  2. Thats right its your wedding and only the two of you know what you really want and if its a DW then thats what you should do. I know its not easy, I felt like cancelling ours when I found out my sister was pregnant and couldn't come because it was important to me that she be there. But if we had our wedding here, we wouldn't be able to get married for 3 years, we'd need that long just to save up all the money we'd have to spend, and we wouldn't be very happy about shelling out all that money for one day. we were very worried about cost for people as well and thats why we chose a resort that was reasonable and AI so that it wouldn't be a huge burden for our guests. I would worry about the two of you first, what you want, where you want to go, if it will be okay with you if everyone can't make it, and that will help you make the right decision for you.

I would suggest talking to Tammy, I'm not really very well versed in travel, I always use a travel agent because I'm never sure if I'm missing something.
  4. Christine those are so pretty and everyone will especially love them knowing that you took the time to make them and they are beautiful. I always want to do all these DIY projects but whenever I buy stuff to do them, it just sits there.

Welcome! Your dates coming up quick, let us know if we can help!
  6. Paula I think we've all heard negativity from family and friends. Some people love the idea (mostly our friends) but others (like one of my best friends that is pregant) has made me feel really shitty, because she won't be able to come. (she's having twins in april, babies will only be 6 months old) We just keep reminding ourselves that this is OUR wedding, no one else's, and we would love to have everyone with us, but realize that there will still be people that just can't come, and we're okay with that.
  7. Welcome! Let us know if you have any questions!
  8. Welcome! I'm getting married at dreams cancun, so I'm not much help with moon palace. I also looked into moon palace, but as Leigh said it was too large for what I was looking for. But thats a matter of personal preference. Lenitas wedding is coming up soon, I'm sure she'll have tons of information to give you when she gets back and pics to share. And the other moon palace brides will chime in soon too, I'm sure. Let us know if there is anything else you need help with. P.S. I'm going to EDR for my honeymoon, I have heard its amazing as well!
  9. I am doing fuschia as my main color (I think), with some aqua added in. I just can't decide on my daughters dress, fuschia or aqua? I think aqua with fuschia flowers, hmm...
  10. That's a great site thanks! So should I be concerned that it says sunset isn't until 6:21 on my wedding day? How long does the complete sunset take? I want to get some sunset pictures, but this seems late, I was thinking it was more like 500 or 530? Anyone know?
  11. Have a great time Sarah! You're so lucky to be going somewhere warm right now!
  12. Good luck with your tests today Andrea. I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with your family and friends. As Sarah mentioned I think we all have these days. My sister was supposed to be my MOH and can't come because shes pregnant and I barely talk to my friends, some of them have said they are going but haven't booked yet. And FI is not getting along very good with his family right now, his brother told us they were definetly going to come and steve has called them a few times to remind them about booking, and I think because Steve isn't getting along with his dad right now, that his brother isn't going to come either and is just not telling steve. So I am very frustrated with his family right now and I feel bad for him. But whenever things like this happen we just have to remind ourselves that this is what we wanted for our wedding and as long as the two of us are there thats all that matters. I hope things get better for you! Oh, and if it makes you feel better I did all my dress shopping alone. You'd think after being a bm in so many of my friends weddings that they'd at least show some interest in my wedding.
  13. Sarah, I love those! They came out great! All you guys with your martha stewart ideas, I can barely turn the iron on, never mind try and iron these things on!
  14. I like them both, sorry! I think #2 sounds more formal if that's what you are going for, #1 more fun. I know I'm no help at all, see I'm even indecisive with other peoples weddings.
  15. I haven't used either one, but I know bouganvilleas are paper thin, so I could see them not lasting long especially in the heat. I'm not sure about hydrangeas.
  16. Welcome Heather! Let us know how we can help you!
  17. The first week is always the hardest, but I'm sure you're doing great! Kash had some great tips for you. I think eating a lot of low point items really helps because you feel like you get to eat a lot! Last night we decided to make bbq ribs & we had cole slaw, potato salad, you know all things that are really bad. And I was starving to top it off, so I had this huge plate of food and I started eating and I ate about half of everything and I started to feel full so I stopped. I pretty much thought I blew the diet for the day, but I decided to look and see how many points I ate and while it was a lot of points, I hadn't eaten much else all day, so I ended up being about 7 points over for the day, which was a lot better than I thought! So the moral of the story, don't be afraid to count your points even on bad days, sometimes I have a habit of just not counting if its a bad day.

    HI!!!!

Welcome Theresa! We have several dreams PV brides here, I'm sure they'll be happy to help you out with questions!
  19. the wedding coordinators fee is included with your package and the travel agent is paid by the resorts, so there is no fee there. If you don't already have one, I would strongly suggest contacting a TA because it will really ease your mind to know you have someone looking out for your travel arrangements and also give your guests someone to contact so they won't be constantly bugging you. Tammy (host) is a TA, she specializes in destination weddings. I would suggest contacting her. Good Luck!
  20. Those are great Christine, I'm sure they'll be a big hit!
  21. Congratulations Kash! I'm so happy for you! That is the best part, knowing that what you're doing is working, it makes it all worth it!
  22. Welcome! Let us know if you need help with anything!
  23. I don't know how much a typical flight to st. lucia is, but for us, we would have flown to mexico, then to st. lucia, then home. So, it was going to be about 1000 pp, for our flights, which isn't bad for all those flights, but we're only going to spend about 350 pp on flights to mexico, so we'll be saving 1300 dollars that we can put towards our honeymoon. When I was looking at Antigua the flights were expensive, I think a lot of the smaller carribean islands are more expensive to fly into. But if you don't have a TA yet, you may want to contact tammy (host) and she can probably give you some advice, she is a TA and specializes in destination weddings, she'd be able to better answer this question than I can.
  24. This is good to know because I have not purchased an IPOD yet, I've been waiting and we thought this would be a great excuse to finally get one because we can also use it for the wedding. Also, I'm sure someone knows this. I already use itunes and have a bunch of songs downloaded, but I also have downloaded songs from some of my cd's to my computer, can you transfer those songs onto your IPOD? or is it only songs downloaded from itunes?
