  1. Thanks. They were great! Hey Glenda, love your siggy. I always tried to figure out what you looked like without your shades. You are a very pretty girl! Glenda, when is your wedding? Inquiring minds want to know..........
  2. OK, but what about the best mother of the bride for ALL of our brides? HMMMMMM?
  3. I told you in my review I wanted to show you the cupcakes from Maggie's wedding. Well, here they are in all of their glory. The toppers had been attached to some ribbon on a gift at her lingerie shower. She loved them so much that she put them on the cupcakes! When we got to MX, I couldn't find the cupcake liners I had ordered for Beryl's. They were a beautiful brown and gold color. Anyway, the baker in Tulum had to use red. It isn't what we had planned, but still we were very pleased with the results! And oh, so nummo!
  4. I am sorry, Tami has already taken mine. I am sure someone else will offer their extras soon. Tara gave me a bunch and now I can send some on to another bride.
  5. This is going to be a pretty short review. Mag wants to do a full review so this is the Mother of the Bride's perspective. Dreams Tulum: A+ I cannot even tell you what a wonderful time we had at this resort! When Buzz and I arrived it was around 8:30 pm. We were told that we had been upgraded to a suite. Yippee! Then the man at the desk picked up the phone and made a call. He told the person at the other end of the line that "The Di Marcos have arrived." Some of our party had been asking about us so he decided to make an announcement that we were finally there! Very nice indeed! Our bell capton took us out on the balcony of the lobby to show us exactly where our room was. I thought that was really nice because he suggested we rest at the lobby bar with a cocktail (or three) before we go to our suite. The suite was lovely and very clean. My only complaint about the room is that the pillows are extremely hard. I suggest you bring your own from home. You want to be well rested and not have a neckache for your wedding! Sugar Reef Bar: A. Thursday night. Great outside bar (with covering for inclement weather). We invited all of our guests to join us for an informal get to know each other after dinner, evening. There was live music for dancing and listening pleasures. The bar is set up like a lounge with small sitting areas. It is right next to the beach. The wait and bar staff were very friendly and accomodating El Patio: A. Friday afternoon. This is the Meican restaurant in the resort. Again, this restaurant is located outside. It was here that I hoasted the luncheon for the bridesmaids. With Tadd's mom, Gran, and God Mother, Mag's maids and her personal attendant, there were eight of us. It was fun to have just the ladies in attendance! At the end of the meal I had our server bring each of us a glass of champagne in saud of the ladies who were standing beside Maggie as she married Tadd. Sea Side Grill: A+. Friday evening. Unbelievable service from Joachim and his staff. This restaraunt is at the south end of the resort and affords the most privacy. Bob and Mary, Tadd's folks, rented the retaurant out for a private welome dinner . We had a choice of chicken or sur and turf. I chose the surf and turf. The filet mingon was butter-knife tender with a bernaise sauce and the shrimp was broiled and seasoned beautifully. I don't remember what the desert was. Oh yes I do, it was tres leche cake and it was great. It was very moist but no soaking with liquid. Nummmm! We had toasts and roasts and tons of fun. And, Mary got Sandra at Dreams to reduce the price of the day pass to only $25/per person!! She was wonderful. My son Josh and his family were the only off resort guests...maybe that is why she did this. Spa: B. I only went to the spa for a mani. It was ok. The Spa itself is very pretty and sooo relaxing. The personal attendant had a couple of mesages done and totally felt they were worth the money. On Saturday around 11AM all of the ladies involved in the wedding moved down to the Ana Y Jose Beach Club to get ready for the big event! It was gorgeous. But I will let Maggie tell you about that part of the trip. All I will tell you is that Jackie, the WC, worked along with our little bride, and saw to it that all of Mag's dreams were fulfilled! Wait til I get a photo of the cupcakes! So there you are.Dreams Tulum was the best place I have ever stayed! I cannot wait to go back!
  6. I have 17 fans for whoever might want them. They vary in sizes; I think there are 4 large and the others are a mixture of medium and small. PM me if you want them and I will get them out to. Oh, this is kind of stupid, but I also have a package of 100 mini metallic brads for use on hang tags or whatever. These are also free. GONE
  7. I agree with Annie. The Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa is amazing! We had 3 different events at the resort and used our photographer we brought from MN. There was no problem. We did not use the resort for the wedding itself tho.
  8. Thanks Abbey for showing your book to all of us. It is so nice! And, thanks Morgan for the information on the codes.I joined shutterfly a couple of years ago but I think I will join again with one of my other email addys and see what happens. Thank you again, ladies. If this works, Maggie will be so surprized!
  9. The book is beautiful! Your guests will love paging through it and some of the photos might jog their memories and offer ideas to write on your frame. I've been playing around with an idea for a book for Maggie and Tadd. My only concern has been the cost. Are there usually coupons available?
