  1. I'm still trying to figure out the reception. There's only about 15 of us, so I guess my options may be limited for the reception. The WC told me I could have it at the Chillis mezzanine which is a private area. I'll think about that one. I was leaning towards the gourmet restaurant before rather than the steakhouse. The terrace off the Mexican restaurant sounds great! Oh I can't wait to see pics!!!
  2. I did 4 inserts in total (I had the taller pocketcards so it worked alright) I did one RSVP b/c I never "officially" sent out STD's (and even though I pretty much know who's coming it just seemed to complete the invite), I did one on hotel info, one on area attractions, and one for the welcome dinner.
  3. Tara, I think we have similar body types from looking at your pic and I had been looking at that dress so glad to hear it's flattering! As for tops, what size fits you? I'm a 36C too (normally) but have never bought anything from VS so I don't know where to start size-wise.
  4. I got Ian a nice watch just over a year ago so I'm going to need something different. I can't think of ANYTHING though. Is there a traditional gift (other than a watch)? I'm at such a loss here
  5. I was going to b/c I wanted an Alfred Angelo dress and I found a couple distributors on eBay so I knew exactly what dress I was going to get. I researched some by reading through their reviews, and one had just horrible reviews. There were a ton of brides complaining about lack of communication and their dresses not arriving in time - which sounded like too big of a nightmare to deal with. I found another distributor that had glowing reviews but she wouldn't mark it as a gift so I'd end up paying a lot in shipping and then add customs on to that. I found a woman here in Vic that runs a bridal shop out of her home. She is in direct contact with distributors so she just ordered me my dress and I didn't get dinged with any customs and shipping was super cheap. So I don't know how much help I can be b/c I never ended up ordering from eBay, but I do suggest you are aware of their shipping charges, and that you thoroughly go through their reviews.
  6. I cannot wait to see them! You must be so psyched. I'm already having difficulty concentrating at work and I have 3 months, not 3 weeks like you, to go! How many guests are joining you guys?
  7. No, I dont think so. We might go the iPod route. Still up in the air on that one. I've asked the WC about an area for dancing. I'll let you know what she says on that one.
  8. Then you should definately be able to have a private reception. The WC just got back to me that with my 15 guests I could have my reception in a private area. It would be on the mezzanine of one of the restaurants.
  9. Same concern here. I really want to get the first bikini posted, but without being able to try it on I'm a little concerned. I wish we had VS in Canada
  10. Having my own office seems to actually be worse for me - I can play around online and no one knows For the reception question - how many guests are you expecting Martha?
  11. Thanks Kashmira - it just so happens that my FI has and knows how to use Photoshop. Perhaps this could be a project for him!
  12. Nicole you have to take a pic of the hoodie from the front and post it as soon as you get it! I've been dying to see it. It's soooo cute! And I agree, with all the stress of planning a wedding retail therapy is great! (even if the last thing I need to do is spend more $...)
  13. Laura, wow that's a good deal! But you don't sound too happy with it. Was it just not what you were expecting in terms of the "wow" factor or something? I strongly believe every girl should LOVE her dress. Maybe I'm just reading more into your message - hard to tell emotions on computers sometimes
  14. I agree, that beach chair was way too close to the bride and groom for my liking. With the Riu Palace Mexico I believe you get the choice of on the beach, a gazebo, or in a small cathedral type building (max 25 or something). At the Riu Palace Riviera Maya there is only the gazebo as far as I know. It worked for us b/c that's what we wanted, but if you prefer one of the other options you may want to consider the RPM
  15. No problem. I've e-mailed the WC down there to get more info so I'll let you knwo what she says just as soon as I hear from her. Are there any clues that I do NOT want to work today
  16. Man as a stalker I must suck! Aren't you not supposed to know I'm following you around Anyways here's some pics I have downloaded from another thread. Hope it helps!
  17. Hi Martha, surprise it's me again! Okay, when I read your question I really had to think about it. The funny thing is I don't really know. I guess it was the pics - the Riu Palace Riviera Maya just really jumped out to us as where we want to be. Plus it's new which was attractive to us. However, they're both stay at 1 play at 6, so no matter which you chose you can freely go back and forth between the two. I've never been though so I can't really provide any firsthand knowledge.
  18. Hi Martha, My understanding of the reception is that there's no fee for just sectioning off a part of one of the specialty restaurants for your reception. I think if you want a private dinner, subject to availability, you can do so but they say there "might" be a fee for this (my guess is there will be). Guess it depends on how big your wedding party is. I suggest contacting your WC who will be able to provide you with more info regarding the costs, etc. As for the dancing part, sorry I know nothing about that
  19. Those look great! I'm thinking of going with the silk ones on that site though just b/c I dont' want to worry about any problems with customs (are there any) and also I think you dont' have to worry about protecting them as much. Has anyone seen the silk flowers from the link posted above? They're so much cheaper than buying them from the resort but that makes me worry about quality...
  20. Tammy I dont' think it would be weird at all. I think if you want to do it, then do it! My only concern with doing this personally is that I know there's another wedding at the resort after me, so I'm wondering if there would be objections to us tossing anything. Anyone know anything about this?
  21. Jessice that is the BEST line I've heard for getting new clothes! I can't wait to use it! Thanks a million
  22. I LOVE the sexy little bride hoodie but have no idea what it looks like in person b/c we don't have any VS up here in Canada. Has anyone actually seen it in person? I think I might splurge on several items, just too tempting!
  23. Jessica what is max's fashion tape? I'm assuming double sided tape - but is it strong enough to hold up a gown and if so, is it "sweatproof"? Where do you find it? I got my dress this weekend and already I'm hiking it up like crazy, which is driving me crazy. I LOVE the idea of getting a seamstress to put in an elastic in the top. (Thank you Christa!) I want it super snug so there's not any shots of me pulling it up.
  24. Sarah, I just realized how quickly your wedding is approaching! How exciting! How is everything going? Have you made a lot of plans madewith the WC? I can't wait to see your pics!
  25. lol I hope not b/c I got confirmation yesterday for my welcome dinner. They were actually really quick in responding! I contacted the WC via e-mail, within a couple hours she gave me the person's e-mail i needed to make the reservation at the resort (since I guess it's not really a wedding thing). I got confirmation from that person later in the day yesterday. Great improvement in response time! I assume if there was a fee they would have let us know then right? Let's assume no extras!
