beer, wine, margs...etc. to save some pesos.

So you better believe I am going to out there tonight with my camera! I heard that on the radio this morning on Eric and Kathy. Johnny Depp is the only actor I had heard was in town... good luck

  11. if you buy something, put the change away. it adds up quickly. once we had over $200 in change.
  12. I booked Kristi Klemens (at KLK photography) for photography and her fiance, Paul Bennett (at Blue Sky Videos) for Videography for my wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this coming May. they are based out of Newport Beach, CA but are willing to travel to just about anywhere. She has been great to work with in all of the planning, very flexible and definitley willing to work with you. we have organized wedding coverage and a TTD session after the wedding. I'm very excited to work with both of them as their websites show how talented they both are in their field. Check Kristi out at KLK PHOTOGRAPHY and Paul at index . let me know if you have any questions, i'd be happy to answer for you.

Keeping it from burning out. And I know i can buy the candles for cheap, add a few decorations to it and would probably cost me no more than $20 for 3 candles.
  16. has anyone done this? I want to make memorial candles for my grandparents that have passed. I love these pictures of some knottie brides which have done this such thing. however, i'm having a hard time finding plain candles that I can embellish. check out the photos below. this is what i'm after.

  18. I also ordered from dollarimprint.com. I ordered 100 custom koozies for $125.50. you can order 50 also, and possibly less than that just is more expensive to order less. I only needed 90 but it was cheaper for me to print 100 than to go with 90 because the pricing was based on the 50 lot costs. I haven't gotten them back yet, but i did get my proof. we decided not to put our names on the koozie just location and date and our heart icon that we used throughout the decor (invites, programs, etc.). here's our proof. it'll be in texas orange and white print. you can print on both sides but it was more expensive and not necessary for us. 19. Carly, I'm jealous. We are getting married the same day. I'm almost there just waiting on things and still need to write my vows, do the rehearsal dinner slideshow and get shoes. Waiting on getting this back from our designers like menus, programs, etc. other than that, i'm sort of on top of it. just need to get those few big things done.

I really want to book her, but I would feel a little bit more comfortable biting the bullet if I could see recent pics, or hear recent success stories Thanks in advance!!! Marisol I'm using Kristin & DD. have you asked for any referrals? I asked her for a couple of bride's names and I emailed all three and got rave reviews. I also spoke to one at length and she said nothing but wonderful things. Also, have you checked out her website with pics? there are a few updated (late 2007) ones. Just ask her exactly what you are after, maybe even for some pics from recent weddings? two of the brides i was in contact with sent me pics. but there weddings were in 2006. i hope that helps.
  21. shoot, i wish i would have known about this place. Maybe the girls will go there for our PV bach party on the wednesday before the wedding. if you find out any info, please do share. thanks a bunch.
  22. wow, great stuff Rachel...and you kept saying you were low key. Seems like you did a lot!!! congrats!

I was hoping that since we're having the wedding in Maui in the fall, maybe the beaches wouldn't be as busy as at other times of the year. As far as people not being able to hear anything, I don't know what to say about that, but I'm thinking if it's that windy, then the same issue will likely apply even if we did the ceremony in a grassy area somewhere, especially since we'd still want it to be near the water. I don't want the photos to be full of random people in their bathing suits though, and I'd like for the sound not be completely drowned out on the video! Anyone who has had a beach ceremony or been to one, I'd love to hear your thoughts! I don't know if it makes any difference, but we're having the wedding in Wailea, Maui, and the officiant is booked for 5:15pm. We attended a beach wedding at the Grand Wailea in Oct 2006. It was a lovely hotel and ceremony. But it was kind of distracting with others around the ceremony. there is a running/walking path that went directly behind the minister (where wedding guests were all looking in that direction) and runners/walkers would stop and stare at the ceremony. As a wedding guest, i would notice every once in awhile. And there were a lot of people in their bathing suits hanging around watching. Again the ceremony was lovely, beautiful location but definitely not private 100%.
