Tammy I thought the same thing about the wine decanter. Its so hard finding something just the right size. I found a perfect one on linens & things website on friday, but I didn't order it. well I went back today to order it, it was on clearance, and it was gone today, WTF! So now I'm back on the hunt!

I had an idea today and thought I'd share. I've been looking for a container for my sand ceremony, for what seems like forever! I want something that has a cover so that I can transport it home, but I want something pretty so that it will be a nice decoration. So I stated looking at perfume bottles, and there are some really beautiful ones, I've found a lot that aren't too expensive, different colors, the only thing you have to be careful of is the size, I'm trying to find one thats not tiny! Right now I'm on amazon, I just searched for decorative bottles, and a million choices came up. But I also googled decorative bottles, and perfurme bottles and got a bunch of other choices. Just a thought in case anyone is having the same problem!

I know, the thought of dyeing it and something going wrong freaks me out, so I'm just going to leave it alone. They had other colors but I picked the light pink because I knew I could still use the bright pink/fuschia color that I've wanted to use, and it will still blend together nicely. thanks for talking me out of that thought, FAST! -

I forgot to tell you ladies that I picked up a BM dress this weekend for our daughter. She is my MOH and my only BM, so it was easy. We were at marshalls this weekend and they had these dresses that I swear look like miniature bm dresses, the only problem was they didn't have the color I really wanted, so I got her a light pink. I wanted to go with a bright pink, but I figured I still can give her bright pink flowers and use the bright pink in the rest of the ceremony & reception. I promise I'll post a pic later, I'm at work right now (hahaha) but I'll take one when I get home. One question, it doesn't really matter, but do you guys think I would be able to dye the dress? The color will work fine the way it is, but I figured if I could dye it then I would, but maybe I don't want to chance it! oh and BTW it was $29.99, I was so happy! -
Alternative to a Welcome Dinner??
*JillD* replied to amyh's topic in Puerto Vallarta Wedding Vendors
oh, its out of ours too, hahaha but I figured I'd get it anyway, maybe I can throw it in the oot bags in case our guests want to find something to do! We did say we wanted to try to do an excursion when everyone was there, just girls & just boys, kind of like our bachelor/bachelorette parties, but low key. But I think this would be more fun, we'll see! -
Welcome Carissa! I'm getting married in cancun, so I'm not much help with Jamaica, but let me know if you have any other wedding related questions!

dress dilemma
*JillD* replied to atjorgensen's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Ohh Andrea, I feel your pain, I had the same dress problems this weekend as well. I also went to a bridal salon that won't allow you to take pictures and I also tried on a limited maggie sottero dress, which they do not have pictures of anywhere, its soooo annoying!!! I had actually tried the dress on a few weeks ago and then tried it on again this weekend. Problem is I think I loved it even more when I went back the second time, but its $1500, way more than I really wanted to spend & my mother didn't think it was appropriate for a more "casual wedding" Can you tell I'm still annoyed and this was yesterday! If this is the first place you've gone, go to a few other places, and I would definetly suggest DB if you're trying to keep it less expensive, most of their gowns are lower priced. I also found that after trying other dresses it helped me realize that I really didn't like previous dresses as much, sometimes, if you're like me, you just love almost every dress! Hope this helps and good luck, I know I can't wait to make a decision! -
My FI also works in construction, so he knows its going to get beat up. We were thinking of doing Tungsten, as Christine suggested, but then we were told that because Tungsten is so strong if he ever broke his finger, the hospital wouldn't be able to cut it off and to have it re-sized you have to send it back to the manufacturer, at least this is what we've been told. And since he's in construction and very accident prone, breaking his finger isn't very far fetched. So Palladium was suggested instead. I looked online a little bit today and most of the rings I've found that he likes were between 500-800, I think. I don't think 799 is bad, but you could keep looking rather than paying 1200.

wedding dress vent!
*JillD* replied to *JillD*'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thank you everyone for your advice I really appreciate it!! Sarah, you were so smart to not get your family involved. I would have liked to have gone that route, but they kept asking me when we were going to go look so I kind of felt obligated. But I think I'm going to go back to davids and maybe have the girl there take some pictures for me. Christine, I think you're right, maybe if I go back to DB I can find something else, and I still have the lace one at DB that I really liked so I'll try that one again too. I wish you were closer! Ann, thank you so much for the offer!! If I was closer to Boston I'd totally take you up on that offer, but I'm about 1 1/2 hours away, so thats tough to do during the week with everything else thats going on, but I appreciate your help!! Stephanie, you hit the nail right on the head, I have to pick the dress I will be happiest with! Thanks for letting me vent! -
wedding dress vent!
*JillD* replied to *JillD*'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thanks girls! I think I am going to try to go look again sometime this week and try some different styles. I really didn't want to get my family involved because I knew this would happen, but they really wanted to come and I know they mean well, but I really just want to make a decision and order my dress. I will try to take pictures if I can, the place I went this weekend wouldn't let me, but maybe I'll go to davids bridal again and try some different ones. -

Freeze Dried Flowers?
*JillD* replied to Chicago80's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I didn't realize you can do this, how does it come out, do they just look like dried flowers?? I'd love to do this, I really wanted to be able to keep my bouquet, to do something with it when I got home, if you find any information I'd love to hear about it! -
Paper or Canvas Bags?
*JillD* replied to MrsWtobe's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I am planning to do some type of canvas or straw bag, but I will also probably just do a favor tag with our monogram. I'm really leaning towards the straw bags, but I'm not sure if they'll be too small, but I wanted something with a tropical feel -
Veil freakout - what to do?
*JillD* replied to LCBride2007's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Ann, I was just looking at veils on ebay. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to buy one or use the one my sister let me borrow,(I think I want a longer one), but they had some really pretty ones on there and they were sooooo much less expensive. I don't know if you feel like you need to see it first or if you want a certain designer, but if you don't care that much (like me) I would definetly take a look on ebay. I just feel since I'm only going to wear the thing for a few hours theres no need to spend a lot. Also, since some of them on ebay are so cheap, you could buy one and if you didn't like it when you got it at least you didn't spend too much, you could just resell it. Also davids bridal has cheaper ones. Oooh, another thing I just remembered, someone on this forum had her veil made by someone local using a picture of what she wanted, and it was really reasonable, I can't remember what thread it was in, but I think it was Nabumbah? Maybe check on that too
