  1. I vote #3. The splash of color is nice, without being overwhelming. The sash at the waist will show off your waist.
  2. Hi, I am also a Cancun bride (Dreams Cancun)! What resort are you at? Let us know if we can be of any help!
  3. 8 glasses or 2 Liters is what you need a day...Some of that water intake can be through the food you eat. Fruits and vegetables both have a very high water content, but most people still need to drink water to get enough. Water is essential to a healthy diet, and many studies have shown that people who drink 8 glasses of water a day are more able to maintain a healthy body weight than those that don't. If you exercise at high intensity levels, you will need to drink extra water to replenish water you've sweated off. So keep drinking that water and get your 5 fruits/vegetables a day! Lots of time people eat, when really they are thirsty. Sometimes if I'm having a craving, I drink a glass of water and wait 10 minutes. If I still feel hungry, then I know I'm actually hungry...but often times all I need is the water and I realize I wasn't actually hungry.
  4. I have never heard this wording before...very nice. My only suggestion is that you may want to consider using your mothers' first names and opposed to Mr. and Mrs. Henry and "Jane" __________ Lawrence and "Jane"____________ This way his mother is specifically mentioned as opposed to just his step-dad. I also personally think that the Mr. and Mrs. thing is kind of old-fashion...why should the woman's name be dropped? Anyway, that's how I did my wording...just a suggestion
  5. Welcome! You are definitely in the right place! Make sure to post your engagement story...I never get tired of reading them!
  6. Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing! I am getting married in Cancun in Oct., and will definitely take a closer look at all your information!
  7. Funny thing...I was about to ask the same question...except I'm actually at the 6 month point. I have my dress, but not BM dresses, nothing for FI or GM. I've booked my photographer and videographer. I know what kind of flowers I want. I have ordered the supplie for my DIY invites. I think have found a DJ. I've got a ceremony time, and reception location picked. What am I missing...OOT bags, groom and GM attire, cake (not that important to me), music..... I'm teacher, so I'm hoping to get a lot done once summer rolls around, but I don't want to be too busy that I don't have time to work on my tan
  8. Don't freak out yet! I have 6 months to go, and haven't ordered BM dresses. I am also going with bright colors for bouquets (mainly fuschia and orange calla lilies). I want the dress to be a shade of bright blue (aqua/tourquoise). I have BM with all different skin tones and I think this is a color that will look good on both the palest and the darkest...and look nice with the beautiful blue of the Caribbean. Right now I'm looking at Jim Hjelm dresses in chiffon...he offers a lot of different styles that you can order in the same color and fabric. I like the light feel of chiffon, and it seems a little less formal, which is what I want for an outdoor DW. I'm letting my BM choose which style works best for them. I have 7 girls...all different shapes and sizes and ages...so I knew it was going to be next to impossible to find one style that worked for everyone. So all my BM will be in the same color and fabric, but all with slighty different dresses. Anyway...point is...I think a brighter blue would look nice with your flowers...or possibly a light green (maybe without the orange roses).
  9. Great story...and how fun to be completely surpised! I was in shock too, and absolutely balled....and forgot to say yes (until he reminded me
  10. I am also an Oct. bride (Cancun). Welcome to the forum!
  11. Great story...thanks for sharing. I love reading about proposals! Can't wait to see a pic of that ring!
  12. Hi Sophie! We are getting married at Dreams Cancun in Oct. of this year! We vacationed there last Oct. (before we were engaged), and absolutely loved it. We knew that was where we wanted to get married...and didn't even look into anything else. Let me know if I can be of any help! There are lots of RM/Cancun brides here!
  13. Welcome! We are getting married at Dreams Cancun in Oct. of this year. It is a beautiful all-inclusive and kid friendly. We vacationed there last Oct. and absolutely loved it. Let me know if I can be of any help!
  14. Hi Gloria. I'm a Dreams Cancun bride (Oct. 2007), let me know if there is any way I can help!
  15. This is a great place to be. I'm sure you'll find yourself addicted in no time!
  16. The topic has come up in some of the other recent threads.... maybe we've gone over this before, but I just want to double check. Does Dreams charge for using outside vendors for photography and videography? I am going with Paul Schrank for video and Claudia Rodriguez for photo.
  17. The "fakes" look so good now, that it's tempting not to just forget the real thing all together. I say definitely go "fake"...it not worth the financial stress to splurge on the real thing. I'm sure you're the only one that will know the difference anyway
  18. I have a strapless dress with a lace up back. I'm hoping that I can just tie the girls in tight and forget the bra altogether. Strapless bras are such a pain!
  19. I was struggling with the BM/GM thing too. I was either going to have 4 (BF, two sisters, and his sister)...or it would have to be 7 (No way I could choose between the 3). I was leaning towards 4, because I've heard people say that having so many attendants was "tacky". My FI insisted he could not bring the number down to less than 8 GM. I bugged him about cutting back for a few days...then I realized...for what Who cares if other people think it's tacky...if 8 GM is what he wants and what makes him happy...that's what it will be...this is OUR day. So anyway... I'm going with 7 BM, and he has 8 GM. I think the GM will be waiting with FI at the gazebo, and BM will walk down solo. It won't be balanced, but who really cares? We are already throwing tradition to the wind with a DW. I guess my point is....all of your BM are important to you. I think they should all stand up with you...and include his sister too if you want...who cares if it's 6 to 2? The BM could still stand to your side...but maybe staggered. Three (taller BM) slighty behind, and 3 slighty in front (think class picture...I'm a teacher...sorry). However, you decide to do it...try not to worry about what it will "look" like. The symbolism is more important
  20. Any particular reason you are thinking of un-inviting guests? How many were you planning on originally? Part of me is really drawn to the idea of it just being my FI and I.... and making it a very intimate and personal event....but it just wouldn't fly with our family and friends Which is OK, because the other part of me can't imagine my wedding without them. I think you have to do whatever feels best to the two of you. I like the dinner and walk on the beach idea that others have mentioned. Maybe you could stay at a small, luxurious "boutique" hotel, or a bed and breakfast. I have a co-worker getting married in Jamaica, it will just be the two of them and her father. I'll see what she has planned and let you know.
  21. Julie- He's available for our day!!! I'm so excited! Now I just need to stumble upon some few grand so I can hire Sol!

May I ask where you got them, and how much you paid?
