  1. I think it's a great idea too! a friend of mine did it through their hotel in Maui...I think the Princeville? They too pretty much had everything and just wanted to "treat" themselves to spa, surfing lessons, snorkeling, etc. I tried to buy for them, but it was too close to their departure...one thing with their registry that was a bummer, had to buy weeks maybe even months in advance of their stay. Don't know the details of the other HM registires. I say go for it!!

I'm trying with a friend who's a travel agent but not sure if it will work out. did you work with a TA? would you recommend him/her?

Karens place at Bucerias (http://www.virtualvallarta.com/puert...index.shtmland) Hope that helps! Is Karen's Place a restaurant or just a caterer? Sorry, also, where is Bucerias in relation to the Marina and Nuevo Vallarta? Did you have to bring your own drinks?

  10. Renting the house just for the day also. too expensive to rent for longer unless we charged our guests, which doesn't seem right. Good idea on the brunch. we thought we organize a brunch the next day but that everyone would cover their own. Hopefully, they won't mind. We are getting closer in booking a rehearsal place, i'll be sure to pass along the iniformation just in case you'd like to see. Also, did you organize a hotel for your guests? I'm debating on that...
  11. We are holding our wedding at Casa Salamandra, a private villa in nuevo Vallarta. Have you organized hotels for your guests? I'm trying to navigate that task currently.
  12. thanks ladies, can anyone recommend a good TA to go through? I don't know where to start. thanks!

  14. welcome. good luck!!
  15. I've tried to arrange a room block at the Westin for our guests but they want to charge my CC $3,000 as a refundable deposit. Is this normal practice? we really like the hotel and seems reasonable for price but I don't see it fair to actually charge my CC unless we don't fill the room block by the cut off date. Any suggestions? Or should I go a different route, through a travel agent? Thanks!
  16. I contacted two of her referrals and they just raved about her and her team. I actually talked to one girl for awhile and all my fears we put at ease. BTW, i'm getting married the week before your wedding on the 17th of May. Very excited!!
  17. Bethtamar, are you planning your rehearsal dinner or are you having Kristin plan it? we are currently trying to find a place through DD to accomodate 90 people for a sit down/buffet dinner with drinks for a welcome/rehearsal dinner. but finding places can't stay within our $50-60/pp budget. any suggestions? thanks! we've looked at agave grill and villa Premiere for a cocktail and heavy appetizers but no dinner...
  18. Thanks! that's helpful information. did the salon provide any photos of bridal hairdo's they've done in the past? Or do you mind posting your photos after you get married...just like to see examples. thanks!
  19. we decided on Casa Salamandra in July with Kristin's recommendation. seems like we are in the same planning stages. we are bringing in our own photographer but same with the venue, caterer, etc. Are you doing a rehearsal dinner with all your guests? we are trying to figure that out but with around 90-100 guests, get expensive?
