I'm thinking I will deliver them to peoples rooms as they arrive, I'll get a list of who is in which room and know when people are arriving so we can be sure to go and welcome them when they get in.

We are getting married at dreams cancun and then moving to El Dorado Royale. I liked the idea of moving because it will feel more like a honeymoon and EDR is more upscale and adults only and its in a different area so we'll get to see more parts of mexico. I'm not really worried about being somewhere different, I think we'll still be treated well. Royal Hideway looks awesome, I had looked into that one as well.

I think your ring is gorgeous! I have a round diamond too and its just a solitaire no other diamonds, with a white gold band, and I absolutely love it, because its exactly what I wanted. I think its okay for someone to ask how many carats, people have asked me, but its rude for them to say in a round about way that theres is better or that they don't like yours, I would be upset with anyone, friends, family or otherwise, that said anything unpleasant about my ring, keep your negative comments to yourself!

I've been struggling with this as well. I'm very attached to my last name and my name is well known in the area I work & live, which is sometimes important. But I have decided that in some form I will take his name because it is important to him. So I will either hyphenate or use my last name as my middle name. The other twist to this is that our daughter has my last name too, so I have to discuss this with her too, to see how she feels about changing her name.

Welcome! My FI has been to the outer banks and loves it! A group of his friends tries to plan a trip every year, but we can't go this year because of the wedding, which is a good reason, but we're still bummed that we can't go. That will be a great place to get married. You'll have to keep us updated on the information you run into for future NC brides

I was on tripadvisor the other day looking at pics & I read a few reviews and all of the recent ones I read were really good. But I agree that you can't totally rely on the reviews because some people are much harder to please than others, and one persons opinion of good food, may not be the same as anothers. I've read more good than bad reviews, so I try not to let it worry me too much

you know what I don't get, is that if one of my friends said they were getting married in mexico, we would be so excited, maybe this is because we love to travel. And even though we might not have the money we would save it and budget and make it work so we could be there. And I have to say the majority of FI's friends are excited about it and making every effort to come. I think its the perfect excuse for a vacation, even just a long weekend, why don't other people see it this way?

Leigh I have a similar situation. A few weeks ago FI got into an argument with his father, because for some reason his family always has to butt into our lives, when they should really just be concerned about their own. So anyway, his sister called and they argued, his brother called and they argued, the only one that didn't get involved was his mother. So now he went from talking to his sister several times a week to not at all and he calls his brother, but I think his brother is taking his dads side, so even though he said he is going, he hasn't booked either and I think its for this reason. I feel really bad for FI because my family is all booked and none of his family is. I want to mention it to him, but I just don't want to make him feel worse. I think everyone is right though, we both have a lot of time. Because of the special I thought a lot more people would have booked too, but some people are booking on their own. So we just have to remember that our wedding day is about us, and not about any of our inconsiderate friends or family.

I guess if we're good all week and most of the weekend, it won't kill us to have a few slipups on the weekend and enjoy ourselves!

I love eating out and on the weekends we will order or go out and I always want something really good. And of course FI doesn't care what he eats, he'll order greasy steak & cheese sandwiches (which I love too) or a big pizza with extra cheese and all these good toppings, who wants to eat a crappy salad when they have to look at & smell all this other wonderful food!