  10. Hi girlie-girls and boyos! What a glorious week we had!! Got home last night. Left the Cancun airport at 3:45 with a temp of 87 - 90 F. Got home and it was -2 F !!!!! But it is great to be home and sleep in my own bed. These pix are from my camera. A photog, I ain't! but you can get an idea of how beautiful it was in Tulum and what a pretty setting we had for our baby girl's wedding. No drama, no disappointments! We had one huge surprize though; Maggie's dad flew in Mag's younger brother as a secret. Nic had told her that he couldn't make it to the wedding because of school. Then all of a sudden there he is at the welcome dinner! It was so perfect! Anyway, I will write my review on Dreams Tulum, Dreams Experts Travel, and the Ana Y Jose Beach Club when I can. Have to work all weekend so I won't get to it til next week. Thanks to all who sent their congrats to us on Stephie's earlier post. Here is the link to a small slideshow of my pix. Any questions or comments, let me know. Love ya all! fangbert - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
  11. Well, it is finally time to go. Maggie and Tadd are being married this Saturday! I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed. I had intended to have a show & tell of everything we accomplished in getting ready for this day, but I have run out of time! I promise to take tons of pix to post when I get back. We leave on Wednesday morning. I know I will forget something. I am so excited, my baby girl is getting married! Thank you to all of you for your thoughts, your skills, your prayers, and your good wishes. You all accepted me into your group with open arms and I will never forget you. This has been a gas! Until next week then, Lizzy
  12. Elizabeth, your slide show is breathtaking! I think one of my favorite shots is when Annie is flipping her head and the arc of water spray is above her. Wow! Annie, your girls are little dolls, just like Momma!
  13. I love the color of the roses. I think I would add a little greenery and then they will be perfect. Very pretty!
  14. Let me guess, is FMIL pissed that you are having a DW?? Honey, I tried to make passport STDs for Maggie and Tadd. I know exactly how much time and effort you put into them! Be proud of them and, beware of his mother and her opinions!
  15. Hi Mo. I am sorry for the pain you are going through. It will take time for it to become less painful, but eventually it will. I think it is very important to show Mommom that you support her decision. Talk with her about when you and the cousins were kids and all of the memories you have. Laugh and cry together. I remember both my dad and Virginia telling me they were tired and just wanted to go. It broke my heart, but I knew they wanted to see their loved ones who had gone before and were waiting for them. I don't mean to sound like I am preaching to you. I just think if you can make the time she has left, loving and beautiful, you will look back on this very special time you spent with her and know that you helped her pass without regrets. I send you much love and sympathy for all you and your husband have gone through. Lizzy
  16. Kendra, I love that idea. Tadd's family has a lot of guests coming, but the representation from our side will be just a handful of people. Please let us know how this is planned out.
  17. Jessica, you and Brian sure do make beautiful babies! He is a very handsome boyo. Congrats to you and Brian and tell Aidan, WELCOME TO THE WORLD!!!!1
  18. Here it is, January 1st and we leave 2 weeks from tomorrow for Maggie's wedding! Where did all the time go?? I thought I had everything on my end pretty much under control but then there were a lot of little changes...we aren't using the logo ( the one Heidi and Robin so kindly helped me with), changes in colors for a theme, etc. You all know what I mean! So now, I need to get in fast mode. Then, on top of Christmas and RETAIL!, I got some really sad news 2 nights ago. I don't know if I ever told you ladies about my dad. He died 2 years ago Thanksgiving at 90 years old. When he was 85 he got a letter from his high school sweetheart. They spent the last 5 years of his life as if there had been no lapse in time. They were so cute!! The week of Thanksgiving Buzz and I had lunch with Virginia. She likes to honor the anniversary of his death. We knew she had plans with her own children for Christmas so we planned to get together again after the holidays. Saturday night when I came home from work Buzz handed me the newspaper. As you have already guessed, Virginia was in the obituary. She had died on Christmas day. No one called us to let us know and the obit only ran for the day before the funeral. I am so sad. She was one of the most beautiful people I have ever known. The world has lost true lady! So, lots has been happening and not a whole lot of it is wedding stuff. So somebody kick me in the arse! I need to get this crap done, and fast!
  19. Steph, I love those! What a super idea! I was looking @ Jean M's site and couldn't justify the price either. You are the bomb, kiddo. I can't wait til your wedding to see all of your work come together!
  20. Annie, you are a beautiful bride! You and your husband, who ain't so bad either, are a great looking couple. I meant to ask if you took the kids to the wedding with you? I don't recall reading anything about that, but I may have missed it. Best wishes to you and your family!
  21. You did a fantastic job on them!! They are really unique...just as you wanted them to be!
  22. Your invitations are very lovely! I can see why you are so thrilled with them. Your guests will be so excited to receive them!
  23. That was a great review! I love it when our brides tell it straight. It sounds like everything went as planned...I hope you also had fun! Congratulations and best wishes to you and Brett.
  24. Honey, I am so happy for you. Reggie isn't gonna know what to do with a FI who loves her job!! This is going to be so good for you. It is wonderful to hear...or read, the excitement in your voice. You deserve to be happy. Thank God!!! Merry Christmas, Heidi and Reggie. XXX1/2 Lizzy
