    Aloha!

Hey Susie, I am not a bride from MN, I am the mother of a bride from Mpls! There are a few of us from the Twin Cities on this forum. This forum is a great resource for you. I cannot think of anything that one of our brides has not encountered. There are always "bride-sisters" who will give advice, when asked, support, whether asked for, or not, encouragement and ideas. Post often and let us get to know you. Ask for help. We are always here for one-another. Congratulations and best wishes on your forthcoming marriage. Lizzy in St. Paul & Maggie in So. Mpls
  5. Hey Shea, when are you leaving for Mexico? My daughter is being married on the same day in Tulum. A bunch of us are going on the 16th on NW Airlines and a bunch of others are going out that same morning on Suncountry. How funny would that be if we were all on the same flight?
  6. Welcome to the group, Aimee!

    New!!

Welcome Marie! You will get lots of ideas and help from this forum.
  8. Thank you all. This gives us more to go on. Since we aren't having the wedding there, just the rehersal, I wasn't certain if we had any bargaining power. More people are booking their rooms now as we are getting closer to the date, so soon it will be time to do some negotiating. I am not sure what she is asking for, but this info will certainly help her alot. You ladies are a wealth of information!
  9. Can any of the girls or boys tell me where I can buy about 50 "Sacred Heart" or another heart Milagro? I have checked online and at EBay, but they usually want you to buy a random lot of Milagrs instead of specific ones. I thought maybe Anny or Amy or Edna may have some ideas. Thank you!!!
  10. Great idea Stephanie! Unfortunately I will be working at Macy's in Rosedale. Stop by the Lauder counter on your way home...its on Hwy 36 and Fairview.
  11. I was beginning to think I had written the thread wrong or something...nobody had responded. Until you! I appreciate your info, thank you so much. lizzy
  12. Could the Brides of Dreams Resorts please tell me what they are getting from Dreams for booking several-(a lot) rooms at the resort? I am talking about extras. Maggie hasn't blocked any rooms because she didn't know when and how long her guests might want to stay. She is having her rehearsal dinner there and has booked about 8 rooms so far. The wedding is in January. She wants to ask her TA to ask for some extras, but wanted me to ask you folks first, what you have negotiated. Thanks, ladiies!
  13. Oh Carly, you look so beautiful in your gown! You made a perfect choice. Congratulations Lizzy
  14. Do these help? They are just a couple we have saved in our file.
  15. I have seen them at the large stores like Home Depot, Mennards and Lowes.
  16. OK Laura, I chose C. I think they are really pretty and I also think they are a less classic design than the others. The colors make them more unique...like you!
  17. Here is the recipe for the ravioli Maggie had: Ravioli Flled Wth Sweet Peas, Ricotta And Mint: Sweet Pea Filling: 3 1/2 cups frozen peas, cook and cooled 1 cup fresh ricotta (can substitute silken tofu for a vegetarian option) 5 mint leaves 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt 112 won ton wrappers to make 56 ravioli (7 per person) Sauce: 2 cups chicken stock, reduced to 1 cup 1 cup cream, reduced to 1/2 cup 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice Preheat oven to 350 degree F Make Sweet Pea Filling: Place peas, fresh ricotta, mint, and kosher salt in bowl of food processor and pulse to create a thick, chunky paste. Transfer mixture to bowl. Make Ravioli: Put a won ton wrapper on a work surface. Spoon a scant tablespoon of the sweet pea mixture into the center of the won ton. Spray the wrapper lightly with water. Carefully place another won ton wrapper on top and seal the edges to make sure no air pockets remain. Set the finished ravioli on a parchment lined sheet pan. Repeat until all are assembled. Make Sauce: Mix together the reduced stock and the reduced cream. Add salt and right before ready to serve, add the lemon juice. Cook Ravioli: Meanwhile, in a large pot of heavily salted boiling water, cook the ravioli in batches until tender but firm to the bite, about 3 minutes. When the water returns to a boil and the ravioli floats to the top, test for doneness. With a slotted spoon or skimmer, transfer to a warmed platter, toss gently with the sauce. Serve. Makes 56 ravioli to serve 7 per person for 8 people.
  18. When Maggie and I were in NY, we went to a little Italian restaurant for dinner. I had Salt cod linguine that was out of this world! Maggie had a ravioli with peas and basil I think. I will check with her to see if she remembers exactly what it was. All I know is it was heavenly!
  19. Last time I went to Michael's they were in the entry with all of the seasonal items on clearance. I didn't get them then cuz they didn't have any good fragrances left. Make sure to ask the staff where there clearance items are.
  20. Drea & Eric, they are terrific photos! I thought Eric wasn't gonna do TTD session Drea wins again! That 1st photo of your profiles is so pretty! That is a beautiful, expensively framed, on the livingroom wall, momento of something your kids are gonna die hearing bout when they are around 16! Your photographer did an exceptional job. I am so happy to see how much you both enjoyed yourselves. Ain't love grand!!!
  21. See Christine, all of your work towards your beautiful wedding paid off in ways you never even expected!
