  1. My BM's ordered their dresses from Prom Dresses 2009, Wedding Dresses, Bridesmaids Dresses & Special Occasion Gowns 2010. The prices were much less than at bridal shops or anywhere else online that I found. Plus free shipping - and you can search for coupon codes. Also, if you sign up on the site but don't order right away, you will get a discount code emailed to you. My BM's all wore Bari Jay dresses and they were all perfect when they arrived - and all arrived before the estimated delivery date. I highly recommend this site. (I bought my dress off the rack at David's Bridal ... so didn't need to shop around for pirces on that - but presume wedding dress prices will also be less than elsewhere if they have your brand and style # available).
  2. That is a friggin' smokin' hot dress. I LOVE it and it will be absolutely perfect for a DW! Can't wait to see YOU in it!!!

I'm having trouble finding any info/ratings on the one they offer though: NV Prosecco, Il Follo Villa Luigia Brut Valdobbiadene. Here is a review of it ... Artisan Vineyards - Il Follo Prosecco Just google "il follo" and you will find a few more reviews on the Prosecco. Sometimes when searching for info on a wine, putting in too much info won't get you enough results or accurate results. :-) It sounds yummy!
  4. Yay that your MOH will step up for you. You shouldn't have to be involved anyway, since you don't plan your own shower, lol! Let us know how it goes!
  5. Great review - and TammyHost - thanks for adding to it with more info. Sounds like a place we need to look into for a future vacay!
  6. Great review and teaser pics! Sounds awesome - and I agree - Stay far away from the time share people, lol.
  7. Then I would just tell her that you don't know since you didn't plan it. Just play dumb like you have no idea what is going on and then you've done your part and your MOH can take it from there. She can call your friend and say you had asked her about bringing the kids so she wanted to let you know ("without ruining any of the shower secrets by telling the bride") that its an adults only shower...
  8. GREAT review and thanks for adding pics - they really help us to visualize! Everything sounds like it was amazing. Those pools by the rooms that are also right next to the walkways seem a little weird. Hard to relax with people constantly walking by, I presume...
  9. You have every right to tell her its adults only. Showers usually are. Just tell her how sorry you are , but that it wasn't planned that way. Who is throwing your shower anyway - your BM's? Why don't you have the hostesses handle telling her 'no kids allowed'. That would keep you out ofit and off the hook. :-)
  10. How cute! I love that FH wanted everyone to "see" his proposal, lol!
  11. That's great news! Isn't it great to get positive feedback?! :-) Just as a word of caution - don't get too excited about all the "count us in's" ... simply b/c if it is anything like ours - we had a LOT of people say they were coming and then not be able to or simply not follow through. Hopefully Vegas will be easier for more family and friends to make for you. And oh what fun!!!
  12. This one lets you set up funds ... so you could set up a Honeymoon Fund and a Landscaping Fund. MyRegistry.com - All Stores One Registry ®
  13. Not at all. Register for what you need/want. We used Honeymoon Wishes - Honeymoon Bridal Registry your wedding gift is the perfect honeymoon to get $$ to use on our honeymoon for excursions, etc. I am sure there are plenty of other general registry sites where guests can give monetary amounts towards certain thins that you choose. With our honeymoon registry - we actually were just sent the $$ via PayPal ... but it allowed guests to feel like they were contributing toward specific things. Does that make sense?
  14. There are no costs with using a TA, which means they are more than worth it. Search the travel forums and you will find all the answers to your questions. Good Luck!

I am trying to live in the present and not worry too much about it, but it makes it hard knowing that he will eventually be deployed. It must feel so good when they come home after being away but I'm sure it must be hell when they're gone (the longest I have had to go was 2 months when my FI was in training). Congrats again and continue to share your stories! Glad you found us! If you are not used to being alone, the deployments can be especially tough. I was so used to being on my own that when DH deployed, I handled it better than I thought. Just make sure you take part in the support groups that are offered and try to build a good support system of friends around you. You will have good days and bad days, for sure. Hopefully by the time he gets deployed, we will be closer to peace time.

I haven't tried it ... but the brand has a good reputation as far as reasonably priced wines go. Quote: Originally Posted by Hoosierfan I've been trying Rose's and I've gotta say, yum! I used to think of pink wines as just basically white zinfandel untilI started selling wines. Rose wines are usually drier in style - not sweet like white zin's. One fabulous rose is Montes Cherub. It has a pic of cupid w/ a bow and arrow on the front and is an upscale quality out of Chile for a fraction of the upscale price. Slightly sweet but not syrupy sweet ... and fabulously crisp. I promise if you find it, you will love it!
  17. I have been using the Banana Boat Summer Color Air Mist Tan in "Airbrush Color" with a citrus scent. It's like $7 at Wal-Mart and I LOVE it. It just gives you nice color and glow without the streakiness of some of the others - and looks totally natural.
  18. Also, we have lots of BIG flea markets around here that are $5 a table - so clean out the house or get started on some of the aforementioned DIY projects that can make you some extra money!
  19. Looks great! Avatar is my choice too. Siggy is nice as well, but you would need to lighten up that purple background b/c the smaller yellow font is too hard to read. Nice job on both!
  20. Diane - The WC should be able to book your hair appt for you - and for any BM's that want theirs done as well. I told my WC how many girls were getting their hair done and what time I wanted to get things started and she had it all set up for us.
  21. The Melia was right next door to our hneymoon resort, Paradisus Palma Real - and I wasn't too impressed with Melia. I can't give a review or anything, but from what I saw - if Ocean Sand is getting such great reviews from these gals - I'd go with that instead of Melia...
  22. Fab pics! I love the kids shot and the one w/ your head on his shoulder looking at the ocean. And those BD pics are SMOKIN'! CONGRATS oin a beautiful weddin and unbelieveable pictures!!!!
  23. There are tons of reviews of different resorts in different price ranges. Looking through these threads is a great way to narrow down your choices! Good Luck!
  24. Hannah - I would check out the vendor area for photog suggestions. There are so many that come highly recommended here on BDW. I LOVED my photog and a friend used her for a stateside wedding and also loved her. A lot depends on your photography budget. Also - check out the other DR threads for off-resort activities, excursions, restaurants, etc. We went off resort several times to a local dive bar (Steves Corner Bar) and to eat at Jellyfish - and I HIGHLY recommend doing both (we took taxis). Also, we did the Saona Island tour and it was THE BOMB. The Monster Safari also comes highly recommended and we are going to do that next time. Happy Planning!!!
