  1. Oh Glenda, you are so damn funny! I wish we had hooked up in NY! And, don't let anyone take your happiness away from you! How dare they? When Maggie and Tadd first told the family they wanted a destination wedding, I was not the perfect mother of the bride. Buzz and I don't have alot of money and were having a difficult time seeing how a DW was going to save money! When Maggie finally explained to me that with a DW she would not have to include her 7th cousin 4x removed in her guest list, I finally began to see her reasoning. Like the other brides have said, the ones who support your decision, and are with you on your wedding day, are the ones who count. I don't mean to say that if Uncle Andy really cannot afford to go this means he is selfish and vindictive. If Uncle Andy made lots of trouble and stress for you, then maybe he's a jerk and the kind of riffraff you don't want there anyway. But if there is no way he can go, but he wishes you and your FI every happiness, you will be sad he won't be there, but you understand. Be tough, stick to your dreams, and be true to yourself. When people realize that you are going to do this, no matter what they say, they will soon shut their mouths.
  2. Gen, now don't laugh. I ordered from Carlson Craft in 1970 for my 1st marriage. God, that makes me sooo old! They were very clasic off-white engraved invitations. I think they were lovely. The quality was great. My point in all of this is, they have been around at least 37 years so they must be doing something right. Relax and enjoy. You are going to have soo much fun addressing, licking stamps, and mailing them out. LOL! Your idea of adding your personal touch to them sounds great. You will know better how you may want to incorporate this once you see them in person. Congratulations, you are one step closer to being a married couple. BTW, are you ordering a Ketubah or another type of marriage certificate? I am just curious cuz I have seen some gorgeous ones online. Take care, Lizzy
  3. I also had trouble reading yours and your FI's names. I just figured it was cuz I'm old! Maybe if you use the other form of the font, like you mentioned. I can't get over how pretty the map as a background looks. Did you make the map more transparent? They are wonderful!
  4. OK, Mrs. the sexy Kelly Bride to be-Maria
  5. Great job on the slideshow! What a tallented lady you are. BTW, good for you for standing your ground with the resort! I'm anxious to read your review. It will be good for other brides to learn what can happen. Get some rest, my friend....from the looks of things, you and E really need it!
  6. Welcome to both of you! Enjoy the forum.

  9. OK Mrs. Everton, you are such a beautful woman. And that man of yours...does he work out? My God, those pipes on him. hmmmm hmmm! You kids are adorable. The oldest son is gonna make alot of girls cry, and your girls are so pretty! The older girl looks like another black Irish in the mix.(YEAH!!!!). And of course, what can you say about your Irish Jamaican? Wow, as the others have said, your whole family is beautiful!

    Hello

Bienvenidos Sergio. Glad you joined us! Lizzy
  11. Be very careful with OTC and herbals. They can mess up any perscription drugs you may be taking! No joking around with this, it can be very seious. Last fall I was in nursing school. We had tons of lectures dealing with Natural, Herbal, and OTC being taken while on RXs. I would love to find that magic pill b/4 Maggie's wedding! It ain't gonna happen that way. Damn! But if it did, I am convinced it would have to be a prescription drug.
  12. Matt, what a mess they would have been in without you. The wedding looked like the most intimate wedding on record. And then to have their friends and family there to witness and experience it all is awesome! The moments you captured are gone already. They cannot have any of those moments back without your beautiful photographs. You were truly a blessing for this wedding group. Salud!!!
  13. I am very relieved for you and Xavier. Try to rest. Nothing can go wrong now that could even compare to what you have already gone through. So relax and know on Friday you will be in the Carribean sun while I am in this dark and dreary rainy week in MN with Maggie and Ann and threst of the MN contingent. I will be thinking about you, knowing your wedding is perfect.
  14. Kelly, these photos are gorgeous. Did you bring a photographer with you? Holy Sh#$! Where were the kids during this little R-rated moment (LOL)? You two do photograph well my Faerie lass!

    hi

Hello Vivi, and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your engagement.
  16. Laura, just saw your response. I will get the recipes for you tomorrow, I'm getting ready for bed now. So nightie-nite.
  17. Welcome! We are happy that you joined BDW
  18. How about a mock chowmein? I have a recipe if you want it. Also, it is apple seaon, how about apple cobbler? Super easy to make and freezes well. One other thing we like to frezze and bake is salisbury steak w/gravy. Again if you need any of these recipes let me know.
  19. Seriously, get yourself healthy first. And please, if the brides are offering to help you, they mean it! There are so many things that can be prepared by one of us on the forum and then sent to you. All you need to do is tell them what it is you would like done. We have some very tallented folks here. Maybe make a list of some of the things that concern you and post it. Then, whoever is able to finish it up for you will help. Please take care of yourself and let us help you. Lizzy

    I'm a newbie

Great to have you with us!
  21. Thanks Annie. And thanks Paula. Bienneidos is the one I thought it might be.
  22. Is "recepcion al paraiso" or "bienvenidos al pariaso" the correct translation of "welcome to paradise"? I went o babblefish and it told me the recepcion was correct, but when I had them translate bienvenidos it said that word meant welcome. Can someone tell me which is the proper way to say it? I want to put this on my OOT hang tags. Thank you!
  23. Laura, you are more than welcome. As soon as I saw the site I knew you would love it! If I had your # I would have called you! I cannot wait to give the tote bag to Maggie...she's going to freak! Glad you like her things. I wonder where she gets her fabric and stuff?
  24. Welcome back Lori and congratulations on your marriage! The whole experience sounds like it was great. I am so glad you were happy with everything. Now get those pictures up girl! We do love wedding pix!!!
