  1. No, at least not IMO. Of course, you could go overboard if all the items are too flashy and detailed. Depends how simple the items are I guess. Tiaras like everything else can range from simple to queenish. I just love them though. For me they totally complete the look and make me feel like a bride. Just try one on and see what you think, if it's not for you then no harm done.
  2. Do you think maybe the reason he's shutting up lately is b/c he's planning something? I dont' know about your partner, but mine doesn't look at jewelery online unless he's in the market to buy something. I'm just wondering if he looked at you like you were crazy when you said you don't care about the ring because he may have already bought - or has planned to buy - you a particular ring. Just a thought..
  3. Your freeze dried petals were confiscated? Wow, guess that solves my decision of freeze dried vs. silk! Thanks for the post, I never would've thought of that!
  4. Courtney - I don't think not being a hat person is in any way related to being a tiara person. OF COURSE you can pull it off! Then again I do love sparkle and anything "princessy" so maybe I'm a little biased...
  5. Trista - I'd recommend talking to Karen (the seller) b/c after I placed my order (which was only favors) and paid the $10 flat shipping rate I got an e-mail from Karen saying thanks for your order and that I could add anything else from her store on for no additional shipping. As for the weddingandbridaljewellery store, they are yet to get back to me either. Good call about being concerned about the customer service. If they won't even get back to me I'd be worried they'd actually ship it ASAP like I'll need to be able to get it in time.
  6. Trista - the starfish I really like is the one you posted at weddingandbridaljewellery.com Did you end up ordering from them? I'm just wondering how much they charge to ship to Canada. As a random rant - do you know what really bothers me? When I'm charged insane amounts for shipping yet when the item arrives I can see exactly what was paid for shipping and that amount was totally reasonable. Why do sellers get away with that Just had to rant...
  7. Thanks Trista - I have no idea how I missed that! I even went through the shop a dozen times!
  8. Hi girls, Just wanted to let you guys know about an ebay store that I've talked to that is currently running a promotion of $10 shipping to Canada when you buy 100 items or less (free if you buy over 100 items). Seems to have lots of cute things that I'm going to pick up for OOT bags. She told me this deal would be open for a week - but I have no further details than that. Also, NO idea what customs might end up being but usually I've found that American ebay sellers will either mark the item as a gift (so no duties) or will undervalue it so if you do get hit with customs it's minimal. Anyways, if anyone's interested the ebay member's name is impressive weddings and the store's site is Shop eBay Canada Store - unique wedding favors:: fall and autumn, beach Does anyone happen to know anywhere either in Canada or that will ship to Canada for cheap that sells bouquet jewelery? That's my next to-do...
  9. Yazmin, Maybe I'm just slow today but I can't seem to find where the vows are on your web page. Can you help direct me (it's true, i haven't had enough coffee today...) Thanks!
  10. Hey Courtney, Great thread to start. As I'm sure you know by all my whining I've had the exact same problem. I can find things at great prices but then that all the sudden triples (or more) when I want it shipped to Canada. So far I've found it cheapest to just buy from local stores and forking over more on the price tag but obviously no shipping. Unfortunately I'm no help here, the only Canadian site I know is Wedding Favours - Bridal Shower Favours and Party Favour Ideas but that was already posted. I'll be sure to check this threat again though in hopes that someone else has been more successful than me in their searches!
  11. Christine I LOVE the digital frame idea!!! I'll have to "borrow" that one. I like not having to worry about setting up a slideshow too! Thanks a million!
  12. We bought ours in packs of 3 at Michael's Craft Store. We searched our dollar stores but didn't find anything we liked and these ones were perfect for our iron ons. We used the 40% off deal and so they didn't end up being too pricey. Good luck!
  13. Alright, I just ordered one off e-bay. I figure I need something for all those strapless shirts I'll be wearing pre-wedding week to avoid nasty tan lines
  14. Jessalyn your OOT bags are amazing! Just what I needed another DIY project. Where did you get your iron on transfers from?
  15. Oh I love this site! I think I just found what I'm going to do! Thanks for the post! Do you have any pics of what it looks like all put together?
  16. Hmmm, I was thinking of tackling this project this weekend if I can somehow make time. I'm wondering if you could find the veil and other accessories at a scrapbook store? Or a big craft store like Michael's If you try it please post your pics and any helpful hints!
  17. What is this Nu-Bra? Can you buy it in stores or only online. Hmmm, I'm so intrigued...
  18. Thanks for the post Christine! I love those! Now to see if they'll ship to Canada...
  19. Yeah, that's what I got from the WC when I tried to figure things out ahead of time. My 2 month mark is in a couple days so I'll let you know if at that point plans can be made quickly!
  20. Sorry I dont' know the answer to any of those questions but I'm trying to figure out my reception right now too so I cannot wait to hear the responses! Great questions by the way!
  21. I'm so happy to hear that you're excited about the upcoming ceremony! I can't believe you're going to be married on Monday! Are you guys getting your bands? As for the paperwork and medical test, we have to do the same thing for Mexico, so it's not like you wouldn't have to do it sooner or later. Just now you have an immediate deadline! So congrats and I cant' wait to hear about how everything goes. Are you going to get a cute dress or anything special to wear?
  22. Alissa I cannot thank you enough for all the info you provided! In particular, I was so relieved to see there is a back up plan in place in case it rained. Also glad to hear you loved Agave b/c that's where I've planned my welcome dinner. Haven't chosen yet for our reception, but now I know more about what I'm choosing. So thanks again - it's hard to make choices when you cannot actually go to the site to visit!!!
  23. Hey Melissa, Wow! that's crazy! Did this happen really fast? Are you okay with everything - despite trying to figure out what's involved in a civil ceremony on short notice... I guess now you could do a vow renewal in PV if you wanted. By the way, I thought you were in Lethbridge? Did I make that up or did you move and that's what's caused the problem? Hope all is well!
  24. At first I figured nah because we've already been living togeter for a while, but based on everything I've heard and read I really want to now. However, the only ones I seem to find are through churches, which I assume you can't go to if you're not a member of any church. Melissa, did you have any luck finding a place? For everyone that did attend, how long before your wedding did you go? Is it just a session or 2? I'm clueless here...
